Now I'm just waiting for Microsoft Redstone release to see if a XPS 13 is worth it.
It should happen in a couple of months or so, am I right?

So, if by then no new Apple has showed up, I'll go straight for a Dell. And that's it.
I've desired a new apple for so long just to witness a full year without a serious hw upgrade, it's not worth it IMHO

To everyone who feels bad, just remember, people actually had to pay to be there.

Wow...feeling sorry for you.

Couldn't watch today's keynote live.
And god damn, I'm glad I wasn't in here while it lasted.

This is crazy, Apple's "top of the line", premium laptop houses an ancient CPU and an even older POS GPU.
It's a damn shame.

What's even worse are all the people who will be flooding this thread swearing their newfound allegiance to Dell and their XPS line. Uuuuuugh

Now in hindsight it seems obvious that this keynote would be devoted purely to software.
The code like design of the invitation was a clear giveaway.

Oh whatever, I have '16 12" MacBook that actually does all I need it to do. Guess I'll pass on a "Pro" machine I don't actually need.

It has been fun following this thread for the last 400 pages (holy ****, guys!), but from now I'll only pop back in to piss on a few broken hopes and dreams with the occasional gif ;)

Which reminds me:

"Hey, Apple!"
"Yeah?"
"The WWDC would shure be a great opportunity to finally update the Pro line!"
"Hmm, you're right. Wait and see, you never know what might happen!"

Honestly, Apple desperately tries to sell us all these gimmicks. Siri, even if it's great does not make me want to adapt my App as a free update. HomeKit is a consumer extension good for hardware vendors. All the "machine learning" does not make me do new Apps either. Music is not a developer feature.

Here it is: WHO IS APPLE TARGETING?

certainly not me. I want hardware that lets me create innovative software.
Evertging shown are just OS features that do not need me to do anything.

The maps stuff doesn't help. Siri doesn't help. Copy and paste over icloud is a joke.
"Desktop" sharing instead of icloud drive is a joke.

The messaging animations are meant for end users and kids.
Apple should look at Google and take swift code to the cloud as a service.

Oh. Did I mention that Apple Pay is not available here.

So. What am I missing? They did not offer me anything.
I need a modern OS with modern networking capabilities.
Then I can write fantastic Apps.

Who will ever develop a Pro App

Edit. Sorry post broke. No more energy to complain or finish

Yeah, my 2.75 year old boy dropped water on my rMB. I'm entirely computerless. Beginning to think the 14" Razer Blade is worth $2k...haven't bought a windows based PC in over a decade, though...

I've owned apple computers on and off since the 1980s, but, ugh, at this point I really want to take my $$ to another company that updates their computers.

What will happen ? Are we really waiting until October ? what the heck o_O I want to see atleast a nice leak... I am waiting since 2015 October -.- People talked 2015 October about a Skylake release XD Nice guess.

Has anyone recently bought a Dell XPS 15?

Did you have any quality control issues?

I've read the Dell XPS 15's seem to have a lot of issues, but it's hard to measure because people without issues normally don't say anything on forums.

I would prefer an Air with Retina, but I can't wait any longer. I'm sorry, Apple, but you're losing your Mojo.

The wait from March until now wasn't that bad. The wait from now until September won't be bad.

I'm excited about the redesign. I think we'll start getting more and more rumors between now and then which will be nice.

Also, since it'll be a weaker iPhone event / release, having plenty of time to go over the new MBP and its integration with Sierra will be awesome. That and the new Apple Watch will make for a nice hardware-heavy event.

It's just crazy that I finally decided to look into purchasing a MBP and then the longest wait in history happened.

Keep your chins up. When it happens, it'll be worth it.

I think that the WWDC is no longer about giving a roadmap but more about dictating 'this is what we're pushing'. Cos they kept stressing the need to work with devs but like you said the opportunity for innovation is slim. Essentially devs are part of the new customer advocate team for apple

I've been waiting for a new MacBook pro 15" for almost 1,5 years. I didn't want the facelift upgrade with haswell processor from spring 2015. I wanted a processor upgrade as well. Rumours said skylake MacBook could be launched at beginning of 2016, then it was march event 2016, then it was april, then it was wwdc. Well wwdc was the longest i was willing to wait.

Now ill go for lenovo or dell within matter of a day or two. And ill go android for all my other hardware.

But who are Apple now losing as a customer?

I have been a loyal apple supergeek for years. Convincing all friends And family to choose apple, and been their supportservice as well. Most likely friends And family have bought 110-120 Apple products because of me.

What have i bought:
iPhone 3gs
iPhone 5
iPhone 6s
iPad retina
iPad pro 9,7
Apple TV 2
Apple TV 3
Apple TV 4 + 2 extra remotes, (who makes glass remotes for a remote kids use anyway?)
2 airport extreme
AirPort extreme ac tower
TC 3gb AirPort extreme ac

I also bought adapters, chargers, 3rd party equipment for 800usd+++

But this dosent count for Apple it seems. I can't be the kind of customer they want, as they over And over have been dissapointing me recently.

Guess its true that all good things come to an end..

Bye Apple

APFS volumes in macOS 10.12 are case sensitive, cannot be shared over the network via AFP, do not support Time Machine backups, and cannot be used in conjunction with a Fusion Drive or as a startup volume.
This sounds like a fairly reasonable limitation to impose early on in a filesystem's lifecycle. Limiting the number of supported use cases is a good way to get it out there and gather feedback, before doubling down on a full rollout.

Anyone just going to build a PC instead of waiting? Think I'll just continue working on my 2011 mbp for another year (and maybe completely switch to a different manufacturer) and do more power stuff on a monster PC. (Found out that training neural nets on this petty mbp is not the greatest).

I've bought some for my work and they're excellent. Out of a dozen or so, one has had some issues, but Dell Support took care of them quickly. If you don't mind buying refurbished, they come with full warranty and are often a good deal.

Why so many think they are launching the new MBP in September? It doesn't make sense for Apple to release it with the iPhone 7. More likely it's Late 2016 or maybe July so they get to sell their new Macs before students go 'back-to-school'.

Can someone help Me? i want to get a good quality / price ratio pc laptop around 500$ (I keep my money for the f*** mac) until the mbp is released.
Thanks !
