They better announce the new MacBook Pro next week. And they better fix their whole laptop lineup too.
There simply is no MacBook for average consumers right now, and this is going to be a huge problem for them if they decide to release new MacBooks later this year.
I'm a student and I do not necessarily need the performance of the Pro, but I'm not going to spend a fortune for an completely underpowered MacBook and I'm not going to buy a discontinued Air with an outdated screen. And I've heard a lot of people say the same thing.

If they are not going completely insane, they would be well advised if they drop the Air, cut the MacBook price to $999 and keep the same price tag for the new Pro.

Yep, interesting.
I'm still doubtful about this OLED keyboard.
I'm curious, if Apple will implement it, how it will work.

The trackpad is insanely huge.
Maybe Apple Pencil support?
Still, space stolen to battery...

If the trackpad is actually that large it would have to come with more uses.

MacBook is more power than you will ever use as a student. I felt the same, but do more research. The MacBook can do anything the average user/student needs just fine. The price is another story.

Looks great. I hear the rMB speakers are phenomenal, via MKBHD, so one on each side should be awesome.

It's not meant to, but the OLED bar in that concept still just looks like a capacitive panel. I know there are other concepts floating around. I see the OLED bar like an elongated Apple Watch. I hope it has color. Besides just a replacement for functions and possibly custom buttons per app, it should have standalone features. Maybe notifications, or the ability to respond to a message or email without disrupting the content on the screen. It'd also be cool if your Siri responses came up on there as well. I can see Apple gearing it toward the small tasks you do that shouldn't take away from your main task.

Apple. NOBODY CARES ABOUT YOUR STUPID WATCHBANDS.
They silent update their MacBook but they take 20 minutes to talk about f****** watchbands?
I can see them change the mechanism on the 2 though, to earn money all over again.
On topic: AMD gpu's would be great, and those speakers! Haven't heard them yet but every reviewer says they're amazing. Anyone here who can confirm that? Are they good for its size or just good.

Gizmodo is reporting that hardware updates at WWDC are likely. It seems like tech sites are reporting whatever they want now, I don't know what to believe.

I think Gizmodo is just guessing - it seems they think new MBPs are coming simply because it's been over a year, rather than having sources say so. And they also say the MacBook Air will get an update, which won't happen - it's a dead, and budget, line. They might be correct, but Gurman has a much, much better record.

Yeah, you're probably right about the power and I would go get it tomorrow if it was $999. But it's just not worth it's actual price.
What I was trying to say is that there's simply no decent Apple laptop in the thousand dollars prince range and that's gotta change.

I have the rMB. They are phenomenal... for their size. They're not better than the current 15" MBP speakers. At least to my ears. But, they are better than the 13". So they should be an upgrade but don't expect miracles.

Better than the 13" rMBP and better than my 15" cMBP. More bass and louder. Can't comment on them compared to the 15" rMBP's speakers though.
