Beta 4 pushed. Maybe someone can find OLED stuff.
We better get some juicy leaks this month. I think we are all ravenous at this point for anything that's not GAMENGUIDE, Parent Herald, University Herald, or iTech Post...August 1st. Another month down. Keep fighting the good fight.
Hypothetically if I were to purchase the 2015 MBP 15 inch Retina before this new one comes out, you think it would be possible to resell and grab the new one without losing a bunch of $ in between? Sure there is a decent amount that would be down the toilet but just curious
A thousand likes for thisWe better get some juicy leaks this month. I think we are all ravenous at this point for anything that's not GAMENGUIDE, Parent Herald, University Herald, or iTech Post...
Well, in the past they didn't leave the entire mac line to die. I think september is a great time for launching a new Macbook Pro. School is back, companies make purchases. Launching Sierra with new features combining the functionality from Apple watch, iphone and the new RMBP...
Actually, I came up with a pretty good explanation for this in my head a while ago. Apple replaces broken devices with new ones, or refurbished which they claim is basically new. For tax purposes, they can write off the cost of the replacement machine. If they keep the price high, it won't cannibalize the newer models while still providing a nice deduction at tax time.
Why you guys are bothered by it being listed is beyond my understanding. Let people buy whatever they want, and make sure you get the best value for the price for your own purchases.
Why?if they said January 2017 for new Retina MacBook Pro, I WOULD get the 2015 15".
I have been lurking in this thread for a long time, but I decided I will finally post.
I do not know how likely this is, but lets assume Apple is working on a MacBook Pro. What if this MacBook Pro is going to be revolutionary. I mean, we have seen what, 1 rumor on this laptop? The OLED panel? Maybe this is going to be the biggest MCP updated ever. This could be such an important project, they decided to make it their most secretive one as well. It is so important, they decided to wait almost 500 days to refresh.
I doubt this is true, but it is always nice to dream up cool possibilities.
Pretty unlikely since the rMB is designed to be fanless and the CPUs that go into the rMBP and even the MBA are actively cooled, by fans.Thinking out loud but I wonder if Apple is determined to stuff the power of the MBP into the size of the new MacBook and delaying the release of the new MBP models because of it.
I know that sounds crazy but the longer they don't announce anything, the more plausible it is IMO.
I agree that it's unlikely but that won't stop Apple from trying to do this.Pretty unlikely since the rMB is designed to be fanless and the CPUs that go into the rMBP and even the MBA are actively cooled, by fans.
Yup. Wish one of them would confirm MBP at the September event.C'mon Ming, Grrrman, Serban, etc. ...View attachment 643029

Wow, I don't think I've ever seen the Tim Cook era of Apple summarized so perfectly.
However, regardless of what many pessimists I've seen may say/think on this site, he is not incompetent. The man has degrees in business and engineering. He spent something like a decade at IBM as well.
This is a direction he is choosing to the company in. He knows exactly what he's doing. That's the worst part for me.
I can't believe now days, they won't just announce the release dates, because if they said January 2017 for new Retina MacBook Pro, I WOULD get the 2015 15". So in other words it would HELP SALES... there is a point to keeping things secret, but at a certain time frame you start killing yourself...
Hope they don't confirm that it isn't the September event lol.Yup. Wish one of them would confirm MBP at the September event.
Yep, Apple was dominating from 2012~2015. Apple products were expensive, but they were worth every penny from software to build quality .. To track pad etc. HOWEVER ..Now Apple is just expensive and has nothing unique to offer, in fact it LACKS a lot of features compared to the market.
Macbook Pro 15? No thanks, i'll take the Dell XPS 15/Razer Blade 14.
Macbook Pro 13? I'll take the Razer Blade Stealth
iPad Pro? Surface Pro 4 for sure.
iPhone 6s+? Maybe instead of paying Apples $1549 for 128gb iPhone, I can pay $500~800 for a OnePlusThree / HTC 10 / S7 Edge.
iCloud? Try out Google Drive, One Drive, DropBox, universal applications like Chrome. Not limited to one OS.
I can go on for about every other product in their line up.. You get the point - There is good competition out there now.
They all offer MORE features and still cost LESS. Software on MacOS is no longer unique, it is just a taste of personal preference between Windows 10 these days.
What does Apple sell now? a TKL non backlit keyboard for $179 AUD, a $129 AUD silicon case with a battery strapped to it. Want to upgrade the ram in your iMac? Sure that will be just $265 for our 30 seconds of labour work to swap out that 8gb of ram to 16. Want to buy our non-retina MBP last updated in 2012 for just $1549 AUD? It features 4gb of ram and a 500gb HDD with a 720p display.
Apple make great products, but for the price they are asking for now is RIDICULOUS. I remember joining this thread MONTHS ago, back then I had a full set of Apple gear, now I don't own a single product. I'm sick of paying so much for such limited hardware and a dull OS.
If you are going to charge me $3799 AUD for a "pro" 15" machine I'd expect it to have something not laughable like an M370x or a 4th gen CPU. Jheesh, I think I might just save the money and go with a 6gb 970M on the Razer Blade and a current skylake CPU with usb-C bla bla bla you get the point.
It's funny to come back to this thread and read empty promises and fake hope of people assuming things like an external GPU support like Razer currently has for the Blade line up or MSI/Alienware for about 2 years now. The most you guys will get is a 10% + increase in price, a new slimmer dumbed down laptop line up and a $49.99 adapter for your new iPhone 7 to listen to music while charging at the same time.
