Is it me or are there a bunch of “new” MacBook Pro placeholders up on Best Buy? Seems like strange model numbers with prices that are out of whack. Anyone else seeing this?

New to the waiting game so I could be wrong.
FWIW John Lewis have sold out of many MacBook Pro configurations that they offer in the UK, it’s relatively rare (though not unheard of) for them to be out of so many models simultaneously... could be a sign they’ve been clearing out their stock of ‘old’ models?

They are sold out of 13" and 15" Pro's at Best Buy's in my area with in store availability of July 13th. The closest Apple Store's to my house have 13" in stock but none of the 15" Pro in stock with availability of July 12th.

15" models showing as available July 12 in Apple Stores near my area but the 13" are all available, so I don't think an update is imminent. Also before WWDC the base 13 inch models were showing 2 weeks delay in shipping time and that didn't amount to anything.

It seems like the Apple Stores and Best Buy's in my area are all out of the 15" models

I personally think it is happening tomorrow or Wednesday with the announcement of their Back to School sale.

Their low end 15" config isn't available at any Best Buy stores with 250 miles of where I live (Madison, WI) and doesn't even have a shipping option. The higher end 15" config (512/560) isn't available pretty much anywhere and has a longer ship date.

It is weird though that they added a bunch of different configurations. Not sure what to think of that... Maybe that is just Apple wanting to find additional ways to get rid of existing inventory? Or maybe I am completely wrong and they just want more SKUs available at Best Buy for the BTS sale without a refresh.

Why would anyone think it's coming this week? Just curious. I'd love for it to, as I'm looking to upgrade. But I have not even seen any rumors containing any such verbiage.

A sales at Apple Store refused to sell it to me and asked me to wait for today or tomorrow for back to school silent mbp 2018 upgrade.

Can we combine our will power to make it happen?

It’s not going to happen. In 13 hours time, they’ll be no news. We are setting ourselves up for a fall here...

Why is there some idea that tomorrow has significance?
The Eurasia leaks usually become truth in two weeks. Apple usually update in Tuesday. MacOs 10.13.6 just released. The macs registered in Eurasia database exactly run MacOs10.13.6. It is a good time to update mbp otherwise the 8th coffelake-h series will be defeated by 9th U-series in September.

Usually. In April there were new products (iPhone and iPad) registered in Eurasia, but nothing since then came out

I'd love there to be new Macs this summer, as opposed to in September or October, but I feel like we're at the point where somebody seeing an Apple-shaped cloud in the sky will lead to another 10 pages of talk on here about them being released imminently. We'll see, I guess. It's fun to be along for the ride. This thread's gonna blow up when we're finally given what we all want! :)
