So technically, this thread actually needs to be renamed to "Waiting for Kaby Lake", or at least merged with the current "Waiting for Kaby Lake" thread?

Trackpads are still incomparable. I tried them out at the Microsoft store recently. It's your primary input device apart from the keyboard; think hard about sacrificing that experience.

Before owning my first MBP (6 months ago) I was certain I'd need to plug a mouse into it. But that trackpad is so good I've never even reached for a mouse. And I'm probably only using 20% of its features.

Same here, ironically, you can't use a mouse with mac due to differences in screen refreshing rate and some other architecture in hardware that I don't understand. As someone who was used to using mice it took some time getting used to. There is, however a fix called "smoothmouse" that emulates windows mice in macs.

NOPE, just nope!!
We are NOT waiting for the Kaby lake, and if you by now do not know why. I will suggest that you go back and re-read the last 200 to 300 hundred pages, even 10 will do.

Also, don't wake the alcohol induced rage of @WRONG

Well technically we are, aren't we? In terms of the 13 Rmbp? Makes more sense to just wait for kaby lake as its out in a couple of months?

There is defintly a GT4 Unit with the Kaby Lake CPU generation!!!

Now everyone will get nuts.

There are a few things which seem bogus to me: They claim KabyLake supports Thunderbolt via AlpineRidge whereas I thought it's native?

Also:
KabyLake H-Processor is connected to a discrete SkyLake PCH
What does this mean?

EDIT: Didn't look at the publishing date, sorry...

I recently noticed that I've joined this amazing thread October 2015 (actually following it by June 2015), and my Mac has become 7 years old 5 days ago.
Feel like I must do something to celebrate it.

Yeah, don't wake it pls

Well done mate! I think you deserve a whisky

Really? I never knew that. For some reason it make me feel all panicky and want to plug a mouse in.

Could the reason behind the lack of leak due to Apple bringing the manufacturing of MBP back to the US, similar to what they did with the Mac Pro?

Imagine a world where you wake up and Apple has just released new Macs.

You know, I actually did the opposite. Two nights ago I had a dream that Apple released the whole line of Macs with a complete refresh. EVERY Mac had the newest hardware, a new look, new colors/materials, AND was faster/lighter/had better battery life. When I logged onto this thread everyone was FREAKING out. I think I remember @WRONG and @Dydegu being especially excited. It was magical.

Then I woke up.

How is the seller Electronics Valley on eBay? They have a sale for the base model 13" RMBP for $1029.99. Her upper limit is $1,000 so I'd have to push her. My girlfriend needs a new computer right now and only does email and Microsoft Office, however I can't in good conscience suggest the MacBook Air. Will she still be good with the RMBP, even though it will soon be replaced with a nice shiny new one? Or would the 13" MacBook Air for $850 be a better deal?

There's also the potential for the Air to be discontinued, so would she rather have a previous generation of a (then) current laptop or one that's discontinued?

If she only uses it for Office and email, the Air is a "better deal" because she doesn't need any more, but for $180 more, get the rMBP!

My thoughts exactly, however buying off eBay just feels potentially sketchy, so I'm hoping someone bought from electronics valley before.

Care to explain ? I'm planning to buy the Blade Stealth, so I'm curious.
basically synapse requires to make a Razer account in order to change the settings of let's say the trackpad instead of just downloading it without an account.

Also I don't think it looks premium but boy it's a good machine I'd recommend watching Linus tech tips video.

don't get me wrong I've had high hopes for the MBP and all I wanted was the current one with better display, specs no oled bar crap, no thinner and lighter rather a bigger battery and all that stuff.

I just don't want to make comprises when it comes to my college laptop but i fear Apple's obsession with thinner, lighter don't be good for the MBP. That's why I've looked for alternatives and I think I've found a good one but I for sure wait for some customer service reports because that's equally important for me.

Did anyone else get a page saying that 'the board is unavailable because it is being updated' or something like that? I guess MacRumors is preparing for 1000 pages as well :3

Uh, where'd you hear that? You can most certainly use ANY mouse with any Mac.

That's assuming their going 15W. My bets still on the 28W. Either way, this is a SKYLAKE thread. We'll just languish here for eternity if they're not released. Apple fans are a stubborn bunch after all.

Yes, just not this year. The skylake H procs aren't even available in ANY laptops yet.

Ten to go ... let's go people ... all-nighter until 1000

I'm in! This is more excitement then anything Apple is providing, and I ordered both the iPhone 7 and watch 2. Must be what it feels like just before a divorce. There's no fire anymore!
