Apple Music's Frank Ocean graphic looks like a guy standing in the shower holding an exotic fruit. Can't unsee.

CANNOT. UNSEE. You hurt me :(

As hard as I try to decipher anything Mac related in the invite, all I can see is that iPhone 7 won't be able to take sharp photos.

If you have a 4 year old computer with a 113 cycle count, your battery should have problems. At 4 years daily use, a healthy count is ~1200.

Edit: Just checked my healthy cMBP 2012, 1350 cycle counts @ 89% original capacity.

My cycle count is 366, and mine is a 2012 rMBP.

It is worth mentioning that the chips appropriate for the 13" can be found in other manufacturers' laptops. The VAIO Z alone has the option of either the i5-6267u or i7-6567u. So complaining about the lack of update to that size is entirely justified unless Apple has now decided that they only want to update both sizes simultaneously, which would be a new development.
That's assuming that the chip is the ONLY thing Apple is waiting on. I'm thinking it's more than that.

Is there a place where I can bet on the fact that no MBP's will be announced. So when I'm disappointed about not having the new MBP's I still earn some money. If there is an announcement, I will gladly take the losses because new MBPs!

Bill Graham Civic auditorium is a big venue that seats 7000. Previous Apple events here:
  • WWDC 16
  • September 2015 "Hey Siri" Event
Big venue = a lot to cover. Last year's keynote clocked in at nearly 2.5 hours (including One Republic's set).

With iPhone as the only confirmed product, everything else is up in the air. Granted, I think they'll spend a huge chunk of time on the iPhone and its integration with iOS 10. Gruber has a great piece on the Apple Watch 2, highlighting the fact that Apple needs to get it out before the holiday shopping season. Apple Watch is like the new iPod when it comes to gifts. So, I think we'll see it next week.

I don't think that's enough to warrant Bill Graham. If they announce the release date for Sierra, wouldn't it be great to showcase it on some new hardware?

The media and tech community has taken note on Apple's lack of attention of the Mac line. Hopefully some pressure is on to release something. Probably not because it's Apple, but one can hope.

hopefully Apple doesn't talk about the macs for like 5 min by just updating the current design to sky lake and telling us to go fk ourselves.

Good catch. Apple also didn't have an October Event last year, which is why they tried to fit so much in to the "Hey Siri" Event. If this is this case, that means Apple may be trying to avoid an October event again, and thus any new Mac hardware will have to be at the upcoming September 7th event.

This actually revitalizes some hope.

Also, Dydegu, your Profile Pic is pure win. :p

I highly doubt this will be the event for annoucing the new pro books because Apple will spend a lot of time on the Iphone, Apple Watch maybe even Ipad Pro. At best I can see a teaser but wouldn't get my hopes up.

This event will likely be iPhone 7, Apple Watch 2 and showing off WatchOS 3 and iOS 10. When they cover the software they'll announce that Sierra and iOS 10 will be available on the same day and that'll be it. No way they'd have three new products in this announcement.

Thanks for the reality check and a kick in the throat!

But if the laptops are such "footnotes" now compared to the phones and tablets, maybe they will announce it. I mean, it's an afterthought, a dinosaur product that no one likes anymore, right? Surely they can devote 5 minutes to it. (Sometimes that's the impression I get from the tech world. And based on the amount of time they devoted to Sierra vs. iOS 10 at WWDC, I may not be completely off).

I'm not hoping for new Macs this september. Last two events I hoped for a Mac refresh got me nowhere lol.
I'll just sit here and watch you guys decipher the invite for clues of the new MBP.

Not really. The last September had the new Apple TV, iPad Pro, and iPhone 6S at the cost of no October event. I suspect Apple is doing the same this year. Apple Watch 2, rMBP, and iPhone 7 is certainly plausible and I'd say likely. There also hasn't even been any decisive Apple Watch 2 rumors anyway. At least the rMBP has a leaked chassis.

why should they show iOS, WatchOS 3 again? they have done this already in June. September event is only for iPhone and Watch. No so much to show for 1.5-2 hours show.

First I waited in March for new Macbooks, then in June, September.... And now I say "F*ck you Apple".
