New option as powerful as this

Why not Apple !!

Just call it MacBook Pro Plus ..
it would be need to be thicker than the current model. Thats why not.
on a more serious note, it is not within the segment that apple is selling.
And with the quality that is expected of apple the R&D price would be way to much compared to sales + the price of that mac will set you back a lot more then what others will be able to do it for

I think I'm going to react like this, both if we won't see invites for the september event, or the long awaited MBP at the event.

The worst thing would be being devoured by an alien cockroach and have my skin reused as a WRONG-suit, though...

Didn't Gurman already say that they won't be announced at the iPhone event?
I trust this guy ever since he said no hardware at WWDC while everyone else was so damn sure they have to announce anything.

I think the WWDC call was a pretty safe bet. We were all just really hopeful that we'd get a surprise since hardware has been showcased there before.

Bloomberg/Gurman might not always be the most accurate.

For what it's worth, I had a MBP dream last night. I think it was announced via press release, but it did come with a design video. Screen sizes were increased slightly.

Invites this week or I'm opening a fruit stand in Nicaragua.

Didn't Skylake come out AGES ago? Why are you guys still waiting for it?

*pause*

HAHAHAHA I'm sorry, I have a sick sense of humor. Don't worry, I feel your pain. I've been lurking about since ~ page 200 and reading diligently since ~500. I never like posting stuff online, but as they say, YOLO!

It's been fun watching the increasing cynicism and bitterness of people's avatars and posts, but now it's even beginning to disturb my serenity. I'm starting to REALLY need a new computer right about now. Seriously Apple, we need Skylake, and we need it last year.

...more like Skylate, amirite?

Actually what's more inevitable is Skynever in MacBook Pros.
The Surface 4 Pro I have since I sold my MBP in WWDC16 times for the anticipation for these laptops is starting to urk me - still poor battery life / management, crummy non-touch friendly and non-'retina' ready apps... please Apple. Just give me a reason to take my money!

To be fair that Daring Fireball post is just really Gruber picking holes in things. I don't think the Bloomberg piece particularly implied that cellular connectivity for Watch 2 had been pulled at the last minute. Obviously Gruber, enormous shill that he is, has taken exception to Bloomberg highlighting the fact that Watch 2 won't have cellular.

While we're on the subject of Gruber, he claimed on the Talk Show a few weeks ago that he was going to ask Craig Federighi and Phil Schiller about the state of the Mac line up when he interviewed them at WWDC but he forgot :D:rolleyes:

I don't know about you guys but the issue for me is at as much waiting as to not knowing when the damn thing will be launched. I decided to sell my 2011 MBP 1 year ago in September anticipation of buying the new 2015/2016 model in October or something alike. The worst is that we're waiting like idiots without even knowing when that thing might be released (refer to various past events where everyone hopes' went up (and then dramatically down).

If Apple tomorrow tells it will be released in December 2016 or it will be released in 6 months, then fine. It's a long wait but at least it would be my choice to pick the way i wanna go (buy old model, buy something else or wait).

Anyway, sorry for the rant ... still hoping we'll see something in 2016 but doubting it more everyday :/

Your post clearly indicates you can't hold it any longer. You should just buy the current MacBooks, this wait is gonna be longer and justified only if someone is not in a rush to buy a computer.

Hopefully most right-minded people can see through this iPad "Super Computer" bull****. But someone's going to fall for it. Can all the folks here buying laptops for school please stay in touch, and let us know how the inevitable few get on trying to use a screen with no keyboard to achieve the simplest of tasks? I think laughing at their struggle is going to warm a lot of hearts made cold by this long, long wait.

Apparently someone told Gruber last year that they don't want to hold a separate October event. This may have changed due to any kind of delays, delivery problems, production problems etcetera, etcetera.

oh god I don't want to wait until next year. I was 100% expecting it to come out in October. Its not going to happen in September ;_;

Absolutely nothing has suggested there will be a 2017 release. The only rumors we have point to the end of 2016.

This is becoming a little annoying with Apple's so called staggered release and delay in releasing the new MacBook's my gut feeling says there will be something this year 2016 but with not many rumours pointing to 2016 it could be well in 2017 aswell who knows it is Apple !

I know this has been said before, but something is up with these quad-core Skylake chips. The chips appropriate for the 15-inch rMBP are the 6770HQ, 6870HQ, and 6970HQ. I have searched Windows manufacturers and found none using these chips, including those which have recently updated their lines to include the NVIDIA 10-series GPUs. The only appearance of any of these chips is in the Skull Canyon NUC from Intel. For all the (rightful) moaning about Apple's delay in updating the MacBook line, is it really their fault? It seems like Intel is having issues that we don't know about or else these chips that were supposedly released in Q1 2016 would be more widespread.
