NO, because if they have the option of a dGPU, the design of all the 15" Pro's will be much thicker and have the internal space for a dGPU. This is due to the heat, and the physical space needed for the dGPU itself. Apple will not have 2 different designs, one for MBP with dGPU, and one without. That is why this matters to all of us!
are you joking?
almost since the introduction of the retina macbook pros apple has always had a discrete gpu model and an integrated gpu model, and all of them always looked the same outside.
they probably design everything around the more powerful configuration.

Let's keep in mind that during Apple's last conference call for their financial results, an executive (I think it was Luca Maestri) said that they expected sales of Macs to greatly increase around June to July. This has to mean something, right?

Exactly. I said the same thing. Here's the exact quote (talking about Q3):

We expect seasonal sequential declines in iPhone and iPad sales, and a sequential increase in Mac sales.

Unless you're a true gamer that plays AAA titles.
Playing AAA games does not make you a true game ??

I think I can make a pretty convincing argument that people who play the AAA games as they are launched are the more casual gaming audience.

Also fact: iGPUs can play AAA games.
Fact: iGPUs can play some AAA games at max settings max resolution.

Also iGPUs are better than dGPUs for say about 80% of gamers.
And iGPUs are better for say 99% of MacBook Pro buyers.

welp. no MBP at wwdc semi-confirmed?
i'm gonna go cry in the corner now.

What? Where is this semi-confirmed?

If they don't announce the rMBP's at WWDC 2016, there will be no more reason to live.
Yup. Pretty much

are you joking?

No he is not joking. If I wanted a MacBook Pro with an iGPU. I would be pissed if it was designed for a higher model that had a dGPU.

I wish that Cult of Mac wouldn't have put their gigantic, obnoxious watermark right in the middle of the pictures as it obscured the chassis. From what I see, if this is real, then the new MBP will basically have the exact same shape as the current MBP (not a wedge) and will be pretty similar looking. I dislike the fact that it has only USB-C and the fact that the headphone jack is on the right. I prefer it on the left. And what about no MagSafe? That's disappointing.

like always?
Right like always. The current 15"mbp without dgpu. Is one of the worst in the lineup. And worst compared to other pic laptops. Now if it was designed to not have a dgpu it would be slimmer, and take advantage of that space better, and be a much better machine.

I would not recommend to anyone to buy the 15" without dgpu. It's a poorly optimized machine.

If the new mbp has a dgpu option and a no dgpu option. I would surely get the dgpu option.

lol, they've changed the watermark size.

that trackpad looks HUGE, the most disappoint thing is the i can't spot a place to put a touchID sensor other than somewhere where the touchbar will be

I want it too, I'll be studying "3D and Animation" this fall. All Im saying is if Apple can keep the render times as low/lower that the current model with dGPU they might leave the option out this generation because it will allow a thinner design. Lets face it, the current AMD card in the current MBP is not very powerfull, but apple makes it work because they optimize their software. I want the new AMD cards really bad, but my bet would be no dGPU

I'm very much in the camp of I couldn't care less about thinner crap, I want a dGPU and in the next 5 hours AMD will be announcing their new Polaris platform of GPU's which are rumoured to be much much more powerful, they will cream all over any Intel integrated GPU.

Those spy photos look pretty legit. Also, 4 USB-C ports and a headphone jack. Dream come true. I hope those 4 usb c ports are using two separate alpine ridge thunderbolt chips, instead of half of them being tb3 and some being just plain USB C gen 2.

Perhaps it's integrated into the trackpad. Apple is said to be working on tech that will allow them to do this with the iPhone and it's display, thereby removing the home button. They might have the tech ready and have decided to put it in a lower volume product to see how well it works for consumers before they put it into the flagship product.
