If you have a Microsoft store near you the XPS line should be available to try and buy there in person.I'm watching right now XPS 15 reviews on youtube... the only thing that's holding me back is buying exclusively online.
At this point the only thing that could make me happy is :
A jet black MBP with early Kaby Lake chips, a GTX 970, a 1TB SSD, a 4k bezeless Oled screen, an Oled touch bar with touch ID, 4 magsafe lightning ports, a black stainless steel apple logo, a lifetime warranty, 10TB of Icloud storage, airpods, an unlimited supply of airpods since I will always lose them, Steve Jobs pair of NB990 he wore when presenting the first iPhone keynote, an invitation to the Infinite Loop to have a private Dr.Dre concert while test driving the Apple car before kicking Tim Cook in the b*lls on live television.

Can someone remind me if there's any history of a separate October event?
Hurry the **** up Apple.

Don't like it but it feels that Cook & co is almost ready to just focus 100% on iOS, which would suck as I always had a soft spot to the UI of OS X.
Can you elaborate on how the XPS 15 "pales in comparison" to current gen MBP15?You'll regret it.
The XPS 15 pales in comparison to even the current MacBook Pros. And don't forget preloaded with Windows 10, a truly terrible OS that even Microsoft fan boys detest.
October we'll definitely see the new Macs. Anyone who thought they were going to be announced today was merely setting themselves up for disappointment.
They could, in principle, develop a version of macOS for ARM (like how they transitioned from PowerPC to x86/x64) while keeping the UI intact. Whether they'll gain much by doing so is unclear though. Whatever the problems will be, it will definitely be better than iOS, one thing I can assert for sure.
unfortunately we don't have any microsoft store in Italy![]()

Not saying or predicting that Apple's going to do it; just hypothesizing that in principle it could be done. There have been "rumors" saying so previously, but it seems unlikely at the current state of performance ARM processors can offer, not to mention the big hassle large software companies would have to go through to port their big suites to the new OS which won't happen quickly. When they transitioned to Intel processors, didn't they announce that they were going to make the change something like 6 months in advance? Wouldn't they have had to make an announcement at the last WWDC?
Just reading your post made me again consider the huge amount of ill-will and dissatisfaction Apple has sowed with the neglect of their mac pro line ... and now their macbook pro line. No updates - same high prices.
To make this many of their loyal customers this wound-up and upset - for this long - has got to be one of the most 'retarded' marketing moves I've seen a company like Apple (so supposedly smart) make in a long long time.
One nice update wont erase the distrust. We know now to expect: an update, then the shaft for 2-3 or more years. How Apple thinks this makes good buisiness sense is beyond me.
