Was I scammed? Iphone Iclone?

The "extra battery" and the fact it works "with any SIM" (in the USA, it'll only work with AT&T or T-Mobile) were clues...

I'll call him at 3 am and belch into my phone only to hang up and call back every 5 minutes, to do the same, until 4, every night until he caves.

My idea is that he advertising this as a 2g/edge Iphone, it insinuates that is an apple Iphone. He also puts includes at&t there that would also insinuate that if the phone we're locked it would be used with AT&T. Also the camera on the phone does not work, and it does not have 8GB. It only has 1 MB of memory total. (I think it uses SD card and it's missing)

I have this guys Name, email address, and cell phone number and he is unwilling to return my money for this product.

If he refuses to return your money call your State's Attorney General's Office and report this person to their Fraud Division. Always remember if the price looks to good to be true it usually is.
 
You could've found out your answer really fast by just going to flickr and searching iPhone 2G and comparing the pics to your actual phone.
 
I am talking to the guy via email, he is saying that because i got to check it out first, that its my fault for not researching it. I do understand I should have educated myself about the iphone first, but its still not right for him to sell this as an iphone when it in fact NOT an iphone... i dont know what else to say to convince him... maybe i can find some examples of people getting in trouble for this to show him
 
Honestly, who buys a phone off of Craig's List? That is just so damn retarded I don't even know what to say about it.

I've bought two iPhones off craigslist and i would think it's safer than any other thing like eBay since you get to see the product in person. But it doesn't make a difference if you don't know how to spot out a fake iPhone.

Fair enough. As long as you arrange the meeting in a safe public place, it's a great way to buy/sell things.

eBay is safe as long as you pick and choose who you buy from. Do your research on sellers.

He promised an iPhone, what you got was NOT an iPhone. Fraud, pure and simple.

Same here, but bought an unlocked on yesterday. You just have to be smart about it.
 
wait a minute. you bought a phone that doesn't have multi touch or an app store or cydia/installer and you still think it's the iPhone?
