Serious question: why does everyone clap and high five when they open an Apple Store?
It's been a "thing" for well over decades but that's a very good question. I want Apple employees to do this next time they open up an Apple Store.

This is a nice, wholesome article. Everyone looks genuinely excited and it's nice to see Tim and Apple express joy looking at a classic Mac that helped start it all, and the fans who share the love of the early days of Apple.

It's a shame that people find the need to be so negative towards Tim at every turn with underlying policial tones and not so subtle gay digs here and there (legit product and business decision critiques aside).

Every now and then I realize that thanks to the iPhone bringing Apple to the masses over the years, the company got so big that it doesn't just attract those who Think Different, but also those who are afraid of and or against the concept behind this idea - a concept that doesn't only pertain to their products.

Wow. Now that's honesty, I guess.

Don't care about how real an interaction is.

Just mug for the camera to make it look "good."

What a world.
Even if the reaction was artificially large, how about mugging so that excited Apple fan enjoyed the interaction. Can you imagine all the judgment and hashtags if TC showed no reaction when meeting fan.

I mean, it's not like I was there or anything. All I have to go on is that photo, and a 40-second video. xD

Alternative scenario: Tim cooly ignores the SE wielding fanboy and waves him away before shaking hands with a tall, well-suited business man at the back of the crowd....
Yeah, sure, bet that would go down well with the Twitterati.
Some people will never have a positive reaction to any conceivable situation.
