14", same footprint, bit cheaper?!

Shut up and take my money!
Too good to be true.
In the last years they rose the price gradually so I can believe in a bit lower prices to push new machines, If I remember correctly also when the retina mbps were released they slightly lowered the prices.
But bigger screens with same footprint? No chance.

I would love a new Cinema Display with "discrete gpu" already in the chassis. But i know that IF a new Cinema Display will come it will be "the thinnest of the thin things, 8 years to design it, shipping today at 1999$, you will love it".
Btw after so many problems with dgpus and since Iris pro 580 is not that bad for normal tasks (same power ad current dgpu more or less) apple may decide to avoid internal dedicated gpus in MacBook pros, and maybe even in macpros.
I mean in 2013 the macpro went from "big box with a lot of internal real estate space to add a lot of things" to "little cylinder with lot of external connectivity to add the same lot of things"...

New piece of rumour from the Accidental Tech Podcast, and reported by MacG:

- there would be no OLED band but rather OLED displays on every keys, Optimus-like,
- the keyboard would get close from the Magic Keyboard style, rather than the rMB one.

If that OLED key - design would actually look like that. Erm. Well. That looks cheap. I would not like it at all. Even though it looks like a bad fake.

The illustration is of the Optimus system. It will probably not look like this...
You'd have to mix the image with a Magic Keyboard adapted to a laptop.

Interesting but I can't imagine OLEDs in each key if it's meant to be like the magic keyboard. Although in theory they could keep the key height similar ahs use the space saved from the new mechanism in adding the OLEDs

What IF the called OLED keyboard is only that each key is independently illuminated as the Razor Blade Stealth? It makes more sense.

Apple's design team are extremely good at creatin that premium aesthetic. If that rumour is true, at least it will be well designed and beautiful.

You are talking about the company that spent months and months, designing the bottom of the Magic Mouse because it didn't "sound right".

There's nothing to be worried about in terms of bad design. :)

The MBP is a gaming machine target at 40 year-old geeks now? Go buy a liquid cooled whatever for your bedroom. You'll be far happier.

There's me thinking the MBP was a productivity tool targeted at high quality, high performing, aesthetically-minded professionals who need exquisite, portable tools that work to a much higher degree of quality/reliability than anything else on the market.

or maybe only the top row of keys will get oled displays...it would make more sense than an oled touch bar.
to achive that the keyboard should become like the magic keyboard because magic keyboard top row is made of full height keys instead of half height keys like on macbook pros keyboards.

They spent months so that you can plug a lighting cable in to the bottom of the mouse....XD
O, and that freaking Apple Pencil sticking out of iPad Pro and Battery Case......

What, you think people should apologise for being attentive to details?

It's details that matter when it comes down to it.

Two guys with the same looks/job/income - who does the girl choose?

Two cars with the same spec - which badge does the owner choose?

Two CVs on the desk with the same qualifications/experience - who gets the job?

etc.

Details matter to me. And I expect details to matter to those around me. People who say "details don't matter" are not people I want to be around.
