So ironic that you're the one to write this. :)
So you don't have sources as you failed to provide them for several posts in a row. Ok. Noted.
Wow, what brazen defiance of plain facts. Again, be specific about what you're in doubt about, and I will explain it to you. Please don't intentionally misrepresent what I've said again.

So not objective facts as you continually beat over my head with. Basically you're engaging in propagating in a mythology (your words)

When I linked to reviews and blogs you were quick to dismiss them and called my actions dishonest yet its ok for you to use reviews and comments to support your position.
Um, when the issues in question are about what reviews say and whether people like something, reviews and what people say in comments are obviously proper sources. Did you even read the discussion before jumping in to accuse me of doing what you've actually done?

It's dishonest to repeat unsubstantiated rumors as facts even after it's been repeatedly pointed out that they're unsubstantiated.

Yes, but all I see is that when its your benefit you justify your position, but when someone says anything critical about Apple you comment that links to blogs/reviews and what not are promoting a mythology.

Being specific: please provide sources to prove your mythological (as of now) claims. :p

Yes! Stop doing it!

Exactly, all you see is what suits you. The difference could not be more plain between citing rumors as fact and citing personal preferences as personal preferences. What mythology am I promoting? Your cohort in silliness can't point it out. Can you?

Of course! Hereby I'm pointing out at least your recent posts including previous page. To start, please provide sources to prove the claims you've made.

Do you guys think it's likely we'll see Kaby Lake MBPs sooner than October/fall/late 2017?

If you want an optimistic view, someone counted the days between MBP releases over the years and figured 250 days is typical, so it could be sooner. (But October seems an opportune time for holiday sales.)

If Intel will be able to get Coffe Lake released this year, as they plan, a October release could become a disaster.
Because of the Ryzen CPUs Intel is trying to get Coffe Lake released and shipped between Late 2017 and Early 2018 if we can believe in current rumours about that.
Apple will feature Kaby Lake CPUs, because they will have to start production several weeks before the release, to get the first models shipped near the release.

I suppose we could see a quiet spec-bump in June/July. A Q4 release wouldn't be optimal, because the CPUs would be "old" again. If Apple planned a Q4 release, they could be forced by Intel to move the release forward, or to live with the problem in releasing old hardware.
Also it wouldn't surprise me if many people are waiting in buying a MBP, because the Kaby Lake CPUs feature H.265/HEVC, are less energy consuming and feature Intel's SpeedShift Technology.

If we don't see the lowly little 12-inch MacBook get a Kaby Lake update before WWDC, then I think it means that it, along with the MacBook Pros, will be updated at WWDC. I don't expect they'll get a lot of stage time — basically it'll be Apple's way of shoring up the notebooks by announcing them with the new Kaby Lake chips. Apple has done this sort of thing in the past. And, if you recall at the MacBook Pro keynote last October, Phil made a point of showing the entire notebook line on stage.

This has been the problem I've noticed when thinking about Apple's refresh schedule. If they keep releasing at the end of the year, they'll keep releasing the "old processor" while the new one is being released on other computers, therefore making them almost a year behind every year. But at the same time, I'm not sure that Apple will want to release a new MBP any earlier than a year.

This would make sense to me. I really hope you're right. I would love to get a Kaby Lake MBP before my fall semester starts, rather than having to wait for it to come in the mid-late part of the semester.

Apples own press statements.
Not even close. Nowhere does Apple say or imply that sales are are only fine if you count the 2015 +2016 models together, or that the 2016 can't even sell as many as the 2015 the year before.

You didn't even look at the numbers, you just blindly spam your fanboism. The mac sales 2016 Q4 was 4.9mio, Q3 was 4.2mio. This was during one of the most anticipated launches for the Macbook because no significant update since forever. How did it go 2015 in a basically non-event year? 2015 Q4 5.7mio, 2016 dropped almost 20%. Q3 dropped too.

So apple releases a statement "most online bla bla". Singeling out some obscure metric instead of sales, should make your ******** meter go bananas (most online for a product only available online at launch, no **** Sherlock).

Q4 didn't improve, so now in full panic "we are committed to the macs, just wait 1-2 years".

Then add all the rumors from the forum saying the same as the numbers show.

These are apples own numbers.

Nonsense decorated with silly name calling. You're apparently relying on sales figures for Macs as a whole. This is about the MBP. Here's what Apple says about that: "Obviously, as you know, we just did a very major update to the MacBook Pro line. That’s going very well. Customers absolutely love it, we’ve had a lot of customers buying them. Big numbers, as I said, 20 percent growth year over year."

(As for overall Mac sales, those are doing better than the market, from what I've read.)

They project yoy (they haven't sold it a year yet) from launch sales. And in what metric? I'll bet you it is revenue. Spin spin spin.

Not what year over year means. Whether it's revenue or units, it's not what you said.

All I want is:

32GB RAM option
Bring back magsafe
17" Screen option, in matte/anti-glare

Is that too much to ask?

Considering the Kaby Lake specs and the past releases, I would answer with "yes".
17" would be a real surprise. Maybe if Apple really plans a Pro-Pro model.
In my opinion, the 15"-model will has max. 16GB to remain the battery life.
If KGI analyst Kuo is right and Apple will release a 32GB-model, we could maybe see a 17" model with 32GB RAM; Apple could use the space to put a bigger battery in the machine. But this is really unlikely in my opinion.

Have faith my friend. FAITH.

I read that Apple had wanted to use a larger battery but incurred problems that would have delayed the release so they bit the bullet and opted for a smaller battery. That being said, I do expect them to use a larger battery now that they had time to iron out those problems.

32GB quite likely. If I'm not mistaken the necessary modules have been released in the end of last year.
Magsafe not likely.
17" - just no. :(
