I just cancelled my order for in-store pickup (16 GB iPhone+) and decided to use the reservation that Apple e-mailed (64 GB iPhone+). The reservation system indicated that it would "Deliver on 9/19", but I still felt a bit panicked since I had one guaranteed for in-store pick up.
After cancelling the in-store pickup order, it took about 3 minutes for the reservation system to detect that I no longer had an active iPhone order and to let me proceed with the 64 GB reservation order. According to my Apple order status page, I am still scheduled to be delivered on 9/19. I'm pretty happy now
