What about something like this then?
MBP_esc.jpg

no one is able to understand what they are planning, so it seems quite useless to keep speculate...

We are getting to many conflicting "leaks" and "rumors" and all are from "reliable sources"!

We all will be splitted in 3 categories after WWDC:
  1. those who will buy an Apple laptop no matter what
  2. those who will keep waiting till < xxx > (add month here)
  3. those who will skip the boath for something else

And in the end, none of these groups will be fully satisfied

Here's a quick mockup:

Would it really be that hard to adjust? (Genuine question, I don't use the `/~ enough to ever really be bothered by it moving.) I've had a look, and the French-Canadian keyboard is pretty different. We're only talking about two keys here really.

nice mockup, but i'm not sure about the repositioned esc key though.
each national keyboard has its own special keys and functions, it'll be silly to remove one key just for the sake of.. of what?
esc and power button should remain physical keys, and the latter somehow get touchID function!

besides, am i the only one who really doesn't like the big right/left keys?
i'm sad that the slim keys will be gone with next redesign...

There is hope! Though I don't think Gurman has ever been proven wrong before, but I guess there's a first time for everything. This new rumour does link nicely with the production photos and hinges orders.

The article mentions MagSafe 2 which is interesting - could be a sign that MagSafe is indeed coming... or that they're completely wrong. Not sure which to believe.

I think you misread that part unfortunately:
The article actually says, that the nMBP is DITCHING MagSafe2 (currently in use) in favor of USB-C.

Last year the UK promotion launched on 7th August, though the US promotion launched a lot later last year, in late July, so we may get it in the UK sometime in July.

Though of course the discount is year-round, so despite needing a MBP for university in September I'm going to wait for the eventual update... though I would really like some free wireless Beats headphones.
It's a good incentive! Either for keeping or selling

There's something unclear for me with the OLED bar at the top and the POWER button, which might be part of the bar.

What if for some reason the bar breaks (water, display fail, software freeze etc). How would you turn your MacBook off ? The hardware power key as it is now is safe to use, no matter what (doesn't break - it's solid as you can see). The power button on a display it's a bit risky...

I love apple sales - I did a chat with sales because I'm pulling the trigger on the buy and they said that they might price match the lower price at B&H. I called - and they said that apple is offering a "special setup support" line where the users walk through setup videos with an apple support advisor and that's its only available to people that buy from apple directly. After I stopped laughing and told her I've never heard of such a thing - she said it's new. In the end they didn't price match - but I could still get a pair of beats wireless headphones....

I can already hear thousands people scream as Air gets updated to Skylake and suddenly silenced when it has the same screen.

or is this so called "Air" referring to the rumoured 13" rMB..?

And if so, will it (like the 13" MBA had more ports & SD card slot over the 11" MBA) be better "equipped" than the one-eyed rMB... :)

It would make no sense for them to announce new Macs now if they aren't shipping until August, when they just started the back to school promotion.

Edit: Well I guess there are other Macs to buy besides the Pro. Carry on.
