And.... this justifies all the hate comments in the thread?

It's perfectly acceptable for people to rage at Apple and say silly things because they passed the 365 day mark?
It's a friggin tech company that built its empire up with its most loyal customers who were the Mac base. And now they're over charging them for hardware that's gonna be out done by its competitors by three chip cycles by the time it gets around to releasing bloody skylake rmbps.

If a company is gloriously saying f u to its loyal customers then I think the said loyal customers have every right to be pissed. Especially since apple doesn't make it particularly easy to simply switch to Windows.

Edit:

Tbh I'm personally pissed because the company that I grew up admiring virtually gave up on innovation and is more concerned with 'me too' stuff like the obsession with emojis.

I admire and respect their work with HealthKit and care kit but really I expected a lot more with Siri.

i bet later today (US) or tomorrow we'll get a vague rumor on upcoming new laptops, just like it happened after the march event, not to discourage people who expect something.

even then, as i said, i'm not spending money on a dead system. no substantial news to macOS is enough to tell us that apple computers are not a good investment anymore, they simply have no bright future at this point.

edit, this morning i predicted we would reach page 700, and i am proved right!

Look at the bright side. With macOS sierra out in the wild we might actually start seeing tangible signs and details about the new rMBP. Things like kext files, system profiles, power management profiles and more. There should be an influx of info now. Which will make the wait much less excruciating.

Oh well, disappointment, but expected it this time. For me, watchOS 3 was the most promising news, if it really does kill those loading times (without killing the battery life). Hopefully Apple Pay on the Mac is an indication of TouchID on the new MacBook Pro later this year.

Where are you seeing this? I'm intrigued!

APFS is optimized for Flash/SSD storage, and engineered with encryption as a primary feature. Learn about APFS benefits versus HFS+ and how to make sure your file system code is compatible."

I'm in the same position as most of you guys, was able to get through my first semester at school in the spring with my current 2008 mb, but fear it's not going to hold up for another semester in school once I start diving deeper into programming... But in the mean time I will patiently wait... And atleast I'll have the summer with my first born (expected to arrive in 2 weeks) to keep me busy!

Totally unreasonable of Apple to talk about Software for 2h during a Software Developer Conference. Right?

Come on guys, i want a new rMBP as much as you all do but keep it real.

Enought times there has been hardware introduced on WWDC. You can be a developer using hardware (The OLED strip for example).

They weren't talking software, they were flashing emoji, music and their other apps. There was about 10% software for developers in that keynote.

I'll just get a MacBook Air and sit further away from the screen …

… and get four generations of the family to join you to read a musical score for seven instruments and chorus from a distance of more than a yard.

But... (from the 10.12 release notes):

"APFS volumes in macOS 10.12 are case sensitive, cannot be shared over the network via AFP, do not support Time Machine backups, and cannot be used in conjunction with a Fusion Drive or as a startup volume."

Thanks. Not helping as much as I had hoped though.

Well, they did all their software platforms at WWDC. Maybe they'll do all their hardware platforms at the iPhone event...after all, pretty much every piece of hardware they sell could be updated then. Even ATV could go 4k and rMB could have a 14" model...
I second that. Minor update to iPhone 7, needs some pals to join the party!
