If you can, look for a used one. Just picked up a 2014 rMBP for a smashing price, and equally I saw a maxed out 2015 model for around half the RRP whilst only being a few months old.

Which leads me to say, it's been fun being part of this thread, but I am now going to wait for Gen2 of the redesign, hopefully with cannon lake.

Just noticed custom config ship times are now 4-6 days. A promising sign.

Even better - I just did an custom config here in Australia and is - Order today, delivers:14/06/2016 - 17/06/2016.

This was a custom build on a 13" RMBP btw........

It would make me happy to have a new 13" i7 with an new 27" retina monitor.

Mark Gurman said WWDC will be software only. I don't want to believe him tho

You will never get solid 60 fps with full rMBP resolution. 1080p, yes.

Well yes, having played it on several other machines and seeing how well it plays on different levels of hardware, there's no way it will play smoothly at the rMBP 15 native resolution. My problem is I can hardly get it to play smoothly at 1280x800, with all settings set to low. It runs smoothly when the m370x is running at full speed, but once it starts to throttle due to thermal issues, the game goes down to 20-30fps for me. The poster above is claiming to have achieved smooth frames with the m370x and I'm wondering how they did it (if it is true).

You know that Overwatch is Windows only and will never be released on macOS. The developers already confirmed that.. And by the way... Overwatch is just a mix of League of Legends and Unreal Tournament. Nothing unique or special.. Its interesting for 20 hours but after you know how to counter your opponents champion, its easy and gets boring over the time.

Overwatch players who are playing on macs are using bootcamp of course...and as far as it staying fun after 20 hours it's a subjective thing. I've probably put that many hours into the game already and it is still really fun for me.

MBP CTO delivery dates are strange right now
Yeah...about that. This is my post from just 2 pages back.
Deja vu. This sort of posts started the "rMBP being released at the march event" craze. I was quick to show everyone that those shipping dates fluctuate A LOT during the year, most didn't listen as it's typical. If you look 300+ pages back, one can see the same thing happened. Custom builds of MacBooks doesn't mean absolutely anything, what DOES indicate imminent release is when stock (non-BTO, un-configured models) start being delayed considerably. But I'm sure (even after this), posts will follow claiming that shipping dates for custom rMBPs in X country are slipping, and so begins Phase 1 of the "Waiting for Skylake MBP thread" seasonal nuclear meltdown (just like in march).
Phase I: start making up reasons why X product has to be released. Any little thing even if unrelated counts.
Phase II: people get on the hype train, mass delusion follows.
May I go on? ;D

It's happening just as predicted. Brace yourselves, "Custom build macbooks shipping date slippin' " posts are coming

So, Mark Gurman reported that WWDC wouldn't include new hardware... And we're all rightly disappointed at the suggestion.

But if, as the rumor mill suggests, WWDC 2016 will be a software-focused event, what exactly will it be about? From all I've read, there are a few software gimmicks/features like more Siri, a better Apple Music interface, ApplePay in iMessage, and more encryption. That's hardly enough to warrant another March Event, let alone a whole WWDC.

I'm in the camp of people not expecting MBPs at WWDC (30/70 odds anyway), but there has to be something the rumor mill is missing about WWDC.

Last WWDC was software only...and it lasted 2.2 hours. With 4 OSs, I think you can fill 2 hours. Last WWDC they only had 3 OSs.

And included a huge Apple Music demonstration, I remember.

Has anyone figured out what the big reveal this year will be? I'm not saying it's hardware, I'm just saying nobody has the full story yet.

I personally don't find Apples Software very interesting. They go on and on about all the "Amazing" additions to OS X and IOS that essentially come down to small features that the average user may or may not ever even use. Its hard to get excited about iterative software updates.

The mbp chassis leaked seems to have the size of 13"-14" model. Doesn't it?
Moreover, the actual 13" rmpb is the best selling apple pro laptop. It would be very risky to remove it from the line.
But this question is very important. The most from my point of view. Without talking about MBA, what models do you think will be the components of macbook-macbook pro line at the end of the year?

A) 12"mb and 13-14"mb plus. 13-14"mbpro and 15-16"mbpro.
B)12"mb and 13-14"mb plus.15-16"mbpro.
C)12"mb and 14-15" mbpro(fusing both actual sizes in one).
D)12"mb, 13-14"mbpro and 15-16"mbpro.
E)other combination.
i dont believe the chassis leak is real sadly - or the OLED strip. just a fake to get our hopes up :(

Considering what is assumed to be a radical new design and specs do you think the MacBook Pro will have an increased price? Looking at the price of the MacBook I would think the MacBook Pro certainly isn't going to drop in price.

Really, for the 15" I think this is reasonable:
1799-256/16/2.6/Iris Pro
1999-256/16/2.6/dGPU
2199-512/16/2.7/dGPU

Considering what the competition has put out, it should be getting a price drop especially for the Iris Pro-only model. If it's still $1999 for the Iris Pro model, that OLED touch bar better cook me breakfast. I don't even want the dGPU, but I'm certainly not going to pay the same price as a GTX 970M equipped Razer Blade or GTX 960M equipped XPS 15 for an Iris Pro only machine.

Don't be silly, of course they'll charge you the same price as a laptop with a great dGPU it's Apple remember.. probably charge you more because it's 'thin'

There are a lot of chances that there will be no macbooks at WWDC, so I would suggest to cope with the fact that we're not getting any macbooks at wwdc, as sad as it is, and don't even hope for it, the feel of disappointment will be even worse. whatever happens at wwdc, happens.

If no macbooks, then ok, we expected it, if there are actually macbooks, then imagine the surprise!
