I'm noticing significant speed improvements. Some of them are a bit dizzying and I'm having to re-adjust as I'm so used to the pause between some actions.

Taptic feedback on max is also a little stronger.

I wonder if Apple reads stuff like this and just giggles? I see no difference in taptic strength or any speed improvements.

As I said a little later on, the Taptic could just be placebo but the speed improvements are definitely there. Most noticeably loading 3rd party apps (the BBC news app used to have a really good think before opening) and perhaps more importantly dismissing notifications. I used to have them hanging around a good 10 seconds or sometimes permanently until I closed notifications and opened it again after dismissing them. Now they go straight away which is a welcome change.

Wow I never had a delay on dismissing. I'm wondering if there is a difference on when these were manufactured. I have not had any of the delays and such mentioned here.

I've wondered that too. I've never had an issue with just twisting my arm without lifting it to get the screen to activate, nor have I had trouble dismissing notifications. Hmmm.

I never had any of those issues prior to the update, so maybe it was just a good reboot that solved it for you...

Here's another change: in both the Stopwatch and Timer apps, the start button is now on the right side of the screen and the reset button is on the left. (At least, for those of us that are wearing the watch on our left wrist.)

This is much more fluid then it was before.

The timer complication is so much more fluid and faster. Loving it

Yeah...I timed the latest at around 6 seconds. I think it used to be 4.

At least on my watch, it is now 10 seconds. It used to be 6 when you raised your wrist, and longer if you tapped the screen to wake it.

The longer time is a nice change for sure.

EDIT: Okay, this is weird. The first 2 or 3 times I tried it, it seemed to last 10 seconds, or at least to a slow count of 10, which isn't quite the same thing. Now I can only count to 8 before it turns off, which may be more like 6 full seconds. Maybe I was just overly enthusiastic the first few times.

I wonder if instead of actually extending the time the screen is on, they just tweaked it to prevent it from shutting off early?

Nope stays on longer. Glad they did that. Before it turned off way too quick.

I'm really glad to see this. I just timed it:

Upon initial wrist raise, the screen stay on for 6 seconds.
If you tap the screen, it now stays on for 18 seconds.

Approximately how long does the update (after download) actually take? Ballpark estimates are welcome.

Just curious...what size watch are you using?

Update is not showing as available for me :(

Says I am up to date on 1.0
Servers are probably really busy...you may want to try again later...

It has been re-booted a fair few times since I got it but nvm. Seems the number of people who seem to notice a difference are in equal number to those that don't so there's little point arguing. It is what it is I guess.

It takes about 10-12 minutes.

When it starts applying the update you get the Apple logo with the dotted lines around the screen and it lights up the lines as it goes.. this takes the longest and must be the actual upgrade.

It then restarts and does the same, this time much quicker. Probably updating profile settings and reinstalling apps.

Then final boot and you are up and running :)

I notice no difference at all with anything other then the emoji. I don't use 3rd party apps yet tho.

Now that they adjusted some of the fitness capabilities I hope they work on a more robust Fitness app. I'd like to see something like what fitbit has. At least put some emphasis on step on the watch face
