Walmart to Offer New iPad Beginning at 12:01 AM Local Time

So called walmart this morning and they said we aren't getting the new iPad. Called this afternoon different guy said don't know. So just called now and really helpful guy said that they are in and if I could hold a second and he would verify if they were selling at midnight or 8am. He came back and said they will sell it to me at 1201am and I am the first to ask about them selling the new iPad. He also said that they only have the Wi Fi black model in 16GB and 32GB. So now I sit here debating because I have a 16GB Black coming tommorow from Apple but thinking maybe I should of gone 32GB instead. hmmm what to do what to do.

So, I placed my order with Apple last week and just missed getting my iPad for Friday delivery as they sold out of the pre-order supply. I have been calling around to local retailers trying to find my best option for waiting in line. However, I had the idea to call around to Walmart earlier today and the electronic representative told me they would not have the new one for at
least a month... (REALLY?!
). I came on here at 7:30 PM EST and seen the post, so I tried my local Walmart again... They were so confused. I called a town over and the guy there had to ask his manager. He said they would start giving out tickets for the 15 iPads they have at 8:00PM and they would have priority at the 12:01AM launch. So, I rushed over there and was able to get my 32GB on reserve as long as I show up at 12:01AM.
For those who can't wait.. and didn't make the Apple pre-order, call your Walmart ahead of time and see if they are also handing out tickets.

...and most likely only available in the black, 16, wifi flavor. Don't be fooled.
Yeah I called several Walmarts in my surrounding areas. They will have a very small amount-maybe five. All will be 16 GB Wifi. If thats what you want, then get it, but its not what I want.
As much as I want the new iPad as soon as possible, I still want more memory and LTE. It was a difficult to push myself to make that decision and I'm not going back on it.
I might try the Verizon store otherwise I'' wait until the 21st to get my Black 32 GB LTE new iPad.
I'm considering going out with the misses tonight to see if they have any, but if they only have black...I think I would wait. MY question however is if we do decide to get one tonight, what kind of warranty would we have? Could we still take it to apple if anything happened to it?
My local Wal-Mart says they have 7 in stock and will go on sale at 12:01 am. I asked which models they and told me they couldn't release such information.
I called my brother who has a preorder but for 2-3 weeks for a white wifi 16gb. Told him about the walmart release..he is now there number 2 in line tonight. Evidently their store in Orlando has 25. 15 of those are 16gb wifi only. There are only 3 folks there right now. Most people have not seemed to find out about the release. I'm glad I get to sleep in and relax for mine to deliver tomorrow
I know I'll be sleeping in waiting for the FedEx guy who comes at 11am. Although I kinda want to go watch the dog and pony show that will be the 8 am door opening at the Apple Store, haha
Uh, New Coke Bombed because they were trying to taste like Pepsi totally forgetting their customers liked them cause they didn't taste like Pepsi. Also the reason Diet Coke doesn't taste like Coke is because it was made to taste like New Coke and by the time they caved up Diet Coke drinkers were already entrenched in the Diet Coke flavor.
It had nothing to do with the name at all. The product was awful, it wasn't going to sway Pepsi drinkers (Why drink a drink that is trying to taste like Pepsi when you can drink Pepsi) and it was just going to piss off Coca Cola drinkers (who don't want their drink to taste like Pepsi).
I am amazed at the tone of these posts. I make a 100 percent factual (if flippant) comment in another topic yesterday and am branded a racist and ignorant in like 2 seconds and everyone here seems to assume everyone that works and shops at Wal-mart are nothing but toothless ,barefoot ,knuckle-draggers.

I just called my local 24 hour store, said they had some in stock and no one was there yet. Which is strange since its right next to the university, maybe my fellow students aren't as apple savvy as I'd hope
Just called my local Walmart... they said they had 5 Wifi 16gig in stock with 2 people lined up for them already... If they had said they had any larger sizes there I probably would have headed over there... Oh well I want to watch the IU game anyway right now.
I wonder if they are getting any white models for the launch, seems most of the posts on these pages refer to black models
Why would anyone buy an iPad from Walmart unless they live somewhere with no Apple Retail Store?
Oh gee, I can get it at midnight early. Yeah, in my experience, getting stuff at the release date turns into a hassle later. My iMac (which was my dad's) shipped with a faulty GPU that broke a year ago that NVIDIA put in some of the iMacs. Of course, my dad got it release-date.

The nearest Apple store to my house is approximately 140 miles away and Wal-Mart is only 5 miles away.

I wonder if they will have an old person standing at the door checking receipts to make sure you paid for your iPad.
I was curious to this too, I called and asked, they just said they had some of the new iPads in stock, when I asked which color she got kind of mad and said she didn't know...
No one lined up at our Walmart. They have 16 gig wifi white and black. 16 gig 4G black and 32 black wifi only. Sadly he didn't say the magic words. 64 gig.
Yeah, if you don't have a store near you, then it's easier. Then again, don't they have free shipping from Apple.com? You could just have it be delivered instead of driving AND dealing with a limited selection.
In the US, most people have a Walmart much closer than an Apple Retail Store.
