It better be (the biggest update since forever), as I can’t even remember when it was last time they actually made any meaningful change to watchOS worthy of a major release. It is very stale now, it could really do with a MAJOR revamp.
What could they possibly change?About time as the UI has changed very little since it launched, it's way overdue for a complete major overhaul.
I just hope it will still support my series 4 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I think AI or something like ChatGPT 4 is coming to the Apple Watch!
They really need to improve smart replies for text messages. All you get are extremely basic canned replies (“yes“, ”no”, “can‘t talk right now”) that are always the same and not even context sensitive. Google, Microsoft and other have all had very good predictive text in emails and other apps for years now. Surely Apple can offer a better automated way to respond to texts from the wrist. It’s been really odd to me that they haven’t addressed this after 9 versions of watch OS, while it was something they advertised with the first Apple Watch. Hopefully OS 10 will be the one.
There is also a list style of apps. You cannot get more practical than that.I like the app grid style, but it is not practical. Something with tiles would be better, but the screen is too small.
Wear your watch on your right wrist. No need to be without your watch for a week.Watch OS is a little long in the tooth. It would be nice to see some under the hood updates that improve the overall functionality.
I use the list method for seeing my applications. The cluster thing is never worked for me.
I really like my Ultra, but I haven’t been able to wear it for almost a week due to a RAGING case of poison ivy. Like one step away from the hospital poison ivy and it’s all over my left wrist
After a week, I realize how much I miss my watch and how much I use it everyday.
Apple is still offering battery replacements for watches as old as the Series 2. So there's always that route for anyone (like myself) hoping to continue using an older watch.battery won't last many more years anyways.
The biggest thing missing from AW is a Face Time Camera
watchOS 10 will be the Apple Watch's biggest software update since the initial version of the operating system was released in 2015, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman. Apple is expected to announce watchOS 10 alongside iOS 17, macOS 14, and other new software during its annual WWDC keynote on June 5.

In his newsletter today, Gurman said watchOS 10 will be a "major" update with "bigger enhancements," including an "updated interface." He did not provide any additional details, so exact new features and changes remain to be seen.
Gurman said minimal hardware changes are planned for the next Apple Watch models, so watchOS 10 will apparently be a major focus this year.
The first watchOS 10 beta should be made available to Apple Developer Program members very shortly after the WWDC keynote, while the first public beta will likely be released in July for those enrolled in Apple's free Beta Software Program.

Except most of the time when you need it, you're in a loud environment, so Voice recognition not that easySiri is already built using AI (technically ML "machine-learning"). But I agree with you... with such a small screen, the best way to expand the usefulness is to make it more capable without touch.... so voice it is.
