Same on my series 5. Battery to 4% at the same point when I should have 30-35%!

I am seeing something similar. After 10.5 hours of use so far today (5am-3:30pm), I hit 10%. Normally by 10pm (17-18 hours), I still have 30-40%.

That is a huge difference and the only change was Watch OS 7 on a Series 5.

I came her to ask if anyone else was seeing it, and lo and behold, this was at the top.

edit:
1. I was reading that in the betas, people were suggesting that you turn off the hand washing feature to improve battery life. The consensus then was that it helped some people, but not others. Of course, my hand washing wasn't even on - so that wasn't it for me.

2. I am going to try the press and hold down both the digital crown and the side button at the same time until it reboots and charge it for 30 minutes and go from there.

3. I do NOT want to do the unpair or set up as new if possible.

Battery issue here too. Suddenly awful. 10% at 7:30pm when it’s usually 40%. Glad it’s not my imagination.

Apple Watch 5 44mm Titanium here. After the update to watchOS 7 nothing has changed. I get 10-15% after 18 hours of use. I have everything enabled all the time except Cellular. Typical use case also involves two workouts daily. So it obviously does not affect all watches all the time. Never had any battery problems with mine.

After my run yesterday which consumed about 56% in one hour, I did a reset. Had a workout (no GPS) this morning where I listened to a podcast on my iPhone (!) and during these 30 minutes the consumption was about 10%. I suspect that "Now playing" or Overcast is eating battery.

When you guys say you did a 'reset' - what do you mean? Do you mean you unpaired and repaired it? If so and I was to do this what should I do with the cellular contract part of the unpairing process?

Thanks

Yes. Unpair and repair. I did it tonight and my AW5 works much better on battery.

Thanks, how do you do that? I'm sure there used to be an 'unpair' option but I can't find it?
In watch, settings->general->and last option (reset I think, cant check because i don’t use English language in my watch)

Or in watch app in iPhone, tap the settings at the upper right corner (above name of your watch), you can find their “unpair”

Thanks, I've changed face from GMT to CountUp and it seems like that might have fixed it but if it hasn't I'll give this a go.

Ok, "my" reset is pressing crown and button a while until Apple logo appears.

if anybody has any tips for me I would really appreciate it.

Go on about your normal business. Give it a few days.

If curious, go back to the posts this time last year when everyone was complaining about battery life of the new S5.

If still curious, go back to the posts this time two years ago when everyone was complaining about battery life of the new S4.

:)

My battery life has been bad since updating. I had to throw it on the charger after work yesterday to make it through the rest of the day which I never have to do. Not sure what is going on. I reset the watch and paired it again so we will see if that helps

I’m currently using an S5. I had no such issues last year. It was fully charged when I went to bed. Woke up and it was ~60%. None of my previous watches ever lost 40% over night while I was sleeping. I‘ll see how today goes. If it’s still bad I’ll try a restore.

If you've not done a power off reboot, that would be the first thing to try. Sounds like an app is confused.

Various folks had different battery experiences this time last year - some were fine, some had issues. No clear delineation. I'd expect about the same this year.

I have a series 5 SS and was using the Public beta and had horrible battery life once I updated to the GM (I had to charge my watch 3 times and I didn't even do a workout). After reading some posts here I had forgotten to remove the beta profile so I did that - and rebooted again....and so far this morning it's draining normally. 6 % in 1.5 hours. Yesterday it was 20% or so in the same time frame.

Cheers,
Bobbie

I have the same experience with the bad battery life. My S5 at 100% at 10 am thia morning and now it's 5 PM and I have 45% - battery no work out and normal usage.

So far today after a force reboot yesterday, it is still losing about 10% per hour vs 5% previously.

I may try the pair and unpair later when I have time.

It may be too early to tell but it seems like unpair and re-pair solved it for me. To do this go to the Watch app and at the top left you'll see "All Watches", if you tap that you'll see your watch and then tap the 'i' next to it to unpair it. When you unpair it the phone makes a backup of your watch which you can then install again when you re-pair it.

The whole process took about 10 minutes and I noticed when my watch came back on that it was about 15% lower than when I unpaired it, so maybe there's some kind of calibration issue with the battery indicator or something like that.

I did that at this morning (UK) and then charged it, this was about 2.5-3 hours ago and is now on 99% so I'm happy with that.

I have been experiencing the same thing, yesterday i lost 10% by just sitting on the couch for 30ish minutes. Ill try to disable the handwash thingy first and if that doesnt help will unpair and re-pair.

Updated last night.

6.8 mile walking workout this morning. Airplane mode. Listened to music.

100% down to 26%. Usually 55-58% with cellular enabled.
