If anything, it will be a silent update. I don't think we'll see any hardware announcements at WWDC, just because Apple has focused on software these past few years for WWDC
While your statement is certainly true, I have to wonder what Apple has been doing.
There has been very little functionality added to iOS, document sharing between Apps is a shame, multi-user support and a "Home Folder" is against Apples principle.
I would like to hand my iPad or iPhone to someone, he clicks on "Nee Profile", can show me an online document, look up a phone number and call someone, or anything similar.
Docunents and Media Libraries have to be tied to a user without the strong coupling of iCloud because it just isn't practical to use today. Data is duplicated to App sandboxes, cannot be partially viewed or streamed.
In short: I could come up with twenty really useful ideas that would not require SD cards, external storage or other phantasies, but Apple has in fact done nothing to make an iPad Pro even remotely user friendly.
Sorry for the long rant.
PS: I really believe Apple has problems hiring software developers because of their strict policies.
Everyone wanting to work for Apple has to virtually disappear from any public developer conmubity.
