Probably not, but this is Macrumors. Other manufacturers use Skylake, all Skylake parts are the same, so Apple is now a watch band company.
It is worth mentioning that the chips appropriate for the 13" can be found in other manufacturers' laptops. The VAIO Z alone has the option of either the i5-6267u or i7-6567u. So complaining about the lack of update to that size is entirely justified unless Apple has now decided that they only want to update both sizes simultaneously, which would be a new development.

I thought Vaio was permanently shut down !

Apple Music's Frank Ocean graphic looks like a guy standing in the shower holding an exotic fruit. Can't unsee.

"See you on the 7th."

Emphasis on 'see' and '7.' iPhone 7 with improved camera. That's the focus of the event.

But every event has to have more than one thing. That's been a constant in every event so far. There are only two likely candidates: Apple Watch 2, and MacBook Pro.

I've been of the opinion there weren't enough devices for two events, but this invite makes me lean more towards a second fall event this year. But would that be better? I mean, do we want to hear about the MBP in September but it plays second fiddle to the iPhone 6.3 (I still won't call it 7) and release in 6 weeks? Or do we want it to be the main event in October and release very shortly after in two weeks?

Maybe I'm naiive, but I think we're getting a new MPB on September 7. Maybe it isn't given much, if any, stage time, but I think Apple will at least unveil it on September 7. I don't see another "Back to the Mac" event. No one does computer on-stage unveilings anymore, do they?

Makes sense, this allows the fall event to be Mac (primary) + iPad (secondary). I think all the previewed OS updates will come out simultaneously though, giving Apple enough time to "beta test" Sierra to the general public prior to putting out a .1 update with stability + anything need to enable OLED rMBP's.

Microsoft just recently, and it was pretty incredible. In case you missed it, they played a video of the Surfacebook, cut it just before it breaks up into tablet mode, hyped everyone for the new Microsoft laptop, then replayed the same video and blew everyone away. Too bad the actual product sucked.

They could have a separate event for that if the iPad Pro were also unveiled; since that's their new idea of a "computer" anyway.

Although it's a bit hard to believe this September event is only going to be the new iPhone.

Indeed. And I have 113 cycle count on the battery.
If you have a 4 year old computer with a 113 cycle count, your battery should have problems. At 4 years daily use, a healthy count is ~1200.

Edit: Just checked my healthy cMBP 2012, 1350 cycle counts @ 89% original capacity.
