Here's another silly Apple video because we all could benefit from a good laugh:
When Microsoft does Apple-esque ads better than Apple does...
Just replace "Aluminum" with "Alcantara"
-Jony Ive, sitting somewhere in CA, jizzes internally-
I think Apple put the warning out there as a, "under promise, over deliver" kind of statement. I doubt it's going to be that bad, unless you're a picky person.
But there will be a ton of posts when invites come out, so, release date confirmed for even soonerThis thread was started on Oct 26, 2013, that's 1051 days to reach 961 pages, 0.91436726926 pages a day, or 1.09365244537 days per page so to hit 1000 pages we need 39 more pages which should take 42.65 days, 43 days from now is Monday, October 24, 2016 I think it's safe to say the release date is confirmed.

what? when did gurman say the macbook air will be updated?
I'd be surprised if there were no dgpu option in the "pro" line.
Honestly, no one cares. I mean that in the most hyperbolic sense, of course, but really, it's a small fraction of Apple's sales and the hype around its products. The general public don't really get excited for Macs and subsequently no one is willing to risk their job for such a minimal payoff, if there's even a payoff at that stage. Remember, there's an incentive to leak iPhone rumors to case manufacturers and others in related industries; that's not counting the incentive from media and whatnot.I wonder why there are still no leaks or info of any kind. We are supposed to be 1 months before the invites.

Plot twist, they're gonna manufacture it in Texas so the obstacles for leaks are higher. I really hope to wake up one day (in the next weeks), to check tech news and see, that Apple just released them via press announcement.I wonder why there are still no leaks or info of any kind. We are supposed to be 1 months before the invites.
Unfortunately it is far from linear. The first year hardly anything happened, and also the second year not much happened. I.e. the last year we created ~900 pages. So we are more like 2.5-3 pages per day:

Off-topic: I use a simple Mathematica script that boils down to:I'm wondering how you get this chart? is there an option somewhere on the page that i haven't seen or are you using some kind of script to count and plot the curve?
Off-topic: I use a simple Mathematica script that boils down to:
ClearAll[GiveMeLink,GiveDate]
GiveMeLink[n_Integer]:="https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/waiting-for-skylake-mbp-thread.1661246/page-"<>ToString[n]
GiveDate[n_Integer]:=Module[{data},
j=n;
data=Import[GiveMeLink[n],"XMLObject"];
data=FirstCase[data,({XMLElement["i",{"class"->"fa fa-clock-o"},{}]," ",XMLElement["span",{"class"->"DateTime","title"->title_},{_}]}|{XMLElement["i",{"class"->"fa fa-clock-o"},{}]," ",XMLElement["abbr",{"class"->"DateTime","data-time"->_,"data-diff"->_,"data-datestring"->_,"data-timestring"->_},{title_}]}):>title,Missing[],\[Infinity]];
{n,data}

This will generate the url for the nth-page, download it as XML, find the first post, look for the date of post string, and then convert those to something we can plot. You have to execute GiveData for integers going from 1 to 961, then plot it using DateListPlot.
with a few more lines it is parallelised and partial results stored et cetera...
At the current rate we will hit a 1000 pages around October 1st, if more rumours show up we will hit it before October.
How ironic is that ? On the same exact date (9/11), this was asked year ago ... Still nothing mate, sorry. Might even be 2017 at this point.
