iPod touch Week 38 = Good iPods?

Yea, I went with the 4Gig iPhone, and the next day I stopped by the store to get accessories and the Touch was out on display.

The OS X Touch interface for mobile devices is INCREDIBLY AMAZING and the one that no other computing/mobile manufacturer can "touch" :p
 
Question answered...I really hope I get the week 38.

Since I Ordered mine today, do you guys think I will get the week 38?
 
Screen issues

I picked up a 16GB iPod touch from the Trafford Centre Apple Store on Wednesday. According to the serial it's week 37 with CBR on the box cover.

The screen seems ok and I love the device, but not sure how to prove if I've got a duffer or not?

Any tips please!

Compare it to your PC for reference.
 
What I don't understand is why they put that random singer on the box of the bad ones. Wouldn't it have made more sense to put Michael Jackson there? :eek:

So that's 1 out of like 100 week 38s so far with a bad screen. That's a much better ratio than last week!
 
LOL, Michael Jackson is an apt choice. ;)

It doesn't really matter if your screen is black or white

I got mine!

I just got my iPod. It came in a Corinne box but has the week 38 number. The screen looks excellent! I could not hear any hissing either! Looks like I got a good one! Oh and by the way, it does sync a little bit slower than my 5G iPod but, oh well... not a big deal.

Guess what else. I was banned for 2 days for calling someone names on here. I have learned my lesson and I'm sorry. I'm back and I'm gonna be nicer this time around!
 
I just got my preordered week 37 8gb Touch and it looks pretty good so far. I am letting it charge up and then I will get some pictures of it to compare to the week 38's.
 
i just hope week 39'ers arent even better than week 38ers..

I returned my Week 37 today at Best Buy. They don't have any more, so I suppose I'll wait a few weeks and see if they get more in stock. My town is pretty small, so it's probably not a real high priority to get the restock.

Oh well. Once the week 38+ are 100% confirmed good, I'll probably get another.
 
I'm just keeping mine until new ones come in. The Apple Store assured me that it's a warranty issue and I can exchange it even outside the 14 day policy.

I didn't want to mess with the people at Best buy. They asked me if there was anything wrong, I said "no", and then they pushed for store-credit, which I also said no.

I didn't want to raise a suspicion 25 days from now about why I "rented" it for so long.

I'll just wait a month or 2, and when they are confirmed to be 100% fixed, then go for it.

That's exactly what I did. I kept it in perfect shape, including the back, so there would be no hassles returning. I just mentioned I didn't like the screen, Best Buy allows free returns anyways on music players.

Since then I ordered from Target.com for a better price. It really looks like we're in the clear with the Week 38 units, so anything from here on out should be just fine...

So far I have not heard of even 1 instance of a bad screen on a Week 38.
