In light of yesterday's disappointment
I want to believe.jpeg

If Apple follows OS X El Capitan's release schedule for macOS Sierra, then we're sure to see MacBook Pros unveiled at the iPhone event (or now known as the hardware event) and will be avaliable by the end of September. That seems right.

That has made sense for weeks really, given all of the credible leaks indicated it.

Ming Chi Kuo said Q4, it wasn't immediate clear if he meant Apples fiscal Q4 or Calendar Q4. With Mark Gurman all but confirming that there wouldn't be any hardware at WWDC a week beforehand that would put release of new Macbook Pros at October onwards. As it likely it will be a hardware redesign they will want to give it some stage time rather that a press release so the September iPhone event would make sense.

Will probably be unveiled alongside the new iPhones in mid September and ship a few weeks later.

I think having an iPhone update AND a Mac Hardware update isn't typical for Apple. I think we're going to see Mac hardware a month before the iPhone event. The iPhone event is always big enough for just itself. Maybe small iPad updates and updated watch there too?

Yes but as rumours suggest that the iPhone 7 isn't that big of an overhaul, this event may not be that grand. I guess to make up for the shortcomings of the iPhone, Apple will introduce Apple Watch and MacBook Pros alongside it. If we look at the last iPhone event, 6S, in terms of design was no change at all, and I like to think that in order to make up for that dissapointment, they introduced iPad Pro and its accessories alongside it. We could see the same here.

We still have two usual possible hardware-focused events left in the year; September and October.

Seems silly that they're missing the back to school crowd. But, after seeing a student drooling over a 13 in rMBP in the Apple Store, I understand why they might hand out Beats headphones and clear the old stock to the back to school buyers, most of whom don't care what's inside and just want the latest Apple product.

Meanwhile, I will continue to carry my trusty screwdriver set in my computer bag so I can keep my current Mac from falling apart until Apple finally releases an update.

My plan now is to get a MacBook Pro when I move in, and hope that the new one will be released within two weeks of my purchase. Then I can return it without loosing money and still get the newest MBP.

Lol, no one is bitter, I don't mind hanging out.

But go harass some of the folks who said we'd have a MacBook in June, I was not one of them. I said March, was wrong, and bowed out.

Oh wait, you won't, coz ur obsessed. Get some help man.

Lol, sure you're not. And nah, I just checked back with the ones who were stubborn a few months ago if anyone told them what they didn't want to hear - that the MBPs would not be released until the fall. That only includes one person though that argued with many (not just me) about it.

Call it what you want though ... harassment, trolling. I wasn't the one who said "see you in March!" then proceeded to act like nothing. See ya!

Anyone else super pumped about the long awaited even barely mention of new macbook pros! The wait for this WWDC was worth it. I don't think we're ever getting them boys.

Sorry Apple, you'e me let me down far too many times. Just ordered a Razer Blade Stealth !

I'm waiting until the new Intel / AMD chipsets are available at the end of the month, and then give Apple a month or so to assemble into something better

Personally I would like to see these screen options for the MacBook Pro line:
14" and 16"
Apple can keep 12" for their MacBook. Maybe a 2016 Skylake 13" Air would fill in the void (though discontinuing it would make sense).
Oddly, the iPad Pro is at 12.9"

I wonder if Apple is waiting for new GPU chips for the high end to be released - one can wish for a Nvidia Pascal or AMD Polaris to be shoe-horned into a MacBook Pro.

Based on the performance, wattage, cost, and timing, I think AMD has the business with the Polaris 11 mobile Radeon RX 480M

In macOS Sierra there is a list of Polaris DeviceID's already in the system kexts. There is no 67C10 model there. 4 Device ID's for Polaris in the system.

So with all this Polaris talk, I guess only the 15" will have it?

I'll be surprise if Apple put it in the 13" as well :D

I guess I'll just upgrade my rmbp to 32gb of RAM and 1To hard drive.
The thing i'm the most excited about is that feature to delete useless files.
I sense a bit of sarcasm here, but in the Netherlands, Whatsapp has a >95% market share.

edit: meaning instant messaging as a replacement of sms

I live in Hong Kong, most of the people use Whatsapp here. Then you have Line, Kakao Talk, and Wechat. Line in Japan/Korea; Kakao in Korea; WeChat in China.
Europe uses quite a lot Whatsapp too.

I'm starting to seriously consider Dell XPS13 Developer edition with Ubuntu at this point.

Seems to be a Europe thing. In Germany as well so many people use whatsapp that I was basically forced to install it even so I prefer iMessage.
