Hi there i was wondering if any of you have expirence lower battery life on your watch when youre listening to music or podcasts on your iphone (connected to your watch)?

I have the 42mm SG watch and my GF has the 38mm and she gets way more battery life than i do. I ve turn down brightness to the lowest and she has it at mid level. We use the watches very similarly (only getting texts from each other) and so on. The only differences is that I've listening to podcasts on my phone which the apple watch then connects in glances. Im wondering if thats causing lower battery for me. It just very very weird since the 42 is suppose to get better battery but im getting at least 20-30% less battery performance.

I'm not getting as good battery life as some of you. I'm using about 20% every 3 hours.

Started at 6AM - By 11PM it was at 26%.
Turn off the fitness monitor and activity tracking, and power saving under the heart rate, and you'll get a lot better battery.

so basically turn off all the features that you bought the watch for and you get better battery life lol

I haven't had an issue yet and I use it from about 5am to 930pm usually around 30%

Maybe thats why YOU ordered it. I didnt want any of this crap to begin with. I would have taken 100% more battery and ditched the stupid heart rate monitor.

I'm ending the day with 60-70% and the heart rate monitor on. The only thing I turned off was the push notifications for fitness goals.

I also have prominent haptic on and default brightness.

I don't know what I am doing incorrectly but today I got less than 10 hours of battery life.

Oh yes!

Took it off at 7AM yesterday morning, It's now 1AM, and I still have 33% remaining.

What level of interaction do you use your  Watch at? Between a 6 and 7. Constantly checking the time, and sending texts/iMessages. Checking apps such as email, instagram, Jack'd:eek:, and constantly keeping up with the Activity application.

Brightness is all the way up, even though it seems as if there is an annoying auto-brightness that I'm not a fan of, and mines is a 42MM.

Took my 38mm off the charger at 8:30am, dead at 12:03am for a run of 15.5hrs. I was able to eek out an extra 70 minutes compared to yesterday by pausing the Acitivty app between sets during my workout, but as a result my exercise time and calories burned appear lower.

Still unacceptable results when I see other people whose watches have 20% or more to spare by night's end.

this is what I did to budget my battery on both watch and phone. I think it works.

Phone:
Location services to either never or while using. Even if watch apps tells you to turn on to always, don't or find a new app. Apple's weather app I dont even allow, just add the cities you frequent for forecast. Yahoo weather app still work even if you set it to while using only.

"Apple watch faces" to never use location. It's only for moon phases and sun set/rise, which I have no use for.

Watch:
Glances I removed are maps and heartbeat (seems to update a lot). I don't use any watch faces with weather. Good luck.

What time do you take it off from charging? Around 8AM
What percentage is it when you put it back on at night? Been averaging ~45%.
Also how many hours do you have it off of charging? 14 hours.
What level of interaction do you use your  Watch at? About a 4. (Checking the time around 10 times an hour, new Notification every 10-15 mins, replying to less then 10 messages, 1-3 5-10 min phone calls.)
And finally what size do you have? 42mm

I've found my watches battery life is getting better! (The amount of use per day has been consistent since Saturday - I played with it a lot on Friday!)

By this time the watch was at the following percentages on the following days: (readings are from 10:30am / 11:00pm)

Saturday: 76% / 22%
Sunday: 84% / 30%
Monday: 90% / 40%
Tuesday: 96% / 48% (!!!)

(Note the watch is charged from 11pm to 6am give or take half a hour)

Judging by that rate of improvement, by this Friday the watch should be charging its self. lol

All jokes aside - I work for an automotive engineering company and spoke to the Li-Ion battery specialist. He suggests that it's possible that apple (or the supplier!) didn't condition the batteries fully before shipping hence why I am seeing the improvement.

Put the watch on (After charging over night) @ 4:50am and had to go into reserve power mode by 2:30pm off reserve power @ 4pm and 3% by 6:45pm

I just realized that's some nice histogram right there! Intro to Stat has taught me well :) haha

Got some photos for you all. My day included phone calls, messages, an hour long workout using the app, reminders, etc. Not over yet, but I've definitely got enough to last another hour until bedtime. First one shows Watch usage, and notice at top right how much juice I still have on phone.

My usage is more like yours. Not heavy use but including 30-1hr of workouts. With mid/std brightness I am seeing maybe 15-17 hours of "standby" with 4.5-5 hours of usage.

I did initially have it set to most bright. Knocking that down to middle/standard only seen to have bought an hour or so. The heaviest usage of battery is the workout app (with HR on), and then 3rd party apps. Glances don't seem too bad, it's the loading of the full on 3rd party apps that seems to be a killer. In other words, don't read your twitter feed on the thing for an hour.

I turned off the Weather 'complication' I had on the watch face and my battery life has improved dramatically!

I have weather complication on as well (I love it) but you may be onto something... it uses location services to ping where you are. This definitely adds some drain (I'm guessing an hour or so in a day, given what I am getting) every time you look at the face.

Personally, I refuse to turn off any features just to make it through the day; people were already struggling to find a purpose for the Watch - I don't consider eliminating any one of the handful of built-in features it offers a viable solution really.

I use the weather complication and have no issues getting through the day - again, with a 1 hour workout included. Last night I had 40% left when I went to bed.
