Do we want to get 900 pages or do we want to get new MBPs? Sometimes I get the impression that most of us just want to keep this thread going

I desperately want a new MacBook Pro, as my actual 13" is dying slowly (fans always at 6200 rpm... seems like it wants to take off), but I honestly have to say that I would feel lost without this thread to follow...

900 pages. Congrats everyone. We are now ready for the September 2016 meltdown.

I'm already cooling down my whiskey for the occasion.

Meltdown as in people who have been reading this thread know nothing is coming but people who haven't have a meltdown....and then the real wait for October begins!!

Oh no believe me, we have been warned several times to not expect any MBPs on the last few events. What happens is that everyone comes to terms with that fact like 2 days before and then the day of the event they somehow "suddenly" forget and go into meltdown. Even though they had come to terms with it. It's pretty interesting to watch actually, but weird. o_O"

I noticed the poster outside the venue:

has a slightly different bokeh-pattern (also without the 'odd' one). Than on their Twitter:

1500x500

Does it mean anything? maybe? probably not...

the color dots are simply the new revolutionary color options for the apple watch bands

I'd be disappointed if there were no gold options for the new MBP. I don't think any of the latest rumors mention gold.

"So, which processor?

Apple is bleeding Mac users, mostly from the content producing side from lack of updates because of the infrequent updates. The loss and overall market perception of the Mac lines for professionals has gotten so bad, that HP's line of workstations was promoted with a network access function to allow macOS users left in the dust to do "heavy lifting" remotely.

It's well past time for Apple to update. Cook and company can't wait for Kaby Lake if it wants to retain the "pro" user cadre, but it may already be too late."

I am thinking CanonLake Late 2018. Some posts have talked about Kaby or a delayed 15" which would make sense if they wanted to put the Quad Kaby in, and Dual Kaby in the 13". I have heard some reports that Kaby is simply the Tock after SkyLake in the Tick 1st Tock (Sky) 2nd Tock (Kaby), with the next Gen Tick (Canon), with the chip being so similar in design that it could be possible to just put it in instead of Skylake, (which is a little strange). But I heard no Quad Kaby is out so...

At this point I think we'll get Skylake, with a 2nd Tock (Kaby) skip-age. Then Canon for Late 2018. If the "dropping in" is easy, you never know they might due a processor bump in a year to Kaby, etc

Who knows tho, Wednesday is going to be FREAKIN' AWESOME! :D (To see the future, my next two years of life, is this sad?) haha (maybe 4 years even)

Intel abandoned the tick tock strategy, so that may not be entirely accurate. They have run into too many problems with that pace of development.

900 pages. Congrats everyone. We are now ready for the September 2016 meltdown.

I was confident there would be Macs before, but it looks like no MacBooks according to every online source. I think the entire Mac section of this forum is going to meltdown on Wednesday.

Anyone think that Apple will release their own official external GPU to go along with the new MacBooks? I think it it would be a great accessory for Macbook Pro users who want portability and still want access to power. Not to mention, I'm sure Apple could come up with a nice casing for the external GPU that's sleek and small so it's easy to bring with you.

Personally, I think the possibility of something like this is probably low but it would be very nice to see, especially for those of us that plan on getting the 13" version. At the very least, Apple should make sure the new MacBooks are compatible with 3rd party external GPUs.

so i was wondering, how are the Razer trackpads? Either the 12 inch or 14 inch models?

I've been on OSX for nearly 10 years now, but use windows every now and then. I love OSX, but I can live on Windows.

I wouldn't mind having a nice high specced, good looking machine like the Razer, but i don't use a mouse, ever. Always trackpad, even in the rare games I play. Having a real GPU if/when it's needed is cool too

Anyone know if Razer has good customer service and how their trackpads compare to Apple?

I thought we would have a tiny hole for next week, if Dell announced kaby lake XPS models at ifa, but they didn't , so maybe the rumors are true and the lab lake CPUs available are not powerful enough :(

Yet on the other hand you can set any audio file as your ring and text tones and its no hack job...

Which sadly... NOBODY EVER does.
All I used to hear, when it was the default with... Idk, the Samsung Galaxy S3-5 or something, the stupid whistle sound for a text. All the time. On the sub. In the city. In a shop. diiii di di di diiiiiiii. The *bird* or whatever it was supposed to be would whistle. And then... even better... these people hold the phone in their hands... and don't even mute it then... or have the sounds set so that on an unlocked phone it doesn' go
'diiii di di di diiiiiiii' every 2 secs... because they have an entire conversation.

I wouldnt trade this thread for anything. Maybe world peace. Certainly not something as unimportant as new Macbooks.

Wait! :D

When people complain about the Macbook's short key travel, then this happens:

Making even the most seasoned touch-typers hunt and peckers.

It just atonishes me what inconveniences people are willing to tolerate in order to have their phone or computer thinner. Then again, maybe this thing will flop. I certainly hope so.

The more I take a look at the MacRumorsBuyersGuide, the less I understand what Apple is working on...
I mean, it's one of the richest companies in the world, with billions of dollars available in research and development.
How is even possible to have almost the entire line-up of products outdated?! o_O
I'm sincerely curious, more than angry.
Does someone have any idea?

Why do you hope something that is different to flop. This is the exact stuff that should be pushing innovation. Unless you are just happy with the same year after year?
