In summary...
Between September-October Apple is going to release:
-New macbook pro.
-New macbook with bigger screen.
-New mac mini.
-New Mac Pro.
-New Imac (maybe only 21,5" version to skylake).
-New 5k display.
-New accesories.
-New ipads (ipad pro 12,9" and ipad mini).
-New iphones.
-New Apple Watch 2.
-New apple tv with 4k (maybe).

So, Apple is going to change its entire product line in two months??? It doens't have any sense. If you stagger the product launches during the year, the people can focus in a few products each time, and they're going to buy more things. But, if you release all things together, the people will be confuse, and won't spend a big amount of money to buy so many things at the same time...

That list is one of the reasons I'm still hoping in some kind of updating.
Apple has too many stuff that need upgrade, they can't wait too much and at the same time they can't present them all at once in a single event.

Quite.

And I also wonder why would Apple release a new rMBP range after the beginning of the school/university term, when they clearly would miss out on a lot of sales, so i'm hoping that points at something next week!

As others have pointed out, the whole range ('cept rMB) has a "Don't Buy" status, which I think is quite embarrassing for Apple, and if it's not - it should be! Unfortunately, I don't think anybody is listening.

I'm hoping for a new rMBP next week!

Between September-October Apple is going to release:

-New macbook pro. Yes
-New macbook with bigger screen. Maybe
-New mac mini. Maybe
-New Mac Pro. Wouldn't hold my breath
-New Imac (maybe only 21,5" version to skylake). Probably
-New 5k display. Wouldn't hold my breath
-New accesories. Watch bands are almost certainly most definitely coming!
-New ipads (ipad pro 12,9" and ipad mini). Don't think so
-New iphones. Yes
-New Apple Watch 2. Yes
-New apple tv with 4k (maybe). Don't think so

My "predictions" are based on:
– MBP is definitely due a revamp
– The new Macbook is a bit like marmite, and I would love to know how well it actually sells, but something has to replace the Air... so maybe
– I don't think Apple necessarily target people who would buy Mini or Pro anymore. "Super. Computer." Get an iPad Pro everyone. /s
– Not quite sure that the Thunderbolt display is getting updated, like, ever. If you want a big screen buy a very expensive iMac. Otherwise buy something portable.
– I wouldn't think that the iPad series are going to be refreshed every year now, with dropping sales and not so many things left to include.
– Apple TV has only been end of October 2015, and previous update has been 2012. I don't see them updating it again unless they manage to indeed sign deals with content providers and turn it into cable TV.

But I am not a generally respected or well connected analyst, so I might be completely wrong. :)

I work in 2 different offices, and have a home desktop, I haven't had a single monitor setup since 2008, surely apple wants a piece of that (6 screens, in my case..) market..?

-New macbook pro. Yes
-New macbook with bigger screen. Maybe?
-New mac mini. Have doubts
-New Mac Pro. Maybe
-New Imac (maybe only 21,5" version to skylake). I'm thinking slight redesign is coming for this after Macbook Pro.
-New 5k display. Hopefully
-New accesories. Probably
-New ipads (ipad pro 12,9" and ipad mini). Probably
-New iphones. Definitely
-New Apple Watch 2. Definitely
-New apple tv with 4k (maybe). Please.

More high end watch bands... Definitely..

Can't wait for Monday so that I can finally see if im stuck with my dying 2010 or getting a new machine! :) the only thing that suprises me is that the battery is still intact after 6 years despite the dGPU problems and daily heavy usage...

Games are increasingly for 40 year-old losers. Not too many kids to play games these days.

Just out of curiosity, why do "audio" folks need such high end performance? I can understand video folks needing as bit of portable grunt.
[doublepost=1465079594][/doublepost]

Don't audio professionals insist on 6mm jacks for analog? (Those that work in non-digital studios anyway...)

1. Before, only "nerds" used to play video games, now it's like everybody does (from kids to recent adults, from nerds to cool people, from guys to girls). A trend? Maybe, but video game industry moves more money than Film and Music industry together, so I wouldn't say games are a niche. Maybe you are the one that becomes old?

2. Audio folks need high end performance since every time more and more they are moving from expensive hardware to plugins and vsts. And since a mixing project can have like 80 tracks, every track with various audio processing steps, while trying to have the lowest latency... Yeah, thats massive CPU power needed, not like a render which is 100% CPU intensive for hours, but close.

3. Audio professionals don't even use minijacks-jacks for computers, they use external DACs or soundcards, thing that seems to be messed with El Capitan.

I'm looking forward to the new Macbook Pro. I want to replace both my iMac late 2013 (21.5 inch) and my Macbook Air mid 2012 (maxed out specs, 13 inch-model) with an 15-inch Macbook Pro... I still hope that Apple will come with an update during WWDC (though the odds are not in our favor) as I really want to use OS X on a proper retina screen. Reading text on my MBA really hurts my eyes after using my iPhone 6 Plus or iPad Pro for a couple of hours...

#2. Yes, it's all about CPU speeds for processing plug-ins and drive speeds for playing Back 30 to 80 traks. Using different playback buffer sizes for recording and mixing helps.

#3 I only use Apogee interfaces and they are rock solid in El Capitan. But I hope they release a USBc cable for the Duet/Quartet. They are already all in on Thunderbolt.

I hope the new MBP will be released next week. Am moving to Australia and apple products are 20-30% more expensive than every other country.

Sigh. Have been waiting for MBP until my hair turns white.

I may be getting my hopes up here but the UK Apple store custom build MBP 15" now ships 16-20 June. Custom build iMac (for comparison) ships 13-15 June, as does Mac Pro. Mac Mini 14-16 June.

Interestingly custom MBA also ships 16-20.

It may simply be that MBP/MBAs normally have a longer lead time than iMacs etc (different factories) but given that these are higher volume products this is a little bit surprising. Based on this flimsy evidence I predict MBP announcement at WWDC and MBA being phased out "as MB and MBP are both thinner and lighter".

yes final cut pro needs ram often
[doublepost=1465110171][/doublepost]
why you think that only MBA is a great comp, i think 13"MBP is even better thanks to its screen. Yes its heavier but you got a lot for a little extra

Well I have an 11 inch air that I love for the sheer portability. On the other hand a colleague has both Air and Pro 13 in his family and thinks the experience is overall better on the pro, not just due to the screen but the overall experience of the OS.

I have choices, I would prefer one computer to do everything and I do sometimes play games so 15 inch with Polaris would do, on the other I'm buying a PC for games and if I accept that is not what Macs are designed to do then 13MBP, Macbook 12 or even MBA 11 would all fit my needs for my 'main' computer. Why not just a PC? Well the viruses for one and I'm drawn to both the Mac hardware and software and I can afford it. One day we'll have a Macbook with Canonlake that can drive a 5K screen. That would do nicely.

Which means that either something is coming out in June, some of these products are being discontinued (*cough* Mac Pro, Mac Mini, Cinema display), or some of these things will be delayed until Q1 2017! There is no way that all of these are coming out in October. It makes no sense whatsoever. They had a freakin' watch band event for crying out loud... (okay, it was also an iPad event, but it wasn't much--and now they're going to release 11 products in one event?)

Deja vu. This sort of posts started the "rMBP being released at the march event" craze. I was quick to show everyone that those shipping dates fluctuate A LOT during the year, most didn't listen as it's typical. If you look 300+ pages back, one can see the same thing happened. Custom builds of MacBooks doesn't mean absolutely anything, what DOES indicate imminent release is when stock (non-BTO, un-configured models) start being delayed considerably. But I'm sure (even after this), posts will follow claiming that shipping dates for custom rMBPs in X country are slipping, and so begins Phase 1 of the "Waiting for Skylake MBP thread" seasonal nuclear meltdown (just like in march).
Phase I: start making up reasons why X product has to be released. Any little thing even if unrelated counts.
Phase II: people get on the hype train, mass delusion follows.
May I go on? ;D

It doesn't make sense for Apple to release no hardware in June too. They have released the SE, 9.7 IPP and the lousier MacBook this year only. It will make more sense to spread their offering around the year. Who has the money to buy Watch, TV, MBP, Ipads and Iphone7 all between Sep and Oct?

This thread is just an eternal loop.
Still it is so funny!

But seriously, you have to admit that this time clues were pointing more clearly to a WWDC release, than the March Event.
If we will be disappointed (as I think we'll be...), the disappoint will be even worst than usual.

USB-C seems perfect for audio pros. They can connect their specialised external sound cards, etc. almost directly to the bus and enjoy amazing bandwidth and incredibly low latency.

The consumers and their tinny low quality headphones need to be shown/told what's good for them.

I really hope there's no 44kHz audio port and just two USB c ports. One on either side. I intend buying a new 5k screen from apple. I will be able to charge and drive a display from a single port. Amazing. That leaves one free for general purpose use. The fewer cables the better. If you need a bunch of USB devices like a Jimi Hendrix pedal set up, go buy a USB-c hub. Apple helps us to simplify and helps design orientated folks to achieve high level objectives by inspiring them with the work of the planet's best designers. Facilitating "compatibility" and "legacy" backwards compatibility so Jonny can connect his cheap 4TB Chinese external hard disk over USB2.0 is not the Apple way.

I want a clean desk and no holes. Too much to ask for?

The difference being that in March intel didnt have the Quad Core Skylakes avaiable, so either Apple would just release the 13'', or they would release none.

So anyone that hoped at the time the Mac's were going to launch, wasn't paying very much attention.

This time around tho, all the chips are avaiable. The only reason feasable for the Macs not coming in the WWDC is either Apple waiting on Polaris, or Apple waiting on Polaris AND Zen if they choose to switch the CPU's to AMD as well.

A Zen APU in the 13" could be amazing. Significantly better GPU performance.

But that's not at all likely. I find it hard to believe Apple would risk AMD supply issues given GlobalFoundries past, let alone the fact Zen APU's won't be out this year.
