I don't believe you can set a straightforward max charge value for Apple Watches, like you can on phones and MacBooks. The only option is Optimised Battery Charging.
I have OBC on and it always charges to 100%. I am on watchOS27 and I don't see an 80% icon. Can send a screenshot.
Just want to correct what I said above, as per later post. I only have Optimised Battery Limit. I don't have Optimised Battery Charging

My Significant Locations is turned ON.

Since you have a learnable routine which has always worked, but suddenly doesn’t in beta 4, I suggest Apple has made some tweaks in the beta which require it to learn again…..or its a bug.

I have no routine, I charge every two or three days. When level is down to 20% I put it on a charger which could be any time of day. That might explain why I never see 80%, and possibly why I don’t see the OBL screen with open ring….maybe that only appears once it has learnt.
I am thinking bug as I am still seeing the 80% charging icon when put on the charger each night yet the S11 is at 100% in the am.

😕 Main reason I switched to Ultras. I had a brief period with S11 but went back to Ultra 3, which is even longer than the U2.
An Apple Watch Ultra is really cool and rugged, with up to 3 days worth of battery life, but it’s a brick 🧱 on my wrist. Look at how huge it is on my size 3 solo loop wrist.

I have a s6 with 84% battery health after 2 years.

Watch OS 27 bringing Siri AI. Can I ask how good it is?

I see the lack of an AI assistant as the main thing a pixel watch has over an Apple Watch.
In the current Beta, I have had awful experience with Siri on the watch. It seems fine on the Mac and iPhone, but I get mostly frustration on the Watch.

1) Other folks, and myself have had problems setting Timers or Reminders. This obviously worked pretty well on OS 26.
2) On the watch, Siri constantly asks me to clarify what I said. For example if I say "Trash Bags", Siri will ask "Trash Bags", or "Hash Tags or "Dirt Bags"? So I repeat "Trash Bags". Sir then goes "Trash Bags" or "Dirty Bags". I reply "Trash Bags". It usually then will try a 3rd time, then it gets it right or aborts without another word.

Overall, I am surprised when Siri actually works on OS 27. It's about 50-50 chance for me. I hope Beta 5 fixes this. The Betas on the other devices have worked pretty well for me, even Siri.

At this point, I wouldn't install Watch OS 27 if you use Siri.

Today I tried to set a timer and my S11 on Beta tells me it cannot start a timer because the clock app is not installed. 🤬🤬 WTF!

Apple is starting to scare me!

UPDATE: After two hours, all of a sudden, it will set a timer again. It “knew” I was charging and updating my spare S10 Ti, to replace it‼️

Siri is a “slug” on my S11 on Beta‼️

My Beta S11, again, can tell me what time it is but when asked to set a timer, tells me the clock app is missing. 😳

Understandable. I don’t use the beta as my watch is too old for that, but I can rly imagine what’s going on. It's pretty absurd how  hasn't fixed this in beta 1... and no response to feedback yet? It would be terrible if it aint on the RC

Dang it.

Was your iPhone with you when you did it?
Yes it was, but on my watch I have the “listen for” turned off, and the “raise to speak” turned on. So if there is a request that I want to make through my watch I raise the watch to within a few inches of my mouth and speak without saying “Siri or Hey Siri” and say whatever it is that I want it to do. Works quite well for me, and doesn’t trigger Siri at all (on my iPhone or iPad).

Some good news. I reported the Workout Outdoor Run/Walk (and I'm sure other outdoor workouts) and Apple had me install a Profile on my watch and iPhone to upload the problem as it happened. Well lo and behold it is fixed, or at lest I did a test 1 mile Outdoor Walk this morning (ran yesterday pre update) and it rendered a Map. Will run Thursday and check. will still run Strava also just in case.
