The Ghost function came back in recent version of the 9.1 beta but is gone in the newest I have now (…)
Still not back 😒 I’m missing it already - got myself some new shoes so I need to challenge them against a known route! 🤓

In the meantime, I keep reporting some small bugs that are still there waiting to be squeezed… and the QA/devs might have a little tough time reproducing the latest one. The steps to reproduce start with:
run and measure (at least) a distance of a half marathon, and make a personal record
😁
(it’s about the HM award/badge showing time for 20k instead of 21.1)

Great you keep reporting - I use the pacer quite a lot so happy with that.

Just finished Munich Marathon yesterday in a massive PR and loved that view all through the route if I was ahead or behind 👍🏼

Would love the GPS lock function from the ultra though. As it’s pure software it should be pushed to the other watches

Where do you report them?
There is a bug in interval workouts based on distance where the reported distances later do not match exactly to the distances defined in the workout.

Through the Feedback app, I think it got installed automatically when I installed the beta iOS.

Congratulations! 🎉

+1

Great job!

Thanks a lot ! Love our small community here - all worth it. My Series 7 survived through my 3.30 finish time while playing music to my airpods all the way no problem. My AirPods Pro ran out in the end though

"and that it constantly changes resting heart rate throughout the day."

This has probably already been answered but it can be avoided. I wear my watch for sleep but not in Sleep Mode as that can also trigger the watch to not take a resting heart rate in the morning.

When I go to sleep I turn on Airplane Mode & Theatre just so the watch face doesn't keep turning on accidentally during the night. When I do this it consistently takes a reading based on the data through the night till you get up. Doesn't change during the day at all.

I've tried Sleep Mode a few times to see what comes from the Sleep Data but this mucks up the RHR data. It seems to stop the watch from taking a reading as you get up based on the nighttime data and uses daytime data which I find pointless as it's supposed to be RHR... as in, the moment the body is most at rest as it wakes. Using daytime data adds too many other variables

Can the ghost pacer/racer only be used for an entire course or also segments inside a course? Not sure if this question has been asked (by me) before.

Hmmm… that would be cool, but it doesn’t seem to be there. Strava has a “live segments” feature (with a paid subscription only though), it does what you described, though the metrics aren’t 100% consistent with when using the default fitness app… that’s a downside for me so I only sync my runs to Strava after, and compare segments that way

Yes, I know Strava segments (and Garmin segments too).

I thought about a far more basic thing. E.g. when running a course, I always do a warmup and cooldown. Both differ from run to run, depending on how I feel or what I do or do not (e.g. warmup drills).
So my idea would be to manually mark a segment start and end and in the next run, the ghost pacer would only be active when i am running on the course of this marked segment, or all segments in this course.
We have a little park here with a sea. Would be perfect to mark a segment that encloses the sea and be flexible to run warmup/cooldown wherever one wants to.

Does Auto Pause not work in custom workouts for anyone else? On any of my custom workouts when I stop it doesn't pause the workout like it does in Open mode.

Yes, it is disabled which I find a good choice.
Imagine time based intervals and you do recovery between intervals standing. Auto pause would kick in and timer stops and recovery would only proceed when moving.

Manual pause is still available.

Can I ask for the route feature do you need to run it 2 times after you install the update for it to work or does it work first time if you have done that route a number of times before?

I think it offers previous routes right after the 9.2 installation (I just checked and I see 10+ routes to choose from, most are definitely from pre-9.2)

Hey runners. With 9.2 beta 3 and 4, I’m experiencing a bug with pace alerts - when setting up a range (for any outdoor run type), the Upper limit value selector is empty, not allowing to set anything. The Lower limit works correctly.

If anyone’s on beta 3 or 4, could you please check if it’s just me or if it’s reproducible? (And if you’re seeing the same and want to report it too, my feedback ID you can refer to is FB11844195.)

There’s a cumbersome workaround, setting the pace alerts for Target pace and setting the value that you intend for the upper limit for the range later; then exit the edit mode; edit again, switch the pace alerts from Target to Range, and only adjust the Lower limit (that one works, just the Upper limit selector is blank). This workaround isn’t 100% reliable, sometimes I need to fiddle with the settings for a while, but I’m sharing it here just in case it helps anyone.

Hmm, so this bug persists also in the 9.2 RC. Not happy as I’m using the pace range quite a lot and it’s a nightmare to set it up 😒
