I just cancelled my order for in-store pickup (16 GB iPhone+) and decided to use the reservation that Apple e-mailed (64 GB iPhone+). The reservation system indicated that it would "Deliver on 9/19", but I still felt a bit panicked since I had one guaranteed for in-store pick up.

After cancelling the in-store pickup order, it took about 3 minutes for the reservation system to detect that I no longer had an active iPhone order and to let me proceed with the 64 GB reservation order. According to my Apple order status page, I am still scheduled to be delivered on 9/19. I'm pretty happy now :)

So for whatever reason my reservation was for 128g space gray iPhone 6 set to expire at 7am this morning. It was supposed to be for a 128g iPhone 6 Plus. I tried the switch phone option but it gave me that 3-4 week delivery delay. I just checked now to see if my reservation was cancelled and I come to find a iPhone 6 Plus with a 9/19 delivery date waiting for me.
Needless to say...I was very surprised and very happy right now.

So I was up on 9/12 at 3 am trying to order, when I finally got through on the APP it didn't let me do the next program because I have a NY phone number but I live in Indianapolis (don't want to change my life long phone number), Anyways I went on AT&T and did the next program for the 5+.. in the after math I go back in to the Apple App and I get one of the we have an iPhone reserved for you messages.

Friday morning I get my email from AT&T saying that the expected delivery date is now sometime in between late OCT and early NOV, So I cancel the order.

I went back and used the reservation number which says ships within 7 to 10 days.. What are the odds that this will be moved up once all the reservations start expiring

I know its probably been asked a millions times already but I can't find it.

Call to Apple - main# gets transferred to order dept, then transferred to tech support, and call dropped lol

Me too, even though I changed the color. It makes sense, because we have proof we were early enough to originally get the 19th. Anyone else?

Yeah, I think what they did was let us pick any model for 19th shipping because we did have proof we were early to get 9/19. I imagine they just push someone else's date back to make sure we get ours?

I cancelled my regular order that was supposed to deliver 3-4weeks and redeemed the reservation last night around 8pm. Got my confirmation order email stating 9/19 delivery! They already took it out of my account, still no tracking though.

I called them this morning --

The guy told me they are still upgrading servers and we will get emails this evening that our reservations are being held for another 24 hours and we can complete the order when we get that email.

Sounds like a long shot -- but the guy was very confident.

I have had this problem for days att and apple don't do anything about it . I haven't been able to order at all through apple and it still won't let me check for my upgrade through apple. Any resolution to this? I'm fed up . I have been having the network carrier problem since tuesday and was promised it would work but none of them no how . I am waiting for calls from high up supervisors on both sides :/ at this point I wouldn't even be able to purchase im the store

I got that as well. And I was on the app as soon as it went live. Was everyone ATT? It said it could not reach my carrier.

Yesterday when I checked my eligibility, I qualified for the partial upgrade of 649 for the plus 64. Just now when I checked the ATT site, they weren't allowing me to purchase any iPhone (unless it was a new line). I have two phones and only ordered the one phone through Apple but ATT wouldn't let pre-order another.

Can you let us know if you get that email? I'm very doubtful that we will though. They don't even have a record of my reservation number in their system.

I was able to get two reservation codes to upgrade the only two phones on my account to the 128GB 6 plus. The reservation was secured at 3:45am ET, and the second email from Apple arrived at about 10:00AM ET asking us to complete our orders by Saturday at 9:00am PT. When we went to sign in...a problem:

"We’re sorry. We can’t find your reservation. Please verify your information and try again."

I spent most of my day making calls to Apple yesterday -- no one had a clue what was going on. I tried again this morning (on my computer, on my phone, through the apple store app...) no fix. 9AM came and went. I checked through apple.com and also through AT&T to confirm that we are eligible for upgrades -- no issues there.

I gave up and decided to place a new order and just deal with the delayed shipping time through Apple.com. After verifying eligibility and selecting the plan (Standard 2 year contract) I got another error:

"Your account is in a market not supported for upgrades."

Um. What? New York City is not supported for upgrades? Called AT&T, they have no idea what that means and have never heard of the error. Called Apple, they too have no idea what that means and directed me back to AT&T.

Incredibly frustrated and beyond disgusted -- each side telling me to contact the other...and each response is "we do apologize for the inconvenience, but you're screwed. back of the line for you."

Am I the only one in iPhone purgatory?

I'm feeling lucky.... my husband ordered his right after pre-order through the app. I got stuck with a "reservation."

Got on yesterday around 1PM and placed my order.

Mine is preparing for shipment and his is still processing

East coast people got screwed extra. I stayed up until 4am to put my preorder in. This is ridiculous.

I was never able to complete my reservation, but I also never received any further emails from Apple. Just checked my orders page and my iPhone is now listed as "Preparing for Shipment" with a 9/19 delivery date. So, yay?

Can you let us know if you get that email? I'm very doubtful that we will though. They don't even have a record of my reservation number in their system.

I received this email. My cutoff time to complete my order was extended from today 9AM PDT to tomorrow 4 PM PDT.

The thing is, I completed a separate order for in-store pickup on the 19th for the same phone number, shortly after I saw the "We've reserved an iPhone for you" screen , so I'll be disregarding these emails.

Of course, now I'm fearful that when my completed order is processed, AT&T's slow-as-molasses systems will still have lingering in them the eligibility check done for the reserved phone, and Apple will cancel the order that I did complete, leaving me with no phone. I should be okay, since I only actually have one completed order. But after seeing how many people had their iPhone 4 preorders cancelled for bogus reasons, who the heck knows?

Best of luck to you.

What time did you put in your first preorder? Haven't received another email yet.

I don't think so. They have a lot of wiggle room. I've seen them move a phone date earlier by giving "free" delivery upgrade. I know, we have no choice of delivery time, but on their end, they can assign this and that moves the date a bit.

What will happen is the many extra reservations (due to the fiasco) that won't be picked up will add inventory. Some of those were given an extension until tomorrow.

So I ordered two phones but my charge card only has one pending authorization.

I saw the "We've reserved an iPhone for you" screen at about 1 AM PDT; completed an order for in-store pickup at 1:59 AM PDT; and received the "We've reserved an iPhone for you" email at 2:19 AM PDT, the "complete your order by the 13th at 9 AM PDT" email at 7:59 AM PDT, and the "complete your order by the 14th at 4 PM PDT" email today at 12:55 PM PDT.

I'm surprised they didn't automatically cancel your 1st reservation since you have two orders under the same phone#? I guess they didn't even bother checking these things.

I think actual human beings are involved little in this aspect of the process.

A few years ago, if you had Order #1 for (123) 456-7890 and Order #2 for (123) 456-7890, AT&T's systems would mark Order #1 as a duplicate of Order #2 and Order #2 as a duplicate of Order #1 and flag both orders for cancellation--a needless to say inelegant solution. I don't know if they've improved things now. I hope so.

I think I'm okay because the reservation goes about as far as checking your eligibility and adding a phone to your cart (only Apple here is granting 24-48 hours before the phone is removed from your cart), but falls short of customer payment submission--so it shouldn't push my eligibility back two more years. If I were to complete the order of my reserved phone (assuming I'd actually be able to--I haven't checked), then I'd expect a problem. A supervisor at Apple also told me that if I ignore the reservation emails, I'll be fine.

So I hope and expect that the one order that I have completed will not be cancelled as a "duplicate"/"ineligible for upgrade."

I have two reserved but due to Verizon issues early on I don't currently have a line to transfer to but wanted to port a number from AT&T. Do you think the reservation system will give me an option to port a number or just upgrade only?

I see the words "upgrade a line" in my reservation when I log in but can't go further until I do something with it. Maybe I can go buy 2 cheap phones today, port those numbers then log in to my reservation and immediately upgrade the lines. Thoughts or experience with this, much appreciated, thanks.

I think upgrade means changing your existing line. You're talking about adding.

Still haven't received any email from apple.

One of my orders is ready for shipping as of this morning, 19th (gold plus 64gb ATT bought on apple. The other, same specs, is still processing.

If you are having problems, I think it's worth it to try to phone Apple, put it on speaker, wait out the hours, and then speak to them.
