Just read this in another thread. One guy says he was contacted by an apple executive. Wether it's true or not I think it's worth the read:

UPDATE ON CALL WITH EXECUTIVE TEAM

Ok so I just got off the phone with the executive team - they had called me yesterday but I missed the call. They emailed me and we arranged a new call for today.

The orders are being strictly monitored. The system they have in place is certainly doing them in the order that it received them and this has checked. The variations seem to be just simply down to the models that have been ordered.

The spreadsheet has been a very informative tool for them and he assured me several times (I think it was 4 times) during the call that it has been viewed by the highest level at Apple. I am unsure if this means Tim Cook is monitoring it or not but they are certainly watching it!

The way things are going he said that he can't make guarantees but almost all orders will be at the earliest points of the delivery timeframes. So those on the 12th-26th May should expect it towards the START of that timeframe if not earlier!

He explained that this is new territory for Apple and they are working around the clock to get the orders fulfilled in the quickest turnaround possible. They are extremely aware that the delays impact their brand and that they want to fulfil all orders quickly as they know everyone is excited. He confirmed that they have viewed the 'How are you feeling' column on the spreadsheet and it's useful to see how people are feeling during the wait. He also said the information from other sources is also useful like twitter and Facebook.

After that call, I must say Apple are doing what they can. He was very professional and sounded sincere that they are working their asses off to get this all sorted for us. He couldn't give me an update on individual orders but the impression I got was that a lot will be fulfilled this week. The team at the highest level at Apple seem to be learning a lot from this and I do now strongly believe they are doing everything they can.

So whilst I am still super excited and incredibly impatient about getting my Apple Watch... I think I am now relieved that I know there is far more hope of getting my watch this week. Keep it up Apple...Let's hope those orders get sorted asap! haha

Sorry, but there's a big difference between "executive team" and "executive support" - the latter being the team of support representatives that normally deal with executive escalations (and we've seen a number of people in the forums talking to them).

Pretty sure HarryT only talked to someone from executive support. I somehow doubt he was on a conference call with the VP's.

Maybe it's just the photo that doesn't do it justice. How did the quality of the monowear band feel to YOU compared to the link band during your try on appointment?

The monowear are not shipping until next week so you can't try them on. My original post on this was that it looked good in the picture.

I have tried on the apple link and it is "fine". Not amazing and not terrible. It is not on par with a tag band whatsoever, but it is relatively expensive. Again, I ordered the SS link. I just decided to cancel when I could get a SS BSB much earlier through a purchase from a friend who ordered two.

I have been working out with the watch and the BSB. But I wear a suit every day and want to dress up the watch. I'm going to wait out the third party SS bands and comparison shop.

you also have to take into consideration the extremely over lofty names that apple gives to the regular grunts ex. "genius bar" that staffed with people who will never be considered geniuses unless compared to single-celled organisms.

Well, at least there's some movement with the band itself - it's better than nothing! I hope to see some progress this week, but I'm not getting my hopes up...

Apologies. You are correct. It was Executive Support not the VP's...don't think anyone but shareholders have that privilege!

Will update my post to Executive Support! Thanks!

My link bracelet just changed its status to preparing for shipment. :D
So maybe your watches will start shipping this week too. Ordered it on release day 10 Minutes after launch at 9:10 am in Germany. Original shipping date was 2-4 weeks, April 28 till May 15.

Holy crap! It's beginning!!!

Super glad people who have had a watch for weeks are getting an extra band. Now if only Apple could get watches out to the rest of the people who ordered a Link Bravelet... What the hell.

You do realize that a watch band and the watch have a much different QA process and requirements..right? The fact they are shipping is a GOOD thing. It means they're in production, the watches will follow.

Well this is certainly a momentous occasion! Break out the champaign!

Oh glorious day! I hope this is a sign that the Space Black AW orders are also coming in!?

You haven't handled either band so you have no idea the quality. I already have my SS 42 BSB because I canceled my :02 link order so I'd get my watch this decade. I will either order the apple link separately or get a third party SS band.

I have a tag heuer SS link watch that is gorgeous. I can certainly afford whatever band I want, but I've tried on the apple link and it feels "cheapy" (not a word my friend) versus my tag.

So before you throw stones you may actually want to touch these bands and compare them in the real world. If you are waiting on this link apple band and you have never touched and felt the band in store you will be underwhelmed notwithstanding the 9 hours Jony puts into each one.

Wow. A "look at my money" and a grammar correction all in one. Of course cheapy isn't a word, this is an internet forum not my dissertation.

I don't think the AW Link should align in quality to your Tag Link. I do, however, think that the AW Link's look outshines that of the more classically, longitudinally linked Monowear version.

Exactly, you haven't compared them either. You are in the same boat. My original comment to your original post was that I thought it "looked" cheap/standard. Nothing special about it (monowear version). To each his own, and enjoy your watch you lucky bastard! Lol. Still waiting over here....

I setup CC alerts specifically for that reason on my banking site - so I'll know when they charge my card. (also got the Deliveries app, so it can give me updates when it actually does start to ship) :)

Me as well. I set one for anything over $1000 just for this reason. The. Yesterday I booked a plane ticket for $1007. Got the alert and was giddy as a school boy. Opened up chase. Oh yeah united. Booooooo.

I want my watch!

Well, my girlfriend's watch with Milanese loop came in today. Ordered on the 11th, well after I ordered mine with link bracelet. Hopefully ours will start shipping this weekend and we'll have them next week. The Watch (with link bracelet) is coming!

My 42mm SS Apple Watch with SS Link Band was acknowledged by Apple at 00:21am on 4/10/2015. I fear that I'll be a wee bit "down the list" on getting my Watch. Can you say #1,533,921 on the list?!

(as if there were such an orderly way to keep track of what your # was) ;) "Serving number 121 now."

There is nothing special about the Apple link except for apple's claim it takes 9 hours to hand make. It looks like a 1980s Timex. But that said, I may still get one. I'm just providing info on third party bands that are available. You took the first shot, so go away if you're not interested in anything that doesn't involve an official apple logo. Go back under your rock, wait another several weeks for your special band, and drink Jony's koolaide while you're at it.
