iPod touch Week 38 = Good iPods?

I worked for a Tibetan Rug company in far western china and we shipped rugs (huge ones) to america in less than a week... i would figure a small little ipud would be alot faster (yes, i said ipud)
 
Cleveland officially suxxcks. I have been checking the BB's here everyday as well as the local Apple store. The guys at the Apple store said they received a shipment last friday and have received none since. I think Apple forgot about CLE. I'm frustrated. I see people talking about returning 3-4 of these and I can't even get a sniff of ONE. Hopefully, they get a shipment tomorrow and I can pick it up tomorrow night or Sat.

I just returned my w37 (if it is really "week 37"), I will probably wait for "w40". Im afraid so much attention was focused on the screen issue of w37, other annoyance may go un-noticed...

same. I am returning my week 37 tomorrow probably. I am just going to place my order online (as I imagine the store will not have any week 38's in stock or will be sold out). Hoping for a week 39!

Do week 38'ers allow you to input entries in the CALENDAR?!

i hate to bust everyones bubble but I have a week 38 and my screen is not looking so hot. I looked at that jay-z pic and it is perfect if I rotate with the bottom toward me but straight on it washs out slightly and rotate it so the top is closer to me slightly (5 degres or less) it goes major negative.

Its not a big deal only thing I have to compare it on it black album, I Heard empire strike back is a good movie to test. I prob wont get to that till later this weekend, I will let you know when I make my final verdict.

Other then that everything is flawless, no hiss

What counts is straight-on. The cheaper screens won't have the viewing angle compared to, say, the original iPhone screen or a high quality LCD panel...

If people in china were making iPods last week with defective screens and now this week they started making them properly, how have apple managed to ship the "38 week" iPods all over the country in 4 days??

Does a "38 week" iPod mean it was esembled in week 38??

If this isnt the case and the iPods where made more than a week ago, then Apple must have known that the iPods they were shipping where defective??

Ive got a 16GB touch reserved for me at my local apple reseller (UK). I really hope when I go to pick it up tomorrow that its a "week 38" model.

Simple. Steve Jobs had a gun to the factory workers' head while yelling WORK HARDER AND FASTER! and then the same thing to the fed ex workers...etcetc
 
I have a week 36 ipod that will produce the negative black effect if I hold it at any sort of an angle. However, when staring at it straight on, you can't see it. Is this normal? When I say angle I mean a very slight tilt. Will the apple store give me any trouble trying to return this?
 
how does the new touch screen compare to the iphone?

sorry if this was mentioned already but... since alot of people are getting fixed itouch screens now... how does it compare to the iphone now? is the iphone screen still superior?

i am personally waiting to get an itouch until cases for them come out... i want to protect my PRECIOUS. lol :p besides, maybe apple will decide to make the screens just like the iphone's? :rolleyes:

Yep. My week 38 definitely still has a negative blacks issue. Not nearly as bad as my week 37s, but it is still there... and still quite annoying and infurating. Guess its back to Apple for a 6th time. or 5th. or whatever. jesus.
 
I'm not sure if this was addressed but has anybody seen the week 38 in stores yet? If so what region of the country. I'm in Los Angeles and just returned my 37 (and they gave me a 36 which I refuse to open so I can swap for a 38).

Yikes, that's frightening (and must be frustrating for you).

You may say Jesus, and Steve Jobs may resurrect this one once he walks back across the Atlantic, but he certainly "ain't" no Jesus releasing this product.

Maybe yours was right at the end of 37/start of 38 which skeeted through.

If anyone REALLY wants to play it safe, wait until you start seeing the week 40's...
