Snow Leopardlake is going to be amazing, mark my words. It will become a golden standard for many years.Tigerlake. 2019
It's entirely possible that Apple will hold of going to IGZO and just give the terraced battery in this year update cause Late 2016 MBP is already a big update, so if they update it with IGZO and terraced in 2017, what other update will they say in 2018?So this year along side KL we will get igzo panels also...
I wonder if the 15" will be updated with what cpu and what dgpu? They will keep the same dgpu 2 generation?
My guess is in 2017 will be more on iMac and MacPro, then MBP.

Okay, I'm done laughing.
The Surface PRo machines are a tablet that can work as a laptop. They use a lower powered CPU and I always considered them (rightly or wrongly) a MBA or MacBook competitor. I had a SP4 and it was great, but I moved up to a surface book and that definitely has a better feel to it. Just a heads up on thatperhaps I'm actually waiting for the Surface Pro 5 now instead of the MBP!?
Hmm, it's quite confusing, from the link it seems the RX570 is just renamed from RX470??seems that upcoming MBP can get a refresh of dGPU also..http://wccftech.com/amd-radeon-500-mobility-rebrand-rx-570/
Or, you know, Apple will prove critics right again not being able to build upgradeable up-to-date workstation and abandon it for years...Haha, laugh all you want but it's very plausible since AMD will be releasing their Vega cards and with how many people complaining about Apple can't build a powerful computer, we might see Apple proving critics wrong in the form of a updated MacPro
Well, it's similar to MBP non-touchbar.The Surface PRo machines are a tablet that can work as a laptop. They use a lower powered CPU and I always considered them (rightly or wrongly) a MBA or MacBook competitor.
Well I doubt they'll ever build a user-upgradeable workstation though I'm pretty sure if they want to, they can build it.Or, you know, Apple will prove critics right again not being able to build upgradeable up-to-date workstation and abandon it for years...

Will Kaby Lake change alter that? From what I've ready Kaby Lake isn't that big of a change. The reasons I won’t buy it: 90% touch bar, 10% Skylake.
The 12" MacBook has had 1280x800 as the default resolution while the display is only 2304 x 1440. That didn't change with the 2016 update so I wouldn't get my hopes up. But I do agree with you that a change to IGZO would give them a reason to bump up the resolution.Seems to me the fact that apple has quietly pushed the default resolution to 1680x1050 is quite telling. I think we'll see a mid year refresh with kaby lake, terraced battery and 3360x2100 IGZO retina display.

I heard the OLED of the Touch bar could wear out (as any OLED does). Specifically the blue color might be affected. I don't have a link to that. Could that mean that in 4 years (after Apple care expires) the touchbar loses it's color?
Ugh. Are there any long term experiences from phones? This could be a hit on resale value.Yes, there's no way around that. The light of the OLED pixels gets dimmer the more they are used. Blue pixels will wear out the fastest and you'll see a "burn-in" effect. I'm expecting this to show on the esc key first since it is fixed in place and almost always on. Apple put a 75 second timeout on the TB but it will light up again as soon as you touch the MBP. We'll have to see how good these OLED panels can hold out a few years from now.
