Last photo manipulation of the leaked image: it fits the current model perfectly. I wonder why.

I think that's the power button (to keep it physical in case there's a software lock, i.e. hold down for a few seconds to force a power cycle). If it was kept as a 'touch' component within the LED bar, you'd have a hard time rebooting your machine if it hung.
Totally agree, I would also further speculate that there's where Touch ID could technically go. Similarly to a iPhones home button.

is it me or does that trackpad seem huge?

pencil-supporting trackpad confirmed?
I don't know buddy. I don't see That possibility very apple style. I mean the pencil is "the pencil" because you see what your are drawing...I don't know if it is a good idea, you already can use capacitives pens on your trackpad at the moment.
But maybe, the long rumoured touch thing will not only be in the top row of the keyboard but also in the trackpad, so we are going to have a Mac book pro with 3 displays! Half life 3 confirmed!
Jk

Don't know but this last leak it's kind of stressful, it can be everything, even a prototype. In some way I like it, in some other ways, deep in my mind, I know that in this way We have to be prepared to a lot of compromises

I'd bet on top right for Touch ID hidden in OLED screen, possibly doubling as the power on button. Touch ID near trackpad would spoil the minimalist design aesthetic.

i am not getting this about People claiming Macbook Pros will have Kaby Lake. Even thou Intel releases Kabi Lake late 2016, will the proper chips be ready? I always thought Intel released chips at the end of the year, and the macbook pro chips was ready 5-6 months later. Or am i wrong?

I actually think that Apple came up with introducing a touch bar just so they could place in Touch ID. Where else could have they placed it? As a key would be difficult, cause it would still stand out. Trackpad? It would be extremely expensive for such a large area to be security enabled. They couldve created an outline indicating the Touch ID enabled region in the trackpad, but then that wouldve looked odd, and not so minimalist.
The touch bar seems like the best bet they have.

Which makes me wonder, was Touch ID the main reason they conjured up a touch bar?

Looking again at those pictures Looking at the "touch bar row" I can see just two holes. A bigger one on the right, a smaller one on the left bevel.
I'm not a mechanical engineer but at the this means that the bar is going to be glued to the chassis and kept in place by those two holes that will also serve for data and power...i can imagine it just as a "cheap" thing, Really.
I'm going trough the Phase 2 of the after leaks: deluded by things that don't exist.

Thanks for the render.

Do you think it's thinner than the current 13" Rmbp? I actually don't mind if it isn't, however I do want a lighter machine.

I think it will be a lot thinner. If you look at the pictures, the chassis of the new MacBook Pro is as thick as the thickest part of the retina MacBook.

retina MacBook: 1,31cm at the thickest point
retina MacBook Pro today: 1.8cm

So that's 0,5cm slimmer. Pretty impressive if you ask me.

Since the pictures are missing the unibody bottom cover (the screwed-in lid at the bottom), i'd say the jury is still out on the thickness front. we can't really infer much from this leak :/ it does seem like the flat sides of the new rMBP will be more or less identical in height to those on the current rMBPs.

ive seen this before in real life, but the bezels are not the same, in that compression they are exactly the same, so reduce them just a little and post again plz

Here's a thought on storage for the new MBP. As it seems to be so much slimmer, perhaps it'll use the just announced stamp sized, 1 gram Samsung NVMe SSDs.

These go up to 512MB, so that's lower than the 1TB currently offered. However.... What if Apple puts 2 in the MBP, in a RAID0 (or similar) setup? This would take it up to 2x512 = 1TB (and 128x2 and 256x2 for the lower end models).

Two of these still take much less space and weight (and power?) than an M.2 SSD, and would theoretically double the speeds from 1500/900MB to an insane 3000/1800MB R/W per sec. Of course there's some concern in reliability (if one of the SSD's breaks down, all your data is gone) but Samsung SSDs have proven to be way more reliable than the magnetic disks Apple put in laptops just a few years back, so personally I wouldn't worry about this.

Hmm with 4 USB-C, should we assume that if it will charge like the rMB, that we can plug it into the port we want to use? For example have the charger on the other side.
If so, would it be possible to chain link the new MBP to others and have them charge with on charger in standby. It will take longer but do you think it would be possible?
I do not really know what the usage of this should be, but theoretical?

I am definitely going to miss magsafe, not too fussed about usb and card slot.
Just a thought but any chances of additional ports at the back OR in the screen like on surface book...?

Wow.
I went to sleep, I woke up, and BAM! +10 pages to read! o_O
This thread is getting intense!
:D

Thanks for the photoshopping, @ShadovvMoon! It's really good. I was just wondering where did you find another leaked picture.. now it make sense.
I have to admit, despite just the USB-C ports, it looks beautiful.
Still, I have serious doubts about:
- the MagSafe, but that space on the side is suspicious
- the OLED panel. That still sounds gimmick to me. I can't wait to see it in real life.

Oh well, just 12 days left.
I'll prepare myself for the big event.
Respecting the traditions, I'll be drunk the night before WWDC, and then I'll see the Live conference with FritzCola and popcorn.
Yay!
