My 42mm SS Apple Watch with SS Link Band was acknowledged by Apple at 00:21am on 4/10/2015. I fear that I'll be a wee bit "down the list" on getting my Watch. Can you say #1,533,921 on the list?!

(as if there were such an orderly way to keep track of what your # was) ;) "Serving number 121 now."

Well I ordered mine on 4/18 and have a June available to ship!

That should make you feel a lot better #

There is nothing special about the Apple link except for apple's claim it takes 9 hours to hand make. It looks like a 1980s Timex. But that said, I may still get one. I'm just providing info on third party bands that are available. You took the first shot, so go away if you're not interested in anything that doesn't involve an official apple logo. Go back under your rock, wait another several weeks for your special band, and drink Jony's koolaide while you're at it.

Lol, ok.

I have a third party band on order. A cheap one too, brown leather with my "Click" adapters. The first "shot" I took was at the fact that the Monowear band looks cheap to me. So does the 3rd party leather one I picked up.

42mm Milanese loop shipping out today - 5/5

From what I can read in some other threads as of now .. 42mm SS Milanese loop seem to be getting their shipments prepared today and delivered by tomorrow and here after. So even this model which was committed for May 13 - May 27 are getting more traction than us. what wrong have we done ? other than order this model to begin with !!

It must be a government conspiracy. Isn't there a clause in the Second Amendment that protects our right to bear watches?

At least something is preparing.

If you're worried about your watch getting scratched, you should be more worried about your watch scratching you... :D

Hahaha .. I like the take on this model .. the only watch that's scratching the owners than getting scratched itself.. !!

I too am eagerly awaiting my 42mm SS watch with the link bracelet. I live very close to an Apple store and so have had two watch appointments where I looked closely at the Link band. To be truthful, the first time I saw it I was underwhelmed, although it is still my favorite of all of the Apple bands.

I think that impressions are based upon expectations, experience, and perspective. The pictures of the link band are amazing, but they are highly magnified. I have worn a Rolex for over 30 years. The SS/Gold links on my Rolex are over twice the thickness of the AW band, and are made of a far higher grade of SS. The Rolex SS has a shiny finish compared to the Apple Watch's matte finish. This is due to the differences in the quality of the SS.
It's not really fair to compare the AW band to a Rolex band, is it?

The AW band is considerably lighter than my Rolex band and it is brilliantly engineered. It goes nicely with the watch. I expect to be very happy with it.

For what it's worth, for those who haven't seen it in person, I thought that the Milanese loop band looked far better in person than in the pictures. Almost as nice as the link band, IMHO.

You don't actually want the links in a link band to be too shiny. It causes a reflection hazard - really annoying when outside or in a brightly lit area.

What far higher grade of SS?

I think at this point I'd like to see just ONE 42mm SS Link watch ship... just one... the whole watch LOL

I had wiped my phone over the weekend so I had to set up a new Apple Pay device number. My order status was something like "Awaiting Payment". I quickly fixed that issue and now it says "processing" again. I also have my three bands [link, milanese and BSB] split into two shipments now, so they definitely tried charging me.

This is great news, hopefully they come by Friday!

Pts

My link bracelet (band only also) just went to Preparing to Ship. (I ordered at :05, in a separate order from my SS BSB)

I also just got charged for the brand only - now moved to "Preparing for shipment"

This gives us another of the million reasons to be pissed the way our model is being handled !! You can go out and ship the SS watch with other bands and then SS Link Bracelet Band alone. But not the model itself .. oh come on :apple: are you kidding yourself or us ?

This is just straight up wrong. The finish has nothing to do with the type of steel being used, and everything to do with the fact that the Apple band is hand brushed to give it a matte finish.

NUH UH.... lol.

I laughed at the post you were replying to. Thank you for responding to it.
