Simple logic, 2k of data loads faster than 200k of data regardless of file type. No real story here except that Google offers the option to turn Flash on or off.
Better to have the choice to view Flash if you want rather than no choice at all. Looks pretty good actually! And this version of Flash is beta, so hopefully it'll get better still. Google are doing a really great job with Android right now, there's a lot of impressive things coming from them just now.
Typical fanboy answer, you don't want or need flash because Steve jobs said you don't want or need flash.

Personally, I don't think Stevie should have any authority over the future of Flash.

Flash should be banned it is such a resource hog!
its called choice.
and yes, as kdarling mentioned, there is a setting in the browser to enable on demand access to plug-ins like flash.
Loading more data intensive content takes longer?

Am I the only one who thinks playing those flash games was pretty cool?
Am I the only one who is interested on watching Hulu on their phone (yes froyo users can do this with a minor modification)?
It's just a beta version of flash. It's still cool, and there should still be the option.
Give me the option to view flash or not. Let me make my own decision. Google will get my money and not Apple next time I buy a phone. Choices are good.
Why do you think it will actually get better? THIS IS THE WAY THAT IT ACTS IN BROWSERS ON DESKTOPS! Your page won't load? Flash ads. You have a YouTube video on the page? Well, wait for it. All this pandering by Google for an old and stupid technology that we don't need anymore.
As we all know, Flash is the major malfunction - numbnuts, where numbnuts is Adobe and Steve Jobs is right.
And with 17% [sorry, 16.8%] of Verizon customers saying that they are "very likely" to purchase an iPhone [according to Morgan Stanley analyst Katy Huberty], it looks like the Stupidly named Nexus one is failing badly.
Give me the option to view the website in flash or not. Let me make my own decision. The website that doesn't require flash to view their content will get my money and not the one that forces me to use a 3rd party plugin next time. Choices are good.
