...and most likely only available in the black, 16, wifi flavor. Don't be fooled.![]()
I refuse to buy from bestbuy. They were such a beating with the ipad2 that we left during the transaction and went to the apple store. The best buy guy didn't know how to just sell us the ipad. We didn't want a case - he showed us cases anyway, "just in case". We didn't want to put it on the BB credit card - had to discuss why not. Went to pay and the rewardzone wasn't working - told me if I call a 1-800 number and explain the situation and they should allow me to get the points. I told him I didn't want to pay for it until the rewardzone points would count at purchase. He still rang it up and asked for my payment. ugh. Never again.
At apple: I told them what I wanted. Asked how I wanted to pay. Brought my wife's ipad. I left. Soooo much easier.
I called my brother who has a preorder but for 2-3 weeks for a white wifi 16gb. Told him about the walmart release..he is now there number 2 in line tonight. Evidently their store in Orlando has 25. 15 of those are 16gb wifi only. There are only 3 folks there right now. Most people have not seemed to find out about the release. I'm glad I get to sleep in and relax for mine to deliver tomorrow![]()
I'm considering going out with the misses tonight to see if they have any, but if they only have black...I think I would wait. MY question however is if we do decide to get one tonight, what kind of warranty would we have? Could we still take it to apple if anything happened to it?
My local Wal-Mart says they have 7 in stock and will go on sale at 12:01 am. I asked which models they and told me they couldn't release such information.
That, and well, how about chewing Tim Cook's butt as well? Didn't he have to sign off on this?
And I can't see S.J. ever deciding to name this thing "the New iPad." More than anything else that shows Apple is now being driven by its marketing dept (who apparently never learned the lesson of "New Coke").
You get the same warranty no matter which retailer you buy it from.
Why would anyone buy an iPad from Walmart unless they live somewhere with no Apple Retail Store?
Oh gee, I can get it at midnight early. Yeah, in my experience, getting stuff at the release date turns into a hassle later. My iMac (which was my dad's) shipped with a faulty GPU that broke a year ago that NVIDIA put in some of the iMacs. Of course, my dad got it release-date.
I wonder if they are getting any white models for the launch, seems most of the posts on these pages refer to black models
The nearest Apple store to my house is approximately 140 miles away and Wal-Mart is only 5 miles away.

I wonder if they will have an old person standing at the door checking receipts to make sure you paid for your iPad.
