I think it's too bad that it really looks like a gaming laptop. If the razer blade looked more professional (or maybe another professional version) I would consider it.

Trackpads are still incomparable. I tried them out at the Microsoft store recently. It's your primary input device apart from the keyboard; think hard about sacrificing that experience.

Indeed... I'm yet to find one which is even remotely close to the Macbook Pro. This is a show stopper for me

I disagree. One wrong decision, or one new invention can spell the end of a company. Big titan companies fall and it doesn't even take a blink for that to happen. Where's Nokia, RIM? The only reason MS and Apple have survived for so long is due to the fact that they were the only 2 major commercial providers of a user friendly OS. The day someone comes out with a better OS, better phone, or heck even a new technology...be prepared to see the end of these companies.

Yeah but that's why they don't release anything, and just sit back and take pot shots at what they deem, the most optimal time. But, I think it would take a MAJOR SHIFT, for Amazon, Google, or Apple to fail at this point. They are just the start of this, Microsoft could have been in this group and they kinda are, but damn they are throwing billions around like crazy, look at the $60 billion linkedin.com purchase, whoa! They didn't even blink an eye or even sweat it...this combined with crazy hardware stock, I guess could borderline bankrupt them... :D

personally I've decided to wait till Christmas and if by then there is no new MBP I'll go Dell xps. Put Windows 7 on it and be happy for the foreseeable future.

Razer Blade yeah no thanks to Synapse.

I'd argue that those companies (Nokia/RIM) have failed miserably because they stopped innovating and thought their name was enough to sell their products. So while they sat on their laurels, Apple/Google stepped up and handed them a beat down. Someone could be developing/innovating something radical and upend the entire industry again (we won't know till years after the intro).

Multitouch was what up-ended the last dynasty of 'smartphones'. Now it's second nature to assume there's a multi-touch interface on any smartphone. Who knows what the next innovation is going to be that upends this dynasty (Apple/Google).

Well, I agree that it looks like the rMB is their current "flagship product" (languishing behind actual "flagship products" being iPhone, iPad Pro, Apple Watch, iHump, Watch Bands and iDongles)

It's sad, but it sure does seem that watch bands are one of their 'flagship products' this year.
