For easier comparison could we use the following format:

Model: S6 44mm GPS
Watch Face: Infograph with 8 Complications
Non-Default: Handwashing On
Workouts/Streaming: 75min Workout
Full Discharge or Partial Discharge Report: Full
Battery Life/Time:
0% Remaining after 21.6 hours = 4.6% per hour
Notes: This is the first full cycle after getting the watch. 1 ECG measurement

If AOD is off, please note under non-default.

Full discharge means until the watch dies. This is important because the actual percentage takes a while to calibrate... it’s common for a watch to get stuck at 100% for several hours, and/or totally die at 20-25% remaining because it hasn’t been calibrated properly.

just a thought and an idea, when iOS 13 came out I had an issue with the Solar Dial face. I didn’t need to be actually using the face, just having it installed caused an issue for some reason, so if you’ve got it installed try removing it. If not try removing all your faces to see if one is the cause.

The other thing you could try is going through your settings on the watch (not the watch app on the phone) as when I did this I found some things still turned on that I thought I had turned off on the watch app on the phone (breathe alerts for example).

hope that helps, good luck!
Thanks for the reply, my watch actually now running after resetting last night along with my iPhone with a fresh start. No apps are installed in both iPhone & watch. Just a fresh phone now. Still having the issue. watch was in standby mode & in 6 hours it lost 23% charge automatically.
And about watch face i tried several watch faces but still same. i used a very simple watch face & still battery drain is going on.

Same thing on my S4. Terrible battery life. I usually have about 30% reserve at the end of the day when I take it off (about 11pm). Also no GPS when exercising without the phone. Currently doing a reset to see if that fixes it. What an utterly poor show from Apple.

Unpair and re-pair solved my battery drain.
Unfortunately now I cannot activate the pretty cool feature to unlock my Mac with the watch in MacOSX anymore. Hmpf.

Good that unpair/repair is working for some. I wonder what about this process actually resolves anything.

I’ve updated the above post, 21.6 hours of battery life on the new Series 6 on WatchOS 7. Before with Series 5 on WatchOS 6 I used to get more than 24 hours for sure. Perhaps it needs some time to stabilize.

Also, I’ve measured the charge rate for Series 6 and it’s between 0.40-0.45A while off, 0.15A during boot, 0.46-0.47A when on for the first 50% then slows to 0.42A (as long as you don’t touch it).

Took 30mins to get to 50%.

haha wow, same side effect for me! But this feature was always hit or miss during setup for me ...

If you’re having problems setting up your Mac to unlock with your watch after a re-pair, follow the instructions here:

Fixed the problem for me on both my iMac and MBP.

Now how long the battery lasts after unapir & re-pairing again ?

Are the folk unpair/re-pair running an AW5? That is my last resort - I'm trying to let it settle for a couple of days to see if that helps before I do that.....
I also have a new series 6 coming in a couple of weeks and since I will not be going anywhere for any length of time soon I figure I could probably live with the battery until the new watch arrives. I work from home and if I see the battery going down I just put it on the charger on the desk while on conference calls. Just curious...

Cheers!

I received my AW6 LTE yesterday, coming from an AW3 GPS unit, its interesting to see how much faster the battery depletes. This is my first always on/LTE watch, and there may be some background activity going on still. I'll see what happens during a full regular day but its less than an hour of me basically sitting in bed and its down 5% - that's not me using it at all.

I unpaired and re-paired, this morning and it seems to have fixed the issue. We shall see if it continues. It took about 15 minutes.

I unpaired and repaired last night but it doesn’t seem to have fixed the issue. I took a 3 mile walk this morning with the watch fully charged and the battery dropped to 93%. A half hour after that I was down to 82% and I hadn’t done anything workout related with the watch. Hopefully there’s a fix coming for this very soon.

Battery life of my AW5 with WatchOS 7 has been tremendous so far. Yesterday, I went to bed after a full day with some workouts with almost 60% left.
Today, I’ve been out for a 1h run, gained 600points in activity and right now I still have almost 80% after 9h standby and 2h30 of usage. Seems very good.

For those ones with a worse experience: could it have something to do with your settings, e.g. AOD? I don’t use AOD, but I’ve tried it before and I’ve noticed the battery draining much faster here.

So I also did the unpair/repair thing yesterday morning and today everything seems to back to normal. Its been off the charger for about 4 hours and down to 90% which is much better than it was. I would recommend at least giving it a try if you are having battery life issues

I use AOD; would be pretty hard to live without it now. I've used it since the AW5 was released and never had any serious issues with battery life. It's definitely not as good as my AW4 was without AOD, but it was never as bad as it is now.

Another Series 4 with horrendous battery life. Turned off then on again, but no change. Have just unpaired and repaired and hope it will be better. There better be a 7.0.1 coming soon to fix this.

you need to enable it on your Mac. Settings, security, use Apple Watch....

Edit - oh wait, sorry, sounds like you knew that. I’ve just tried it to and keep getting an error message saying make sure watch is on wrist, phone is unlocked. Both are, setting won’t work. I guess that’s what you’re having too?

I unpaired and re-paired last night. So far it seems to have helped. I have 71% left after 7 hours use. Yesterday it was at about 30%.

I feel like the battery reporting on my Series 3 can't be right. I put it on my wrist this morning and went for about a 40 minute bike ride. it's been on my wrist for at least an hour and a half, and both the battery widget and the watch itself say 100%. Also, the battery capacity says 100%. Really? On a years old Series 3? 🤔

My series 5 titanium has had the battery life issue—just shut down last night at 10 PM—usually I have 30%—and only did a short workout (40 minutes). Today a 3 mile run and listening to music, and by 1 PM I’m down to 47%. I’d usually have +20%. I turned off hand washing, to see if that helped, but so far no luck. Still just a rapid drain.

Series 4 40mm Cellular + Watch OS 7 = On 2nd recharge today (instead of all-day battery life)... First recharge at 1pm, now at 7pm. Only walking exercise, no other use.

Having this issue too. Series 4, 11 Pro Max. My brother has the same watch and is having no issues with battery life. I've disabled basically every microphone intensive feature (noise and hand washing), background app refresh, deleted apps, and nothing's worked yet.
