At the end of the iPhone event, tim cook will say One more thing.
An image of a sky with a lake will appear with an October date, like 03.10(or 10.03 for you Americans). Crowd will go wild and he doesn't say a thing other than see you next time!
That would be awesome lol

Well do you think they would admit it: "sorry folks this is all we've come up with iPhone but hey here's a myriad of new Macs!" :)

More likely they are just going to babble how cool it is to be the pioneer of inventing a headphone jack-less smartphone, or to have 3 GB of ram with the top tier iPhone model. They will just allocate more time to the stuff they have this year. And one more thing: a dual-lense camera with iPhone Pro! I hope I'm wrong and 'one more thing' is the new MBP.

They wouldn't admit or apologize for anything. They'd just do it. And no one would mind one bit. In fact, we'd probably think it was the best keynote ever in the post-Jobs ever.

And then at the October event, they launch their new Apple Watch blue and white band collection and a Mac Pro update with broadwell!

Considering Broadwell-E is the current Xeon processor available for the Mac Pro, that's not unlikely. Once again, just as with the Skylake-H chipsets appropriate for MBP that are just *now* coming out, Skylake-E Xeons appropriate for Mac Pro are not out 'til Q2 2017. Similarly, the Broadwell-E came out long after the Broadwell-H came out for the last MBP etc.

THIS in combination with new lines of AMD GPUs that were just announced or released (not sure on the details here off hand), is likely the main reason we're waiting for both updates. If they released a minor increment just prior to next generation chips coming out, you all would STILL be whining about how out of date the brand new MBP/MP are. What a bunch of babies around here.

Curious, what competitors of Apple HAVEN'T release competing products with newer Intel chips and chipsets.

Can you name any?

How about this — go get me a list of all currently shipping laptops with Skylake-H/iGPU chipsets, along with how long they've been shipping. I'll wait.

I accept your surrender. No Apple competitors exist that haven't released computers with newer Intel chips and chipsets,

Just buy stuff on looks and highest alone! Then you don't have to worry about what inside it!

Isnt that apples Moto LOL.

They no longer care about the top specs if they did the iphone 7 would be oled, the macbook pro with skylake would have been out, the mac pro would have been refreshed, the mac mini would have been refreshed. Now they are selling year and a half old computers to people for full price. If anyone walked into best buy and was shown a year and a half old PC you would immediately leave the store or ask them if its 50-75% off.

The cheapest Chinese manufacturers manage to stay current with Intel Chips. Its freaking bizarre. I can understand slow chassis refreshes, even things like being a bit late to market, but come on, 2 generations behind on the 15 inch...

I honestly belive apple is just going to skip Skylake all together in order to be at the forefront of the Kaby Lake revolution, Hence the delay. As someone who's been following this thread for 6 months in desperate need of a new computer. But can't justify the extreme cost of a current apple machine when compared to cheaper better spec'd competitors. I really hope we don't have to wait much longer.

How have you been following this thread for 6 months and haven't seen the numerous explanations on why that's not happening?

I've decided that I should get the Surface Pro 4 to tide me over. Even if the MacBook Pros do come out late 2016, they're going to be priced too high for me to afford. And who knows, maybe Apple might not release MBP till mid-late 2017, we can't really say for sure at this point. We're only guessing based on that Ming Kuo's estimates.

And if I do purchase a SP4, I should be able to tide over till 2018, about time the new models will have matured. Also, USB C will become more mainstream by then.

But I'll still be waiting anxiously for these new models.
