It better be (the biggest update since forever), as I can’t even remember when it was last time they actually made any meaningful change to watchOS worthy of a major release. It is very stale now, it could really do with a MAJOR revamp.

I understand people want something completely different all of the time, but it’s not realistic to change the look too much. Seiko's mostly look the same, Casio's mainly look the same, etc… All manufacturers stick to a theme. Plus when you become so big, you are not able to make massive changes, only evolutionary ones. And the Apple Watch is the most popular Watch in the world.

Plus there is no reason why Apple Watch should change their looks. They have more functions than probably any smart watch (albeit, other watches can excel in some features), and there is an abundance of Watch faces already available. I would love a Casio style watch face out of nostalgia, but it’s not going to happen.

There are 9 main styles of Watch faces, and Apple chose square. They could choose another, but the same restrictions apply to any Watch face, and that’s the limitations of having something small on your wrist.

People expect too much from this Computer Manufacturer. If people want a new looking watch, buy a different product.

I just hope it will still support my series 4 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

My Series 4 died after a swim in the river. I'm so sad. 😩 It goes into a boot loop and never fully boots, no matter what I try. And it seems that one of the buttons was failing to work. I was getting concerned that it would call Emergency Services if I tried too many button presses. 🤣

Haven't replaced it yet. Yes, I feel naked. 🤣

I am off the wait and see what happens. I kind of doubt that much can done as it is pretty good as is. Oh yeah I like to see the health app on the Mac and iPad but for the watch it does what is needed.

They really need to improve smart replies for text messages. All you get are extremely basic canned replies (“yes“, ”no”, “can‘t talk right now”) that are always the same and not even context sensitive. Google, Microsoft and other have all had very good predictive text in emails and other apps for years now. Surely Apple can offer a better automated way to respond to texts from the wrist. It’s been really odd to me that they haven’t addressed this after 9 versions of watch OS, while it was something they advertised with the first Apple Watch. Hopefully OS 10 will be the one.

I've noticed that my canned responses seem to change at times. Not that I use them much, but sometimes they are different.

Watch OS is a little long in the tooth. It would be nice to see some under the hood updates that improve the overall functionality.

I use the list method for seeing my applications. The cluster thing is never worked for me.

I really like my Ultra, but I haven’t been able to wear it for almost a week due to a RAGING case of poison ivy. Like one step away from the hospital poison ivy and it’s all over my left wrist

After a week, I realize how much I miss my watch and how much I use it everyday.

Wear your watch on your right wrist. No need to be without your watch for a week.

Just hoping this doesn't destroy performance on my AW SE1. Battery is already seen some good use. I have been considering a battery replacement, but l don't want to replace the battery now, only to find out the watch is much slower and battery life overall is much worse on the new OS.

I guess I will have to wait a bit and find out how it will perform. At this point I am really pulling back from the upgrade cycles and making it a point to upgrade when my tech actually needs it. iPhone 12 Pro has been doing great and I have no plans to upgrade it anytime soon. Hoping to do the same with my AW SE, it has served me very well!

watchOS 10 will be the Apple Watch's biggest software update since the initial version of the operating system was released in 2015, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman. Apple is expected to announce watchOS 10 alongside iOS 17, macOS 14, and other new software during its annual WWDC keynote on June 5.

In his newsletter today, Gurman said watchOS 10 will be a "major" update with "bigger enhancements," including an "updated interface." He did not provide any additional details, so exact new features and changes remain to be seen.

Gurman said minimal hardware changes are planned for the next Apple Watch models, so watchOS 10 will apparently be a major focus this year.

The first watchOS 10 beta should be made available to Apple Developer Program members very shortly after the WWDC keynote, while the first public beta will likely be released in July for those enrolled in Apple's free Beta Software Program.

The biggest thing missing from AW is a Face Time Camera

Siri is already built using AI (technically ML "machine-learning"). But I agree with you... with such a small screen, the best way to expand the usefulness is to make it more capable without touch.... so voice it is.
Except most of the time when you need it, you're in a loud environment, so Voice recognition not that easy

I just need more options for the extra button on the Ultra, the current ones aren't very useful. For example being able to start a specific timer would do wonders to timing rest periods at the gym.

Custom watch faces when? I want to be able to make or download a user made GoldenEye watch face. Or try a classic Casio digital watch face for a laff.
