I follow Jon Rettinger from TechnoBuffalo from time to time...and he's not the type of guy to jeopardize his relations with Apple over a single product leak.
If this is a never before seen product I'm sure Apple has given it to him. Perhaps they'll be holding a press conference tomorrow to reveal the 13" variant for rMB. However...2 things don't seem right. WWDC is around the corner...why not show it there. Secondly, that glittery logo just doesn't seem right...unless Jon put a sticker on it...trying to hide something underneath (return of the glowing logo?).

Also that keyboard looks silver to me...similar to the Surface Book or PowerBook G4 keyboard.

Maybe the glittery thing is just some weird mistake. And maybe Apple does not have time to reveal 13"rmb at wwdc. So they are doing it now

Bingo again....ok you got it guys...but hey this is a macbook pro thread...so we are off topic :)

like second gen macbook, they could show it at March event right? :)

The i7's for the 15" MBP haven't even been available for a month yet (just a couple of weeks), and you expect them to just have a Kaby Lake variant out? That makes no sense. The processors that are appropriate for the rMBP in a Kaby Lake variant won't be out anytime soon.
[doublepost=1464637719][/doublepost]I still can't figure out why they would make a 13" rMB and not a 14" rMB. There can't be much of a difference between 12" and 13" to matter much, is there?

No. What doesn't make sense is that Apple doesn't have Skylake rMBP's for sale in May of 2016. Announcing kaby lake rMBP for Q4 2016 makes more sense to me than releasing a skylake in 2 weeks for release at some future point.

I'm like a lot of others waiting to buy a new laptop but if Apple gets on stage and shows us a skylake MBP for sale this summer, sorry that's not a wow moment. Way too late.

i wonder if some one here know if apple release a silent update to a product at what time they do it ?

I guess you're right...they could've released the pink MacBooks at March...but did a silent unveil anyway.
Crossing my finger for something new tomorrow then.

kaby lake in the mbp has a high possibility to be skiped by apple , like they skipped broadwell and move directly to cannonlake with no alpine bridge

So you think Apple are releasing the 13" rMB tomorrow?

Stop deflecting and find something to support what you just said. In fact, it makes sense that Apple doesn't have 15" MBP's for sale now since the processor chips that have the high end GT4 graphics (Iris Pro 580) have only been available for a very short period of time. I mean, we only got some more definitive benchmarks last week I think!

Announcing Kaby Lake rMBP's for availability sometime in the July through September timeframe is impossible because those chips are not yet available from Intel and won't be for awhile. For instance, quad core chips with GT2 are not slated to be available until 2017 at the earliest. Apple does not use these particular chips however. They use a quad core chip with GT4 graphics in the 15" MBP, and there is nothing I've read that even mentions that one will be released in a Kaby Lake variant. The higher end 28 watt processor that the 13" MBP uses won't be available until very late 2016 or 2017 either.

What doesn't make sense to me is suggesting that Apple take an action that will possibly delay the next-generation MacBook Pro anymore than it already is. Skylake is as good as it will get for awhile, and Kaby Lake isn't that much better.

If they announce a new MB tomorrow(which i highly doubt) it may be a way to calm everyone down and lessen the pain for their September announcement of the mbp? Hope not, but this was the first thing to come to mind. Still hoping for mbp's at wwdc though...

It won't lessen anyone's pain because not a lot of people are cross shopping rMB's and MBP's. If they release this new MacBook, it won't make any difference to those who want a powerful machine with more ports.

Why should they release a 13" MB tomorrow? Why not together with the 12"? This would be the Killer for the Macbook Air.
