I have a question for those using watchOS 4 and a 3rd party calendar app such as Fantastical. In watchOS 3, I am getting notifications for Fantastical and the native Calendar app (even though notifications are disabled for the native app). Anyone that's had the issue of still getting notifications for the native app, does it still happen in watchOS 4? Thanks

On watchOS 3: go to watch app- ENABLE notifications for calendar- disable all sub categories- that's it. Don't remember if you have to turn off or on after that but check it out. It works.

thanks for the tip, but I was already aware of this. I didn't solve it for me unfortunately.

Few of questions which I'd be grateful if anyone running the wOS 4 beta could answer:

- Is there a Now Playing complication for the Modular face? Can it show what's playing and the artist from non-Apple Music sources such as Spotify?

- How is performance on the Series 0? Looking at the new Dock design, I have a feeling scrolling through that is going to be like wading through treacle. I know it's only a beta, but should probably give a rough indication of whether performance will be acceptable or terrible.

- Can Siri locate people via Find My Friends? Think it's ridiculous it can do this on the iPhone, and there's a FMF app on the Apple Watch, but Siri on the AW can't do it.
Performance is ok considering it’s a beta. It is laggier/jerkier though. And battery isn’t as good.

Find my friends.. it still asks you to continue on iPhone

i'm unable to use my airpods with my apple watch at the moment a bit of the pain running on os4 hopefully it will work better in the next beta

What issue are you seeing?

I’ve not had an issue but tend to use with my iPhone.

When connecting my AirPods to my Apple Watch which i did this morning when I was going out for a walk i have loaded loads of music on my watch save me taken my phone with me all the time

It says when i am connecting the AirPods that they are not in range i have deleted the Bluetooth AirPods profiles searched for Bluetooth headphones and it wont pick up at all so there is nothing i can do now till the next beta comes out

I can honestly say that these are the worse betas i have seen to date they are not programming them properly they are rushing them and just throwing them out there and working on them at a later date

I remember in the old days they never use to release anything very often and just keep testing it and when you got it was perfect never really many problems at all odd bug here and there but nothing where you couldn't use most of your device like there is today

One of the annoying thing is that you are unable to roll back to the old operating system if you wanted to if it is that bad to work with which in some cases would come in handy depending on the problem at the time

In the "old days" they didn't let people who have no idea how development works, and think a regression or breakage mean "they are not programming them properly", use betas. That's the actual issue.

I got the AirPods working with my phone/watch, but have yet to figure out the new music app on the watch. I have my full music 180gb+ music library on my phone. I like the option of playing music from my watch on occasion, but more frequently I have my iPhone and want to play from that using the watch only as a remote. This seemed more intuitive in Watch OS 3.2. Now, the watch seeming wants to play music stored on it by default. I can get the iPhone to play with a some tinkering to the watch complication (seems to be a toggle). But it’s been frustrating at times. I’d like this to be simpler.

The Apple Watch can only store up to 500 songs all together on the new operating system which works out about 2gb it wont store no more then this

When the new Watch comes out in the fall it might and a big might have bigger to be able to store more music on the watch

The best advice i could give you with your massive library would be able to make a playlist with your top 500 songs that you enjoy the most and then store them on the watch you wish

Since using the watch as a MP3 player it is very good because when i am walking to town it saves me taken my phone with and i can live without my phone for 30 mins I don't need to contact anyone at all i can sort all that out when i come back from my walk from town

Can anyone confirm if there are changes to the stock calendar app. I'd like to be able to see more than the current one weeks appointments. I know there are alternative apps to do this

I like having an option to play from my watch for those occasions when I don’t need or want my phone nearby. 2GB is more than ample for that purpose, especially as the watch automatically loads playlists that are in heavy rotation on your phone. What I’m looking for is an easier way to play from my iPhone when the iPhone, AirPods and the watch all are present. This was how 3.2 worked, and I could ask Siri to play a playlist, or song, or or artist or album, etc.

I just tried again while walking my dogs. I created a watch face with the Playing Now complication. I started to play something that I thought was on my phone, but it apparently had been put on my watch because I recently listened to it. It looks like the watch may default to itself when the media is in the watch‘s storage. I then tried to play another playlist that was on my phone and hadn’t been listened to recently. This didn’t work when I tried using Siri. I had to pull out my phone and connect the AirPods to the phone rather than my watch. Only then could I use the watch to raise or lower volume, skip songs, etc.

I’m hoping this is just operator failure due to my unfamiliarity with the new OS, but it’s really annoying.

I'm hoping someone can please give me an answer...I recently bought the Series 1 around Christmas because the Series 2 was out of stock everywhere I looked. I am really interested in the direct bluetooth functionality regarding watchOS 4 due to it connecting directly to CGMs (continuous glucose meters) and I was wondering if the Series 1 will support this functionality or if it's limited to Series 2? I've done a lot of researched and a few websites have said it's only for Series 2 but I haven't actually seen any proof of that though. I even went through the presentation and I at least didn't come across this fact. Can anyone with a Series 1 test if there is direct bluetooth functionality? I realize those users are probably few and far between, but honestly anyone with any idea about this matter, especially anyone particularly certain, I would really appreciate if you could chime in. Thank you.

Beta 2 has just been released. Installing now. Beta 2 of iOS 11 seems to have had some of the bugs worked out.
