Will watchOS 4 work with the very first Apple Watch?

It's not available until fall and the answer is NO.:D

I could have sworn I read or heard that WatchOS 4 would have context aware complications - so complications that would change based on location. Can anyone confirm that this is a coming feature and if it has been implemented yet?

Installed it two days ago and here are my thoughts:

- Battery life is a problem. I am on a Series 2 and I can't get to the two days I had with watchOS 3. Hope it gets fixed on the next update.
- Siri watchface is still mehh. I am still rocking the modular.
- I didn't like the dock at first but now knowing you can revert it to displaying your favourites instead of the recent opened apps I like it now.
- For some reason the Mail logo does not show up at all when I get a notification.
- The new workout options are really great. Everything became smarter and the fact that I don't need to switch apps to control my music is quite appreciated.

NOW! Speaking of music, I want to express my utter HATE for the new Music app. Previously, you were able to access the songs on your phone and watch from the Music app. I loved the fact that I didn't need to pull out my phone or call Siri to play me a song. Moreover, I loved that if there was a song that I liked I could Love it or add it to my playlist from the watch. Now the Music app only operates the music on your watch. Gone is the option to Force Touch to change sources. All the iPhone music control is now on the Now Playing app which does NOT offer you the option to choose a song from your phone, nor do anything aside from pausing, playing and skipping the song. I feels like I'm back using my Pebble Time, which is NOT a feeling I want to have while wearing a $500 Apple Watch.

I doubt you can, other than waiting for next beta and charging frequently for now.. same here, draining very fast.

Try setting it up as a new watch instead of restoring from backup. I have limited apps installed on the beta(s) as well.

Agree about the music app. Such a backwards step, it *must* be a bug.

Can’t figure out how to get the HIIT to work.

Shouldn’t you be able to set interval work and recovery times?

Oh I wish it would do intervals, my running coach has assigned these once a week and I'm having to use a third party app to track them.

I'm not seeing the new watch faces, I have the S0 watch. Anyone else not seeing or have they not been released yet...

Oh man, the Music app sounds like rubbish now, let's send feedback/bug report to Apple.

With new beta , if you receive an email or iMessage , do you receive a notification count on the complication if you have on Watch face.

Always seems crazy to me that if you receive an email or iMessage , as well as the tone or Taptic feedback, it doesn't show the count.

There are times when phone in pocket & you don't feel or hear the Watch feedback , so to me it would be great if a count was shown with the complication.

Cheers

This was probably my most used feature on my Apple Watch so I'm extremely disappointed that its taken a step back. I'm hopeful it will be added again (like the Toy Story faces yet to come) in a later beta.

Yes, it does have a number count next to the icon now.

Man I have my iPhone on iOS 11, beta profile on both the phone and watch yet it’s telling me my watch iOS is up to date at watchOS3

Did you try rebooting your phone? If you did try deleting the profiles and reapplying them. It should prompt you to restart your phone and then the update should appear.

Thanks. Tried rebooting both the phone and the watch, no luck. Also tried deleting and reinstalling the profile on both the watch and phone, no luck. I’m not sure what to do.

Edit - tried the beta profile from a diff source and now it works. Sick!

Mine drains fast too. Normally I have around 25-30% at this time of day, but now I'm down to around 6-7%. I'm sure it will get better as later betas come out.
Same for me.

Can you share the source?

Could "not able to play music from the phone" be the sign the next version of watch will have LTE?

Anyone able to get the Siri watch face to show the weather? My weather disappeared and now it only shows me the breathe app and sunset.

The weather is totally F'ed up on the Watch OS4. I stopped using the Siri watch face because it was never updating to where I was currently located.
