I wonder if there's actually any revenue in those articles. I'd imagine that anyone looking into such things is fairly tech savvy and likely has an ad-blocker installed.

Nope, I know plenty of college students who need a MacBook Pro, and I can imagine that they heard or watched a video that there might be a new MacBook Pro being released soon > Them googling "MacBook Pro 2016 news" > Hitting these articles > Ad $$$$

Just take my money Apple !! I've saved up more than $3k, more than enough to buy your goddamn adapters and cases

You got me. At least while I'm on my iPhone :p

To all you guys who keep checking/updating daily, do you really think there's something coming before Back to School ends? I highly doubt it.

I still think Apple is trying to clear out at least some of its stock through BtS. And while they're probably selling less (because everybody is waiting for new MBPs), why would they mind? Less headphones to give away for free.

I'm not expecting a release before the Sept event (will likely have a special Oct event to announce all new Macs), but come back to check if there's any new/better leaks of what's to come or the possibility of an announcement of when that special event will be.

I expect an October event, maybe a second September one, though I do feel this is less likely.

Announcements will be made one week in advance.

I keep checking macrumors (and 9to5mac) for rumors (we don't really have too many, and yet we have a surprisingly early leak), but some people here keep checking the actual Apple website. That's what surprised me.

LOL at this garbage article ... got me excited for a second before I realized they had no idea what they're talking about

We take a look at the recent rumors surrounding the MacBook Pro 2016

Published By: Patrick Arruda on June 27, 2016 10:52 am EST

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is expected to unveil the latest generation MacBook Pro later this year. The new flagship laptop from Cupertino-based tech giant is expected to come with updated specs and an all new design. According to reports, the device will come with a 5K built-in display and new artificial reality features for better gaming experiences. The new laptop is also expected to be thinnest laptop that has been manufactured by the company.

Previous reports indicated that the new device will be powered by Intel’s sixth generation Skylake processor and will come preinstalled with the latest Mac OS Sierra. Mac Rumors, which has been a reliable source for Apple product news in the past also stated that the new device will boast a powerful 5K screen with the help of the ThunderBolt display. Earlier this week, there were reports that Apple will discontinuing the ThunderBolt Display, but Mac Rumors stated that the ThunderBolt display will be getting an integrated GPU that will result in better graphics.

The new ThunderBolt Display with a built in graphics card will help Apple bring in customers as the new display will appeal to a wide range of users. The new display will also be able to work with any Mac device because of its built-in graphics support. The new display will feature a 5120 x 2880 screen resolution and will support AR features. The report also stated that the new ThunderBolt Display will feature USB-C ports that will also support ThunderBolt connections.

The new MacBook Pro is expected to be released in 13-inch and 15-inch models and will be released in August. Reports indicate that the new laptop will be similar in design to the 12-inch MacBook which was released last year. The new MacBook Pro is also expected to feature the Touch ID fingerprint recognition system, with the addition of a new OLED bar with capacitive buttons that will be placed on top of the keyboard.

Wow that sh*t is so made up. So we're getting 5k internal displays and 5k TBD, my eyeballs are ready to be amazed.

The way I read it, they thought "thunderbolt" is a brand name for an internal display made by Apple. There's no transition to the display section and no transition back to the MBP to suggest they think they're separate entities.

Edit: never mind, just saw the "works with any Mac" line. Really bad writing nonetheless.

So tired of waiting ...
(and losing time on this thread)

Agreed I gave up and bought a laptop a few weeks ago and I Couldn't be happier. I have lots of Apple products but this wait was killing me since my 13" died a few months ago and I wanted 15 in with at least 4K; however, knowing Apple I doubt the update would have that. Apple always goes cheap on the updates now ever since tim cook took over and I really feel like they stalled on this update on purpose. I wouldn't be surprised if there already made but waiting for the 2015 stock to be cleared first before releasing.

Even the iPhone 7 looks bad, they didn't even give it an oled screen when it's now a standard on new phones. Since I have still have a nice 27in fully loaded iMac Ill still have access OSX whenever I need it, but based on the way Apple is handling their iPhone 7 upgrade this year I highly doubt the MacBook will get much of an upgrade outside of the rumored skylake processor, thunderbolt 3 and a gimiky oled strip.

For anyone else unwilling to wait or tired of waiting or wouldn't mind having a second computer to go with your new MacBook this was a pretty good deal, I got an open boxed on for it for $1200 a few weeks back and love it. There looks to be a few for $1300 which is still decent.

If the new MacBooks pro 15's were out I would have got that but I just couldn't justify buying an outdated 2015 model at a higher premium price than I paid for for something that's spec'd way better.

Just some casual reading. And hype.

That's a really good price. Is he a new user? Either way, I would go for it. If you find that there are some flaws that are inexcusable, Amazon is good with returns.
I requested factory sealed package and I got it for 900 pounds which i consider a steal. I'm still not convinced that I got this deal and that there should be a catch but I don't have much to lose I guess since I can still return it.

I check back here because it says there are unread posts. Then I read those posts. Not every action must be strictly logical, sometimes I'm just bored.

Ok, so once again (don't get angry): when could be the next big Apple event we could give our hopes?
September event, right after the closing of "Back to School" ?
Does anyone remember if there were situations in the past, where Apple introduced new products during the Back to School period?

Last year we had March / June / September events.

We've had March / June events this year so far. I'm not sure they'll do four in a year with two in the fall. But they could. Nobody knows. They have more products and software to talk about than ever.

It's almost July so we're that much closer to the fall. Stay strong.
