Hello all, while this is not my fav speculative thread, I'm another fanboy waiting for an new rMBP since erroneously I sell mine and intended to replace it with an iPad, you know...

Sometimes I seek rumors where it's more probable you can find one good, but a BIG WARNING, the rumors I collected comes from an anonymous source who posted them at some forum which ends in .onion (Tor Hidden sites, or something like Silkroad for rumors). most rumors there are 99% waste, but sometimes an source is consistent and coherent with expectations, this is the case of the source that talk about Q3 for new Macbook Pro's release.

the same guy also tells about the new keyboard, don't have big speciations on its OLED, its more a way to illuminate it on a very slim surface, he think this OLED isn't graphical but only simple drawings printed not electrically generated graphics (programmable) as the OLED on the Optimums Keyboard, but don't disappoint yet, this Black Stripe over the keyboard not only looks terrific, but actually improves the KBD functionality, as the symbols light-up and change in color (white, red, green, blue), its also a capacitive tactile panel, with GESTURES enabled, you can: touch the screen dim icon and swipe left or right to Dim the screen, same with volume icon, also you can use it to go forward and back on the safari browser, he stands only has seen some printed material but don't seems the icon are pixel-generated (editable/ animated) but simple printed patterns with OLED ink, the good news is the same function stripe will be available on the next wireless keyboard to arrive with the updated iMac.
Please apple make that capacitive area as a clickable circle and call it click-wheel. Oh wait...

I have to admit that I'm getting really excited. All I expected with a new MBP with rMB design cues, new ports, and updated processors, but it seems like we might have something much more interesting and exciting coming up. :) Perhaps Apple isn't phoning it in with the Macs as much as people expected. Maybe they just needed a lot more time to make this new MBP and the technology within it rock solid than people expected.

Also, a 4G LTE MacBook Pro with an unlimited T-Mobile data plan is sounding mighty fine right about now. But, I'm not so confident in that rumor. For how long I keep my MBP's, the LTE radio would be obsolete extremely fast.

Side rumour: new « more space » resolution modes (5120 x 2880 ; 4608 x 2592) suggest potential upgraded iMacs.
just to point out those resolutions are 16:9.
i wouldn't like a wider (eg. shorter) screen in a laptop :/
i hope that will only apply to imacs

iMac's are 16:9 (since 2009). MacBooks are 16:10 (since forever, I think). It seems like Apple has standardized upon this format for their display's and I don't see them deviating. Also, I can't see them putting in a 5k display in a MacBook yet. One of the biggest criticisms of Dell's XPS 15 with the 4k display is poor battery life, so I don't think Apple would surpass them in that department as battery life is king to them. So yes, I would imagine that those correspond to updated iMac's. I hope at least, as Apple will have to pry 16:10 out of my cold, stiff hands. 16:9 is a deal breaker in 13" and 15" displays.

I don't see either why Apple would go with 5K. It would jeopardize battery life and take over the GPU too much in games or other graphic rendering.

I'd rather see the iPad Pro + iMac technology getting into the current Retina. Quality over density ;)

If the base is 13" 256/8, will you guys BTO? I'm thinking I need 512 minimum but 16GB RAM might not be worth it. I have 24 in my iMac and I rarely see usage over 25%.

Any machine I purchase will have to be top of the line. Highest CPU, highest RAM, highest SSD, best GPU. I'm definitely in need of a very high-horsepower machine and Mac OS X is most conducive to my workflow. This Mid-2012 machine, while having an incredibly capable CPU, is lacking in support for 4k displays and I'm frequently running it full-bore with multiple virtual machines and other such tasks. As an InfoSec student, no hardware is quite enough. I'm actually parting out a capable gaming machine as I shift my priorities towards actual work. I'm perfectly content with consoles for free-time gaming, as I'm otherwise much too busy to worry about the upkeep/maintenance of a Windows PC.

I'm seriously thinking to get a "cheap" portable Mac or/and a used macmini, and a more powerfull desktop/used workstation to the more power hungry tasks...
Btw i didn't know the "click wheel Mac" was a "thing" thanks guys

Yes yes yes don't forge to make the "click" sound in stereo, Also give me the IR receiver back. Keep your slot-in dvd Just noisy and unuseful.

ITA refurb store empty again.

Last week, when this happened, once it was up again, they came out with just a few 2015 MBP models and some 2014..

I definitely would like 512GB, but I'm also wavering on 8 or 16GB. I have 8GB at the moment and occasionally the memory pressure in activity monitor goes orange or red when I'm using Photoshop and a few other apps, but not sure if 16GB would be worth the upgrade. The only factor making me think I should is that there's no possibility to do it later.

Maybe they'll start the 13" at 16GB standard like the 15"..? Hopefully..?!
