How much do you guys want to bet the Apple's marketing department is the one behind all of this? They might be putting anything and everything out there in order to throw us off. That way they might actually be able to surprise us for the first time in years.

Polaris 11 has not 10 but 20 CUs. If it is 10 CU design that means the GPU will be... rebranded Cape Verde.

Or semi-custom Chip made specifically for Apple.
Oh god. Not *another* Cape Verde chip...I can totally see Apple doing this though.

It specifically says Polaris. That is the new chip name. If it's Polaris, it's GCN 4 and 14nm.
But still, 1-1.25 teraflops seems much closer to the ~0.99 teraflop m370x than what we were hoping for with Polaris 11. I thought it was supposed to be around 2.5?

When it sounds too good to be true...

That would be amazing though :D

Dear God, let there be a revival of the "one more thing" at the end of this year's WWDC. I won't care if they spend an hour talking about watch bands if they end with a "one more thing" announcement of new MBPs...I don't even care if they're released right away. I just need verification via an announcement. I need closure.

PLEEEEASSEEEE!

Your prayers are answered. Apple will now spend an hour talking about watch bands after their "One More Thing".

If no pros are released at wwdc this thread simply won't make it to whenever the refresh is supposed to be. Everyone used to be super chill and cordial, now you got people claiming to be insiders, people getting ansy over every little thing, ban hammers dropping left and right. You would think after all these pages we would stop arguing about dGPU , usb-c ports and "what about kaby lake?" but nope the only thing that changes are the page numbers and the participants.

If they are announced, expect 300 pages of jubilation and brotherhood.
True. Personally, this is a great thread as long as you don't take it seriously. For a lot of us - it's just a simple thing - we need hardware and don't want to pay $2K+ if something new is dropping before school begins. End of story.

My trackpad is acting up again and if there is an announcement on Monday for the new macbook pro 2016 then I am going to make an appointment for my macbook pro retina and have them replace it for a shiny new 2016 macbook pro. If it is announced and if it is released soonish. Made an appt. for monday june 13th, 2016 at 4pm good idea, bad idea?

They promise a performance gain of that, yes. We will have to see if architecture improvements make the gap larger than it may seem.

"The support.apple.com page isn’t working"

could this be some sort of sign?

Have you had 4-5 repairs on the computer? If not, they're not just going to swap out the computers just because of trackpad issues

You don't even know, it's been about 5 repairs (trackpad a few times, keyboard a once, battery 3 times and ssd once). And they told me the next time (now) it acts up it should be a replacement. It's a 512gb ssd do you think I would be able to upgrade to a 1tb for a price? I have enough experience to know that this time it really should be replaced. I haven't bought a macbook pro since 2010. And originally it cost me about $1,350 from best buy open item and I bought applecare. Long story short I've gotten 2 replacements and have had 3 computers since 2010. This 2013 being the longest lasting one.

TechnoBuffalo : "Major Macbook Air and Macbook Pro refreshes expected at WWDC"

We went from being certain that we would see a rMBP at WWDC to being crushed at Q4 predictions to being even more crushed by Gurman's predictions and now, 5 days from WWDC, a rMBP AND MBA is "expected"? The general consensus three days ago was it wasn't happening and the MBA was dead. This has gotten insane.

Its the luck of the draw, my original vintage 2006 Macbook Pro is still going hard in the paint, my 2008 gave up the ghost and was replaced with a 2010 which never had any issues.

Sure, Apple has occasionally used WWDC to unveil new hardware, but it has never been the focus of the event.

yes it has, many times

lol don't bother quoting technobuffalo. It's a site that leeches off of rumors and tries to make sensational headlines.

Sorry, can't quote anything right now... But to Volcom and Aaron re: Tim Cook using "One more thing..."

He already said it last WWDC, just before unveiling Apple Music.

As much as I'm eagerly awaiting a new MBP, I don't expect a mainline machine to be a "One More Thing" ever again unless it's the first ever consumer-ready quantum computing processor or something like that.

I just noticed something watching the introduction of the 2012 rMBP's at the 2012 wwdc they adapted or implemented features of the macbook air into the rMBP's. And now in 2016 4 years later they will adapt or implement the features of the rMB into the 2016 rMBP's (truly we shall see).
[doublepost=1465439876][/doublepost]@kevinkyoo I forgot to mention they replaced the entire screen too because the tint was peeling off.
[doublepost=1465440802][/doublepost]Anyone down to leak any info if the new rMBP's are going to be announced on Monday?
