Wow, I expected more posts today, considering the last stream of consciousness!
:D

Anyway, I'm still in love with those photoshops. I just hope that MagSafe will survive.

4 USB-C ports is overkill. Not necessary especially when you can drive a screen and charge your laptop (for example) over one cable.

...are you kidding, right? Right??
o_O

First you want a Mac with no ports except for USB-C.
Then when it comes up, they're still too many (oh my god four ports are ruining such beautiful design!!1!).
Is there any way to make you satisfied?!

The hype is real.
I want to believe the leaks so bad, but its not gonna happen (at wwdc).

I think he really just wants a rMB.

You forgot that the rMB still has a headphone jack ! Doesn't fit the criteria either ;)

But I agree with Oppenheim on a lot of points though.

Anyway let's just pray for an announcement at wwdc, release right afterwards or next weeks.
This wait is so tiring ..

So, based on recent comments from some (charger & hinge), it sounds like that OLED touch strip might not be on the Pro model, but an updated Macbook model? Or do those in the know feel this leaked thing, given the ports, is the Pro model?

It's almost definitely the Pro - it's not tapered, like the MacBook lineup is, it has lots of ports, it's thicker than the existing MB (presumably to allow it to have Core i series processors, rather than Core M), it has the OLED touch bar which has been reported before in regard to the Pro model... essentially, if it isn't the Pro, then nobody has any clue what Apple is doing for the new MBPs. Everything about it suggests that it's a Pro model, and if there is an updated MacBook, it wouldn't look like this, and I doubt Apple would give the MacBook such a significant update just 3 months after it got Skylake.

Ty. I am hoping it IS the Pro model. I can see this being a huge step forward in the human device interface arena when you pair that OLED screen with Siri...you will be able to, hopefully, talk and dictate things in a "sidebar" manner with Siri and you'll be able to see when she's listening and dictating becuase the OLED strip might be used like a message crawler screen as you speak. And you won't have to give up valuable laptop screen to get immediate visual feedback from Siri. I look forward to a day when we are NOT as reliant on keyboards to communicate with our computers- and that needs to be a two way street. And since Siri is, apparently, coming to OSX, it makes sense that the device hardware would change to incoporate that human/machine connection. I'm excited about the possibilty of what this OLED strip might do when used as a bridge for Siri, way beyond just replacing function keys.

Guys, from what I'm reading around, this thread is the very last happy land for those wishing to see new MBP atbthe WWDC.

Everybody seem to ve very very very cautios and nearly discouraging believers...

it will have magsafe charging and an sd card reader.
Is that you, Serban#2?
It's more like Serban is bfreek#2. This is the guy that claimed he had a *source* who had information about the MBP during September of last year.
*the source* says, contrary to the press™ and gruber, that there will be an october event because the ipad pro needs more of an introduction pre-sale and the 21" 4k imac is in production and will likely be revealed. also, that'll be the day the skylake mbp will be released. beware: i've asked specifically about the 15" model and he responded that way. so my estimate is: this might mean apple already has skylake-h + iris pro chips, they don't and will use the chips with the hd 530 or they'll only update the 13" model and announce an updated 15" model for "later this year".
i don't. skylake macbooks will most likely be revealed in oct. they have the hardware ready as per *the source*. the question is: with what specs and when will sales begin.
*the source* has a 15" skylake mbp with a yet to be released i7 with iris pro graphics in a current-generation shell. the cpu is suspected to be released in nov/dec.

three other source's colleagues are sort of confirming an oct event. plus it is marked in some sort of internal schedule to be happenig.

what i make of this: no majorly redesigned mbp, just skylake upgrade announced at an oct event. sales will start dec.

I've just found an amazing deal for a pretty much brand new MacBook Pro 15 2.5/16/512/dGPU for exactly £1000! I know it'll be snapped up by WWDC but a part of me is telling me to hold till WWDC! Ahhhhh first world problems!

the new ‘Thunderbolt Display’ will likely feature a 5K resolution display 5120×2880 pixels. Moreover, sources indicate that Apple will take the display in a surprising direction, specifically suggesting that Apple plans to integrate a dedicated external GPU into the display itself

Possible new Thunderbolt Display with integrated GPU.
