No.

http://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2016/05/intels-post-tick-tock-kaby-lake-cpus-definitely-coming-later-this-year/

"...
Rumors say the Kaby Lake launch will start with low-voltage Core i3/i5/i7 and Core m3/m5/m7 CPUs for laptops and convertibles first and come to desktops later—Asus is already showing off a Surface clone with a Kaby Lake CPU, suggesting that the chip is already sampling to Intel's partners. This bodes well for its availability.
..."
The article, and your quote, specifically mention low voltage chips, which are not in Macbook Pros. For Kaby Lake chips that would work in an MBP, you'd be waiting until sometime next year.

No one has any idea what Apple is up to, and that's exciting in itself! I can't see them announcing only a new 13". It would ruin 15" sales because people will wait for the newer 15".

It didn't stop them in 2008 announcing the new unibody 15", several months before updating the 17".

I am desperate for a laptop now, I think I will pull the trigger on the first of the following to be available in UK

a) 13inch rMBP sky lake
b) Asus Zenbook 3
c) rMB with 1080p webcam
d) Other unannounced but similar laptop

I don't even need it to be powerful, just decent battery life, small form factor etc. I actually liked the 12inch rMB but couldn't live with the awful choice of webcam, for a multimedia based laptop it's one area I had hoped they wouldn't skimp on...

Too bad the XPS range has left me with little confidence, way too many issues.

I have a strong preference for MacBooks although Windows will suit me more, simply because I want a 16:10 screen.

No matter what's shown/not shown at wwdc next week, I can't wait to come back to this thread to see which people lose their sh*t (and for what reasons).

It's bound to happen.

That's why im looking foward to it. This thread will be the main attraction of the day. Heads will collectively explode in anger (maybe happiness, but doubt it). I laughed hysterically back in March, I need some of that on Monday. Or Apple surprises me and makes me cry out of happiness.

I feel like we are going to see a 13-14" something at WWDC. Whether that's a pro or regular MB, I don't know (I don't think they'll keep the Air branding). The staggered hinge shipments just seem like a strong indication to me.
If it's a pro, I think it will include OLED bar; I don't think they'll put it on a non-pro model (differentiation point - similar to the pencil).
That said, I could be very wrong...

Quiet yes I think everyone is just exhausted at this point, I know I am. I can't handle any more disappointment nor can I follow this thread for another nine months. Atleast if the 13" are released there will be plenty to talk about.

For now I sit, idly polishing my unusable USB-C peripherals and dusting my 6 year old mbp.

I'm with you. I've invested way too much emotion and thought into a computer update, and I realized that I'm being irrational. It'll come out when it comes out and I'll consider a purchase then. Sure, my current MBP with it's non-Retina display and HDD sucks compared to 2016 standards, but I'll just wait patiently now. No freaking out from me.

Did you move from Windows? I'm surprised because IMO keyboard shortcuts are one of the few things Windows has going for it. Besides some of the finder controls, I find Mac shortcuts to be way too clunky. Simply opening files is a great example. Enter vs. Cmd+O...

I'm thinking the EXACT opposite.
Windows Shortcuts are completely arbitrary... because most come from a time when nobody gave a f*ck about logic.

Mac Shortcuts → Command key + logical corresponding letter → C = Copy, P = Print (X because close to C and looks like scissors for Cut, V also close and looks like something being inserted, O = Open, Q = Quit, W = close Window, etc.

Windows NOW started borrowing a few of them... but...

instead of ONLY using the Ctrl key for commands... they are all over the place.
Logic tells me... if I want to Quit something Q... for Quit... plus... I wanna issue a command... makes sense.

What does ALT + F4 tell me?! Why the ALT key... and not Ctrl? Why F4? What does F4 have inherently to do with the act of qutting?
Yes I am aware of the fact that it has been like this for a VERY long time. And it is like it is... because it has ever been. Does it make sense though? Absolutely not.

Which is why I actually started using keyboard shortcuts a LOT more in OS X than I did in Windows.
I sometimes just TRY things... because I think to myself that I wanna perform a certain action... and I just try the most logical command...
You know what... it basically always works.

I would assume that it's the weekend + Euro 2016 that's making this thread quieter. At least something to keep me entertained until Monday :)

There's no weekend in the universe that can stop the madness here! Maybe Euro 2016...or people just get bored to repeat over and over the same things, do the same endless and pointless talking when in 48 hours or so we're going to now the truth

Theory on F4... Perhaps the dev was Chinese and thought 4= death F_our so F4=quit

It is also quiet because no-one has a thing to contribute other than general desires, sooks and forestalled outrage about what subjectivly might or might not make them feel adequate, empowered, or important in the indeterminate future; and the oxygen has run thin given the lack of variables.

Partially true :D
Yes, we're all bored after 641 pages of craziness, but this is the calm before the storm.
The moment the WWDC Live will start, this thread will melt down.
