If I get a 12, it will be a Pro model.

Color choices change:

12 Pro: Graphite or Pacific Blue

Marques showing off the not Red 12 changed my mind about that. And seeing the Pacific Blue in various videos also warmed me up to that color.

Justine’s video footage tests with the 12 Pro were very good. I’d like that telephoto option for bird watching etc.

Mag safe: Case and charger look good. Wasn’t sold on the wallet and Marques’ tests confirmed why.

Will wait, as I want confirmation of Qualcomm modems. Have to test the SE on my commutes and on site at my job. If they’re as poor as my home connectivity now, I’ll upgrade.

This has clearly become the great debate of 2020. Are you a non-Pro Blue or Pacific Blue person? :)

It's the new "what size iPad is better?". :D
I may not be thinking about this correctly. But, it seems to me that the magnet in the phone is not strong enough to reliable hold up a phone.

Belkin has already announced MagSafe accessories that hold up the phone.

Yeah, I'm hesitant to try that out of the gate. I'll let some other people try it on their phones first haha.

Some people are going to be disappointed about that “Red”.

I didn’t think the MagSafe would be sturdy for car mount use as is. A bump would surely cause it to drop, maybe just enough normal road vibration will cause it to slip. I always planned for something more to hold my iPhone than MagSafe.

The wallet demo was a fail. I can see that being a problem since most men carry their phones in their pockets. Don’t give up the wallet you have now, I guess.

Wow, watching the first video (the one from Marques Brownlee) on the YouTube app on my iPad Pro with Magic Keyboard, and for my surprise now I can control the video playback on the iPad YouTube app with the space bar (play/pause) and the left and right arrow keys (skip back and forward) on the Magic Keyboard. Finally!

The 12 blue looks fantastic in The Verge’s review. But then it looks bad in other videos. That color really is playing tricks on us.

I think UrAvgConsumer's review is probably representative of how the 12's blue looks under natural light. All the other videos (especially Engadget's) have bright/harsh lighting, or seem to be using a vivid color filter in their header images.

Lol. Nope. It immediately renders every other Qi charger in existence inferior. I’ve used too many to count and they all suffer the same dreadful issues, which MagSafe just comes out and solves like it never existed.

The wallet might be worthless, but the overall MagSafe system is brilliant. The new 3-in-1 station Belkin is making is the nightstand charger to have.
Interesting. For two years I’m placing my iPhone onto my 7 dollar Qi charger when I go to sleep and the next morning it’s at 100%. Sometimes small extra charges on the Qi mat in my car.
They could be only half as fast as they are it would still be good enough.
I really wonder why apple is doing this crap over and over again to otherwise great products. *thinking of charging pencil gen 1*

Seriously, did not a single reviewer get the gold model?
Based on this and anecdotal evidence that gold pro preorders haven't been moving on the backend like the other colors so far, I think the golds are late and/or in shorter supply.

Thank you Macrumors for not including “EverythingApplePro” in that round up, and he is one I would not watch his videos and/or care for his content.
I used to really like his content. Over the years it’s just become watered down, recycled, and talking over renders that usually end up being way off. I unsubscribed finally.

Perhaps the car mounts will have stronger magnets on them. Or maybe they'll have a little ledge to give it extra support at the bottom of the phone. I hope they figure this out... since MagSafe charging car mounts are what I'm really excited about!

In contrast... the MagSafe puck was made thin on purpose... thus its magnets aren't very strong. You wouldn't want a big, thick, heavy disc on the back of your phone as you hold it.

part of apples marketing strategy is to release a new color with every pro release, there are already gold silver and space grey pros out there so they want people to see the blue and get it because its blue
