Guys... I gave up. I don't think they will announce it in WWDC. I'm sticking with my 2015 15 inch mbp

What's wrong with the 2015 version ? It's an awesome device! If I bought a new 2015 model I would not upgrade to a 2016 version, be satisfied !

As opposed to buying... another 2015 15" rMBP? Unless your laptop is dying because you threw it in a swimming pool or something, what difference does the release date make? I'll be disappointed if it doesn't come out though because I advised so many people in December to wait until WWDC for those ~amazing~ graphics improvements :(

Apple has no excuse to not release a new rMBP in June/July. All of the parts should be available so I'll be very annoyed if they delay it simply because they're waiting for the new macOS to be released.

I am sure that they are waiting for the new OS. The new toolbar is also a reason for the delay of the new Macbooks. They will disgrace themself if the oled bar is not mellow.

It's also possible that they are waiting on Polaris, which might not be available in volume until later in the summer (for the mobile variants). Of course, that would not make sense for the 13", unless they are going to surprise us all and shoehorn a dGPU into it, which I highly doubt. I'm not so sure that it's the OS that they are waiting for. It would make more sense to ship a custom version of El Capitan that supports it, even if it won't support third-party apps until 10.12 (which was speculated).

I just believe that there is a good reason for all of this waiting. I mean, being late to market doesn't do Apple any good at all and it pisses off their customers. So, it makes sense for their to be a reason that isn't ambivalence or laziness. I'll "Think Positive".

plot twist: what if instead of announcing new HW Apple announces rMBP compatible Kaby Lake chips in cooperation with Intel, giving the world a first look at the new Apple optimized features Intel gave them so that Devs can build SW that takes full advantage?

obvs kidding... it'd be a shocker for me the Mac gets a mention beyond macOS

Ok, so I'm lumping on a big 10th anniversary announcement for rMBP with sales to roll out over the summer.

You know it makes sense.

P.S- if you have the 2015 model already why would you upgrade on this one?
Just curious?

P.P.S- Gurman probably been told to throw in a curve ball.. ;)

Shouldn't that be redHeadedStepChildOS?

I don't for a minute think they're lazy. Not with this product. I don't think they're waiting for mass production of Polaris either. It just doesn't make sense to wait on the 13 and entry-level 15 (which I imagine are the majority) just because the high end 15 would be supply constrained. It wouldn't be the end of the world to have the high end 15 be supply constrained for a couple of months.

What delay? Beyond BTO taking longer?
Apple if it wants could delay BTO orders that'd be delivered post WWDC if hey wanted - past behaviour for say May BTO MBP 2012 may give historical behaviour.

A week away and effectively a lot is unknown in the details of hardware and timings, and software is hugely Unknown. Kinda exciting!

I'm sure in a couple of days info will start spilling out. That's what usually happens.

Too easy with editing and with a solution already given.
o_O
First I noticed the lack of the at the back, realized u edited them away, but the answer is in the camera. Also i have owned the 5 and the 5s, so i knew about the polished edges on the 5s, rly not that hard. But I did see ur point with the lack of "moving forward" and imho the iPhone 6 is an ugly phone.

OK Jimi. Whatever you say.
It seems you ran out of arguments, since that's the best you could come with. Oh, and thanks to compare me with a legend, but you should fix your obsession with Hendrix, it won't do you any good ;)

lolwut? Do you even have kids? Video games outsell movies and music combined, League of Legends viewership surpassed the final game of the World Series, and universities are starting to offer eSports scholarships, but games are just for 40 year-old losers?

He's a troll here, my bad for feeding him before.

well it seams you like to fry eggs on your laptop -- thats what you can do with that kind of old hardware and of course the sound of the fast rotating fans is not bad, well touch screen is nice but not needed neither thunderbolt 3 and more memory -- we don't need it -- it is more a burden then useful ...

An actual question: Looking back in Apple history, do devices that aren't the main focus products (so basically everything except iPhone), do they normally get good leaks before their launch or because of the lack of interest of general public it's more of a chaotic - sometimes do, sometimes don't - kind of a situation?

Nope. If you have seen the chassis with 4 USB-C's, then you've seen it all and can consider yourself as one of the most up-to-date man in the whole wide universe
yup, seen it. how many do think it's fake though?
personally, i don't think it's real, i wish.

The guys who are "so impatient" waiting with 2015 macbook pros are kinda funny.
Try a core 2 duo macbook pro 2010 and see.

Also waiting for polaris makes no sense. 13 inch model will not use it, and they may release it in June/July and leave 15 MBP to Fall with Polaris thing. They have done this before.

Also revealing OLED bar for developers to work on makes perfect sense. But I think they already do this with Adobe/Microsoft and other high profile guys, just in secrecy.

13" nrMBP consumers have the right to be angry if nothing drops next week. Yields were a good excuse back in March but other machines already sport the same chips. It's highly doubtful that Apple would hold back the 13" (which probably sells more units than the 15") and the non gpu 15" waiting for Polaris/dGPU especially if it's only on the highest trim. That would be beyond nuts.

nMP didn't. Apple told us there was a refresh coming, some rumours as to timing of announcement but nothing of note.
Sometimes they do sow times they don't. See say nMP (no real substantive leaks) vs MacBook 12" (9tp5mac and Gurman did well here months and a month before with more)

I'm sorry, what are you complaining about? There's no official acronym for the unreleased machines so relax.

You see?
You see, Apple, what you made?!
A lot of confusing acronyms for confusing different products!

So get rid of MBA and cnrMBP, no more retina-moniker and just release the new MBP already!
